Awesome ice cream shop in Harvard Square area. The flavor selection is sort of limited to classic flavors that you'd see on a "farm-fresh" ice cream joint. Nothing super inventive like you'd see at Honeycomb Creamery further up the road, for example.

However, what they do, they do well! The ice cream tasted rich, full, and flavorful. I'm a peanut butter fiend so I got the "peanut butter cookies n' creme" flavor, which had a strong PB taste.

I would also like to complement their large range of sizes. You can get a little cup if you're not feeling up to the other sizes.

Great ice cream. A little pricey in my opinion, but I think I may need to reevaluate my ideas of what is a good price. Shop was clean. Service was good. You can get a scoop and then walk around Harvard’s Campus. A great option on a sunny day.

YEAHHHH this was great!! I had debated whether to visit a
J.P. Licks since it seems like a bigger chain compared to other ice cream shops. It was so good, highly worth a stop if you’re in the area. I tried the cookies n’ cream cake batter flavor and a maple-based flavor. So good, soft, and not overly sweet

Great ice cream where small serving is not small by any standard measure (expect each serving to be 1.5-2 times regular size). Texture is a bit soft & smooth and the flavor pretty good, all at great prices. Definitely recommend as I was by everyone I met from Boston/Cambridge. They do allow sampling.

They are essentially a cafe and ice cream shop merged together. They also sell coffee, soft serve, few dairy free options, pastries (savory too), cupcakes, milkshakes, ice cream cakes and sandwiches etc.

They serve some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I indulged and got a sundae with chocolate and maple sugar walnut. Both flavors and textures were outstanding. Good topping selection too. Definitely a treat to remember. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

First time I tried pumpkin caffee late! I was there on the day 16 and 17th February around 4-5pm when served by a spanish speaking attendent he was very kind to me and my colleagues, very friendly and outgoing. I love this place, it style and sure is one of my starred places in Boston. When I'll go back I will dwf go back to J.P. Licks. ♥

Oy if I could give more than 5 stars. J.P. Licks was amazing. Love the ice cream and soft yogurt. Staff was so humble and amazing people. I strongly recommend this place . Don't miss out on this.

After a warm morning visiting Harvard, J.P. Licks was just what we needed. Kiddo had a scoop of black raspberry and sharkleberry fin sorbet (no photo, she started eating right away) and loved it. Hubby had a double scoop affogatto and it was delish. Just what he needed after coming into town on a red eye! Split a banana split (😂) with the parents...mint cookies and cream, coffee, and coconut almond chip with strawberries, almond pieces, whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzle. The coffee tasted just as you'd imagine a frozen cafe au lait might taste. Wasn't sure what to expect from the coconut almond chip but it was yummy, too. Not overwhelming on the coconut. And the mint cookies and cream did not disappoint. The mint was not an overpowering flavor. The biggest surprise of all was the whole strawberries! That was a first.

We love their Brownie Brownie Batter ice cream. It's one of the best MA ice cream chains

This is an amazing and super yummy pit stop for ice cream and sweet treats! I had the ice cream soda and a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream and it was amazing! Friendly staff and some seating, although it does get busy!

There are close to 20 flavours of ice creams, plus muffins, coffees and other snacks. Ice cream flavours all tastes original.
Downside is that their wooden benches and chairs are not very comfortable to sit on

Sooooo~~ delicious!!!!!! Every flavor is good! Not so sweet and high quality!! Not a spacious place but enough to have some ice cream with friends!

JP Licks is THE Boston ice cream chain, and this is probably its busiest location. Get one of the monthly special flavors and then people-watch from the front window. Even if it's literally 5 minutes after opening.
