Twice Sold Tales

Twice Sold Tales is an amazing bookstore that has both new and used books in all genres. The guys who works there is super nice and informative but the star of this establishment is of course Beau (hope that's how you spell his name) the cat who seem to love people. Love having this wonderful place in the neighborhood.

Yes, I came for the cat, but I stayed for the books and ended up buying five! I love second-hand bookstores, and one with cats cannot be beat! The gentleman working was super friendly and it was great chit-chatting with him for a bit :)

Went to look for cats, not gonna lie. I was jet-lagged and missing my own cat, and this was exactly what I needed! I ended up spending about an hour here looking for some of the books on my wishlist. Loved the relaxed feel, and all the hidden rooms and corridors. It feels like a labyrinth at times.

This bookstore is one of those gems that is teeming with character. It's not a tidy place, and walking past other browsers makes it feel small enough to be a closet, but Twice Sold Tales is worth the stop anyway. The store cat is a massive loaf who is very friendly about being pet, and the book selection is both nostalgic and exciting! ♡

A historic landmark in my humble opinion. This bookstore used to reside in the U-District. Lots of sweet felines roam languidly about the store. Great place to find a story to get lost within.

Don't go in unless you have time because there are a lot of awesome books to check out. The store owner also has his own book for sale, which looks very good and another reason to come back.
Twice Told Tales was originally in the U District. This space is smaller but has an excellent collection of used books... you could easily soend 2 hours in there! One friendly kitty in the store. This is an awesome used bookstore!

Had a great time here. It's a small store, but I found some great old sci-fi books in really looking forward to reading! Will definitely go back, especially when I'm getting new tea next door at Floating Leaves!!!

Sleepy little bookstore in Ballard. If you like just getting lost in mounds of books then this is your place. Fair warning, it's a little chaotic inside but honestly it adds to the quaintness of the place in my opinion. It wasn't meant to be a large, Barnes & Noble-esk establishment and for good reason.

Always a great selection of sci-fi and fantasy. Beau is plentiful and friendly which just makes the whole experience great.

This is a super cozy, welcoming shop that sells gently used books of all kinds. The selection is definitely smaller than your typical bookstore, but the inexpensive finds will make it worth your while. Plus, the store owner kindly told us it was happy hour: 25% off! There's a cat that hangs around the bookshelves as well who may or may not follow you as you browse.

Literally one of the best bookstore in seattle super nice owner plus they have an adorable cat named Bo who is super friendly and really makes the store feel nice and homey. If your looking somewhere to stop in on rainy day can’t recommend twice sold tales enough.

I love this place! I live across the street so it’s easy to just pop in and browse from time to time. I don’t always find something, but there’s a lot of options to choose from, and browsing is just as nice.

To make it even better they have a shop cat! I volunteer at the shelter they adopted him from and it’s so nice to see him get a bunch of attention and love from people who stop in.

I have often asked myself what kind of world is it where people no longer talk to eachother like people. There are many things about this world it is possible to be angry about but Twice Sold Tales and its inimitable staff do not stand among this number.

The exact circumstances that brought on this heartfelt praise will not be related to the internet and will, therefore, be lost to history.

Suffice to say, if there is a story to be heard or a tale to be told, then you will find it - most surely - at my favorite bookstore in the world: Twice Sold Tales.

Just what a used book store should be. Packed full of great books, cat-occupied, and full of surprises. It's a mess, but that seems right.

Got great book about feline artistry. The man at the desk was friendly, I got to say hello to the store cat, and I paid a fair price for a wonderful book. No complaints.
