This place has great gear and good people. They handle warranty and repairs well. They make music happen. Drums, guitars, PA systems, DJ service, banjo, dobro, etc. They probably got ya covered. I personally love this store.

To say that this place is amazing would be an understatement! You can tell that the staff and the owner have a love for music and all of the details that go into it. Hands down, best experience I've ever had in a music/guitar shop. Will definitely be returning!

I'll start by saying Alvis is a small home town guitar dealer and repair shop. If you truly want to feel cared about as a person and not a $$ shop here. Brett is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. Now if he doesn't have what you want in stock he never fails to ask if you would like him to order it for you. I visit here often to see what new stock or new used instruments he has. 10/10 an amazing place to shop.

Great place to do business, my great grandfather played music with Brett’s dad my mother bought her first guitar there and I have bought several, always been fair, price is great I have learned a lot from the staff here over the years, I truly hope this place stays in business for many years to come and a big thanks to the owners and staff for serving our community for over40 years

I’ve shopped at Alvis Music since 1994. This is your picturesque mom & pop music store that offers personalized service that no big name store can ever do. When I call the store or visit inside, I know that I will get the best product with the best service that I have still yet to see from any store or internet site. This is a proud multigenerational family owned store that is top notch.

My go to! I took guitar lessons there when I was 13 but quit only to start playing again at 20. I wasn’t sure at all where to start as far as new strings, picks, and a good tuner went, but the staff was super knowledgeable and friendly and helped me get started again. Would 100% recommend again; and will be going to for all my guitar needs.

wonderful staff, without a doubt the best store in knox county, or even the southern midwest that sells good equipment for good prices. would suggest buying most things if not all from there if you feel up to it. thanks for being friends, guys.

I have bought a guitar and drum set here on layaway. Very lienient Iayaway. Didn't have any specific dates, just told me to come pay on it some when I could. I buy most of my supplies from them. Great service. If they don't have what you want, they will usually get it. Just stop in and talk to someone.

I've known the owner for many years and he always gives a great value for buys, sales and trade-in. Just traded my acoustic in for an electric and an amp, he threw in a cord and strings with the deal. LOVE this place!

I've been shopping with Brett, and his father, Dave since shortly after they opened, I believe in 1978. I have always liked dealing with Brett for all my musical needs. I have, over the years purchased 3 P.A. systems. Four guitars and a bass, lights, stands wireless, and mics and other gear. Brett would always, and still will match internet prices. I recently ordered a custom G&L Doheny Fullerton USA guitar for an unbelievable price. About 45 more days it should be here. If you need anything musical, Brett is your guy to go to. I still do after all these years. Thanks, my friend for being there.

Dropped of an old alto saxaphone that needed to be redone. It was bent, scratched, you name it. They did an amazing job and I was very pleased. Price wasn't bad either. It looked brand new when I got it back. Very pleased with Alvis music!

Hands down the best and most knowledgeable place to go if your looking for music gear. Locally owned and owner run. Don't waste your time with the mainstream retail place... heck I cant even remember the name of that place anymore... and you wont either after just one stop at alvis music. If I could rate it higher than a 5 I would.

Had a music emergency when a tuning key went out on stage. Had to replace my D string tuner with my G string tuner to get thru the gig. Called Avis first thing on Monday because of their famous "random parts" box. They had the single tuning key I needed for a rare bass. Quick and professional for our working bands needs as usual.
