I have been a long time customer of this restaurant, but have not had the time to go in for awhile. After reading all of these recent 1 star reviews, I was pretty skeptical of going back thinking they changed a lot. Nevertheless, I ended going back for dinner tonight and the food was as GREAT and DELICIOUS it has always been! Service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. This just goes to show not to always trust negativite reviews.

The food and customer service was great and awesome as it always has been. So many of these negative reviews say things such as the chicken was under cooked or the prices are too high, but I have ordered the same items multiple times over the years that others had and never ever had any issues. In addition if prices are too high, do not go out to eat as the food quality justifies the price as well as prices are pretty much the same across all establishments on Thayer Street.

i used to dine in at Soban before, now I get takeout from here weekly. I love their food and I hope they stay in thayer for a long time. love the BBQ Chicken, the secret spicy wings are 🔥 it was my first time trying the cheeseling chicken and i was not disappointed.

When Soban reopened with the bbq chicken franchise we were all excited. When I am in NYC I would stop by that location there. I have to say this Providence location in terms of crispy chicken, flavors, and wing size is better than the one from NYC. The owner really knows how to double fry and season the wings.

Fair warning there is a wait because it takes a minimum of 25 mins to prepare for a double fry and season. I would recommend to place it online if you are in a rush because it is usually just the owner who is running the front taking orders and cooking. Expect to wait 30- 45mins.

But it is well worth the wait. Also this is a mom and pop establishment. So please be kind.

Best boneless chicken I've had in a while. And I love how there's tvs playing Korean dramas.

Soban is the restaurant which opens even at Thanksgiving.

It has the best hotmala and cheese chicken wings.

Don't understand why it charges for the free coke in the lunch specials.

There’s really nothing better in life than the first time when you bite into a piece of crunchy, crispy outer layer only to be met by a soft, juicy and tender inner layer of meat. As the flavor of soy garlic immerses into your tongue to experience the different notes of umami, salty, sweet and acidic you just want to take another bite of bliss.

10/10 would eat again.

If you ever get the chance to order something, try their Spicy Chicken. Its spicy, crispy, crunchy and addictive. It was really enjoyable :)

Honey garlic boneless is nothing short of incredible. It was so good I’ll be going back again tonight.

Honey Garlic boneless fried chicken is SUPREME: the perfect amount of lightweight crispy breading, juicy meat and flavorful sauce. This is a bit of waiting but that’s because everything is made FRESH. I wolfed down everything so fast and forgot to take a picture lol. I am super impressed!!
Bonus: they take Alipay and Paypal

Tried their beef bibimbap and soy garlic flavored wings, so good. Flavor and texture was perfect.

I love this place! There are a lot of good options and lots of free side dishes for you to select. Highly recommend the dubboki and the bibimbap. The Korean ahjumma behind the counter is also really sweet :)

First time ever eating Korean food, and I absolutely will go back. I cannot describe how good the food is. Amazing! Higley recommend. Go for the hot stone bowl! You won't be disappointed.

Delicious place to eat! My family and I ordered ramen, fried chicken, and kimbap. Our favorite was the fried chicken. The owner was very kind to us. There seemed to be only a couple people in the back making food but we got our food in less than 10 minutes despite that. Will definitely be back when I’m in Providence again!

Tastes just like the bbq chicken i had back in Korea :) would recommend!

I love this place. The Japchae is incredible, the buffet of sides is great, and the stews and noodle soups are really flavorful. The couple who run the restaurant are very friendly. The restaurant is larger and nicer than last year so it’s even better for large parties. The spicy sauce on the tables is so good!

So yummy every time I go! Many options for me to choose from as a pescatarian. The staff seems friendly and the layout is casual-cute. I want to try many more dishes here!

The best chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life!! And I’m from the south!!! I’ve had plenty of chicken wings! I have to get them at least three times a month! The flavor is extraordinary the crisp is second to none if you’re looking for a fulfilling meal then look no further because you’ve definitely found it!
