Avita of Stroudwater

Avita of Stroudwater is an outstanding facility with amazing staff members to support you and your loved one. The idea of our mom living in a home rather than with us was unthinkable. When her dementia advanced and she was no longer safe in our home, we turned to Avita and they welcomed our mom and us into their family with open arms. Our mom is up and part of daily activities and routines designed to make each day special and wonderful for her. The food is amazing and she looks forward to fresh home cooked meals. The neighborhood is inviting and engaging and she enjoys coffee and socializing with her neighbors and having her own apartment as well. The staff treats her with love and respect and that extends to her family as well. The Avita family has made a difficult decision for our mom, easier every day. We are so grateful for the team members there and the love and support they have shown her and us.

Our family feels very fortunate to have found Avita of Stroudwater where our sister initially attended their Day Program. Getting to know the setting and the people at Avita through this program allowed her to make an easy transition when subsequently moving there as a resident. We have been pleased and grateful for Avita's caring staff, who provide both excellent programming as well as one-to-one time and attention. In all our contacts and visits, we have observed genuine compassion and concern - from the aides who help her dress and bathe to those who oversee the activities, nursing and residential care. They bring flexibility and creativity to ensuring that our sister's life is consistently comfortable - and frequently fun as well! The warmth and genuine caring we observe makes us especially grateful that our sister has Avita as her home.

The move in process at Avita went very smoothly. All my questions were answered promptly regarding the logistics of move in and the list provided of what to bring/not bring was very helpful. I am happy with the many activities, meals and the commitment of all to make this a comfortable and welcoming place to live. I feel very confident in the care my mother is receiving so I don’t need to worry about her in a daily basis. I believe I made the right and best choice in moving my mother to Avita and always leave feeling this way.

My mother has been enjoying this chapter of her life at Avita for over two years now. She and her friends enjoy hanging out together at the dining room table when not at an art, exercise or musical event. When I drop in I feel like I’m joining a neighborhood tea party. My mother loves people. I see the staff loving her right back, always ready for a welcoming hug.

All Assisted living facilities seem amazingly expensive to me. Once you appreciate what’s involved and that the staff is well trained and dedicated, it’s a little bit easier to understand.

I know my mother still has a purpose in life and I’m glad she can express it at Avita of Stroudwater.

Avita of Stroudwater is the perfect place for folks with progressive memory issues. I was able to have my relative secure a studio apt. after several incidents that deemed her unable to live alone and take care of herself. With no relatives living nearby to help, this was the ideal placement. The staff is outstanding. They are well versed on how to deal and interact with the residents and they really do care for their residents. My relative receives nutritious meals, has her medications dispensed appropriately, participates in daily enrichment programming, and most importantly, she is safe. She has also made new friends, which is great for her socialization.
As I mentioned, Avita of Stroudwater is ideal for folks with progressive memory issues. I am always kept informed of any issues that arise and semi annual meetings are held to discuss my relative's current status. The additional services offered as issues progress include personal care services, on site nursing, doctor visits as well as occupational, physical, or speech therapy services. These do require additional costs, but are conducted on site, which is ideal.
I would also like to say that the physical building was designed for memory care clients. Everyone has their own living space. There is lots of natural light, a patio area, spacious main areas and a comfortable dining space. Overall I feel Avita of Stroudwater and especially the staff that are there are outstanding and I am pleased my relative is able to be living there. She is happy and isn't that what we all want.

My family member moved into Avita Memory care in October 2023. She was really struggling at home. She was very lonely not eating. She was so cut off from inaction. I have been in healthcare since 1985. I ended up touring facilities to see what the right fit would be. I felt the love in the building immediately. I was touring with Cally. I knew at the end of the tour this was the right place for my family member. She adjusted well and quickly. She started eating and gained weight. I was so torn about taking her out of her home. It’s the best thing that has happened to her when she had been struggling for 4 years. The first visit she said I know I need to be here everyone is so kind and respectful. If you want your loved one in a high quality place that walks the talk with their staff then Avita is for you. I feel so happy she can go on this journey with Avita staff and be treated with so much dignity and love. It is such a comfort for her family and we have peace knowing the care and love she receives daily. Forever grateful!!!

Avita of Stroudwater has done an excellent job taking care of mom. She has activities, structure and interaction - all of which are so important at this stage of her life. The caregivers truly care about her wellbeing, and she loves them very much. Thank you all - I'm so grateful for everything you do!

Avita is a great memory care community that has a truly warm and inviting atmosphere. As senior living advisors, we have had the opportunity to partner with them for over five years. Avita of Stroudwater is wonderful. My parents were transferred to Avita from the Lodge. They took such good care of them. It was a hard transition for my sibling and myself but the staff helped all of us get through the emotions of the move.

They were happy and busy and my family truly appreciated everything they did for our parents. We truly became a family of Northbridge.

Our mother was a resident of Avita of Stroudwater for almost 2 1/2 years and we knew within 30 days that choosing Avita was the best decision we could have made. Mom thrived there. She was happy, well fed and well cared for. We had no concerns because Avita staff kept us regularly updated on all aspects of mom's care. My daughter works at Avita of Stroudwater and the passion that she and every staff member have to better the lives for folks suffering from this disease is out of this world. The compassion and support that she receives from her entire team and corporate team is something you do not find in many communities like Avita. They encourage her to grow and let her know how valuable she is. The company has a philosophy of dignified living and respect for anyone that walks in the door. Through COVID they have been flexible to all their staff while still maintaining the best quality care for their residents. I would highly recommend anyone looking for residential living to explore all that Avita has to offer.

Avita is a beautiful space. The staff has been amazing, caring and respectful during my mother's recent move into Stroudwater. Mom's first week could have been hard on the whole family but they kept her active, engaged and having fun! Avita's caregivers are loving, understanding and kind. Mom could not be better cared for.

The entire team at Avita is caring and compassionate. They provide meaningful activities for the residents and keep them engaged in spite of the pandemic. The neighborhoods are just the right size. The facility is beautiful and spotless. The staff is dedicated and a joy to be around.
I have interacted with the team at Avita since the day they opened and I remain impressed by the excellent care they provide. As an occupational therapist, I understand the importance of keeping residents engaged in their ADLs and leisure which has always been Avita's focus.

This place is amazing! They are all so nice and treat my grandmother as part of their family. When she has a rough day they are sure to try and brighten it any way they can. They do all sorts of activities with her, from painting to flower pot making, singing and dancing. She has such a great time. My grandmother suffers from Alzheimer's and doesn't always remember things but what she does remember is 'she really likes it here (Avita). Couldn't ask for a better place to be! Thank you to the Avita team for all being so amazing!

Over the past five years, I have had numerous opportunities to partner with the team at Avita of Stroudwater, including providing additional care for their residents and facilitating educational programs for family members and the public. I am always impressed by Avita's commitment, not only to delivering the highest level of care and offering a wide array of engagement activities for their residents, but also to furthering awareness of Alzheimer's and other dementias in the community. Their staff is knowledgeable and creative, compassionate and fun, and it is always evident to me just how committed they are to their residents and their families.

Our family was lucky enough to find this place when it was being built. We had an appointment with Courtney who explained what it would be like for our Mom. We've never regretted the decision. She loves being there, doing all the activities offered. The entire staff has been wonderful to her and to her family. Of course, the pandemic made all their efforts so much more important than in regular times. They have gone above and beyond during these stressful times. We love you Avita!

The folks at Avita have been so supportive during the trying times of getting my mother in law into the facility during the Covid pandemic. Our family had many concerns, but the staff put us at ease and kept in constant contact with the process. “Mum” was reluctant to go to “any” facility, however, she settled in well and is thriving very well in her new environment. This is a direct reflection of how diligent, caring, and well trained the staff is at Avita of Stroudwater. I highly recommend them.

I have worked with the wonderful staff at Avita as we worked together to provide care for a number of my clients who have moved there over the past few years, The community provides a warm, rich and researched based program for older adults diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease of other dementias. The building is state of the art and their meals are known for their variety and quality. I highly recommend Avita for any family looking for quality care for their loved one.
