Astro Dog Park

What a pleasant surprise! A well-cared for park with separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. Lots of shade; benches for dog parents; covered picnic area; fresh water, and a large plastic pool for dogs to cool off in. Right next to a playground with restroom area.

We love this dog park. It's always clean and stocked. There is an area for small dogs, and a separate area for large dogs. They also have at least 2-3 acres of wooded land that is fenced for taking your fur babies on the trails and in the woods off leash without fear of losing them. Is an awesome park!

Part field of grass, typical of most dog parks, Astro is not your typical dog park. Walk down to the end of that field (large breed enclosure), and look left.

Passing through the gate into the “working” dog part of park. Portal into a whole new level of doggie delights. Pooches are bounding through the Moon of Endor, ready to engage the first Ewok that falls from the thick canopy above.
After a good few days of rain look for a turtle to plunge into the creek every 30 seconds or so.

Not a bad experience yet.

Bigfoot enjoyed it thoroughly. Visited numerous times Summer 2021.

Putting a better dog fountain within both enclosures on a wish list.

Great park, my dogs love the working dog area. Clean bathrooms for the handlers, sure beats a portable pottie

This place is incredible 10 acres of woods and a creek that my dog loves. As far as dog parks go this one is 5 out of 5!

We loved taking our puppy to Astro Dog Park! This was our collie’s first trip to a dog park. Flash made a friend at the forest sniff! Flash and Huck has a lot of fun this evening!!! While Flash was playing, my daughters were playing on the kid play ground. It’s fun for everyone, now everyone will fall asleep at bed time!!!

Great agility park for dogs. Has nice equipment for pups to train on. Dogs really enjoy the challenges.

Great park! Nice large Large Dog area. Pet owners very nice and responsible. Very little waste not picked up. Hope to use the fenced in Working Dog area next time so we can walk our dogs off lead

The park was really clean, they have a kiddie pool for the dogs, and a bucket of water to drink!! The space is big! Big dogs, little dogs area and they have another area for "working dogs" I didn't check that part out, but I will definitely be back here again. I like giving my doggie some off leash time, as I don't have a fenced in back yard. He loves other dogs and he just runs and runs. The southside park is pretty awesome for the kids too!!! Thank you south Huntsville for making such a pretty park, awesome park and a great afternoon for all!! He was tuckered out when we got home!

Absolute the best dog park I have ever been to. There is a small side and big side, and if you go through the big side there is a wooded area sometimes with a creek that is fantastic!! There is even a little pavillion on both sides so if it's raining at least you can stay dry! :)

I visited this dog park midday, midweek so there weren't other dogs around. Therefore, I can't say the quality of dogs and dog ownership you see at the park. However, it was clean, manicured, and large, which was great. There is water for the dogs, and there is a station for depositing pet waste. My little dog, Riley, had fun sniffing around, chasing a Robin, and running his heart out. The only downside is that there really isn't much shade. On the little dog side there is a couple trees, but in the big dog section there are none.

Love bringing the pups here, they have two great grassy spaces for both large and small dogs to play in. On top of that for the large (working) dogs there's a great wooded area with ponds and lots of other fun stuff for your dogs to get into. Just keep in mind to watch out for ticks and other critters, you are in the woods.

Apollo Dog Park is our go-to. Good sized working area for the large dogs and a good walking area with lots of trees and ponds.

Great place to take your dogs. Nice grass nice setting lots of birds chirping and big wild area for dogs to run in. Nice public restrooms and good parking.

Excellent dog park. Clean and well kept. I was impressed with how large it was. My dog had a great time.

Best dog park in the area. If you are dissatisfied with the front area of the park be sure to go through the back gate into the wooded area. It is massive area and all fenced in, have not found a better place to let the dogs run around.

So nice to have a place to really let our dog run in nature. We'll be back for sure.
