I love Southern Pain center in UC and everyone there. They make me feel welcome and help me in every way that they can. Kim Norwood and Dr. Hodgekiss are my favorite people here!

My doctor that I had it took me a minute to open up to him but he was really good and very understanding nurse Amanda is awesome but one thing I don’t like is when they switches with doctors and they leave that’s the only thing I don’t like about the place, but they’re very good with their patients And they will work with you. Just keep it real with them. And also I think the front desk ladies not trying to be mean or rude, but I think they need to be more like they like their job. Every time I’ve came in they look like they’re depressed and they’re not happy with their job. Also, another thing is if they change insurance I think they need to call the people a week ahead of time so waiting the last minute or the day of a person’s appointment. I think they need to cut a little bit better in the areas. Other everything is OK

Dr Hodgkiss and his staff were wonderful. Concerned for my comfort and explaining everything as the procedure was done. Dr H always saying ahead of time when there would be a needle and what to expect. I didn’t feel the needles but just a tiny prick of the deadening. Good job all the way around!

Dr Hodgkiss is wonderful! He talks you through all the details of every procedure I’ve had & makes you feel so comfortable. Such a great beside manner. The nurses at Southern Pain are phenomenal as well. All make me feel at ease through all my procedures & really deserve a pat on the back!

Dr. Hodgkiss seemed to genuinely care that I understood the procedure I was about to go through and took his time during the procedure. Staff was fantastic

Doctor Elisabeth Riddle was very through in her examining my pain and where it was. She and her staff were very polite and concerned to my needs. Dr. Elizabeth also gave me several alternatives to my treatment. I was very pleased with my visits there and would recommend them to anyone dealing with chronic pain.

I want to share my experience after I read a review from an unhappy camper.
I started Southern Pain years ago when Comprehensive Pain went out of business.
I followed them to the closest office to me, which is 2.5 hours from my home. Since I live in a small rural town with few doctors and no hospitals... I had little choice. The only other pain clinic chain I tried was in Jackson. That office was nasty and it felt like patients were herded and treated like cattle. I went maybe 3 times and could write a book about my experience with them.
In 2003 I was forced to retire early from a good career, not to mention, I was living in constant pain and told by several specialists there was nothing to fix my problems and a single Mom with a child starting high school.
So with few options, i relocated back to my home town in West Tennessee. I transferred all my records to my childhood family Doctor. He treated my pain until his death.
After his passing, the laws of doctors prescribing narcotics has just changed and no regular doctor I could find would take me as a new patient and immediately give me pain meds. I was finally sent to Comprehensive Pain management in Camden. I stayed with them until they closed and Southern Pain opened an office in that location. After it closed, I followed them to Union City.

My pain will increase over the next few years. It will never get better unless there are some way to build back a skeletal system. So for over 10 years I've been on the same dosage of meds. I found out Pain was going to be my future. Southern Pain has been great to discuss my problems and share ideas of alternate ways to relieve pain...without increasing my meds. Southern pain has been there to offer and suggest everything they discover that might help make me have a better quality of life.
I have RA, Lupus, Soriadic Arthritis, Chrons, Migraines Osteoporosis, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, sciatica and that's only a start.
During my "almost" 10 years of being a patient at Southern Pain...i have been treated great. There have been clinics where I felt I was treated like a hopeless bum begging for drugs.. Not to mention their office is clean, and I've never had to wait long at all to see a doctor. .
Since I live so far away, sometimes I have to reschedule my appointments. The staff and especially the nurses, always helps me work out appointment times to prevent a lapse in my meds.
Honestly, I could probably find a pain Dr a little (not much) closer to my home but the difference in miles to me is worth it to not be humiliated becaause I need pain relief..
For those looking for pain management ...Please be patient with the clinics. Pain meds are the only way many of us can walk across the floor. The law has made it difficult to be prescribed meds.
I've saw good pain clinics closed for the smallest reasons. They have to do things a certain way in order to be here for us every month.
Keep up the good work Dr Bromley, Dr Hodgkiss, Elizabeth, Tara and all the Union City Staff. After nearly 10 years, they feel like family .

Ms. Riddle is a kind and caring Dr. I have to drive over a hour to see her for insurance purposes and I’m always in and out. Never been a long wait she makes sure of that.

Doctor Hodgkiss is a great doctor! He understands a lot more about a patient than just physical pain. I strongly recommended Him if you need this type of care.

We don't always have control of the situations or the hands that we're dealt but Southern Pain, and especially Elizabeth Riddle, have always been very accommodating when it comes to my health. I still work for a living and had it not been for th care i have received from Ms. Riddle i would not be the active, vibrant person I am today. Elizabeth Riddle knows that when I come in for my appointments they usually need to be early and they need to be fast. I'm always in and out of there within a 1/2 hour. I don't plan to change or go anywhere else. Even though I live almost 2 hours away. I still will continue to come to Southern pain.
