Island Jerk

I ordered 3 large oxtail plates. I was not disappointed! The flavors were amazing, the food was piping hot and fresh, and the portions were giving big back 😂😩. Also the host there offered me free samples of their delicious fresh smoothies. I will be back. I also appreciate their honesty because they told me that it would be a 30-minute wait on the rice and peas. It was well worth the wait! The plates were heavy!

The food here is always great! I always call in advance and get my food quickly upon arrival. Definitely would recommend this place if you want some good Jamaican food. The portions are also very filling. I usually order a small and always have food left over. Omar always provides good service, and keeps you updated on your food. Thank you!

2/24 Update:
I love this place! Went back and got the curry chicken and it did not disappoint. We tried to order online but it didn't go through their system. DON'T TRY TO ORDER ONLINE! just call your order in. I was able to get the order canceled and pay in house. The owner is very friendly and got us our food quickly despite the online order problem. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!

This place is amazing! Some of the best food I've had locally in a while. This is a no frills kinda restaurant. The menu is small and not complicated. For a few dollars extra you can get a large and it's LARGE! I almost dropped my box it was so heavy. It's definitely enough for two meals.

I got the LG Goat Curry. It was so delicious. I can't say enough how good everything tasted.

This restaurant is more of a takeout restaurant but they do have a few tables and chairs if you wanna eat there. Though when we went, it was bumping in there! What I learned for next time was to just call in my order ahead of time. (not that it took very long to get our order but everyone else was doing it. They obviously were getting good business and I definitely know why!)

Service was good also. The owner was super nice. Everything is priced well for the amazing food you get.

Can't wait to come back and try the oxtails!

Literally my first time eating here and WOW!!! I had their Small Island Chicken Jerk, and it was AMAZING! The staff was super friendly and the owner came out and I spoke with her as well. I will definitely be back to try more. A hidden Gem with food that shines like a diamond 💎

The food was bomb! Jerk Chicken had so much flavor and the plantains were nice and fried. The oxtails were so tinder! I also Tried the beef patty and it was also really good. Nice and crispy!

THE BEST JAMAICAN FOOD IN HUNTSVILLE!!! The food is amazing and the staff is amazing. Omar was great to us and made sure we had a pleasant experience. We will absolutely be back.

Visited this place for the first time over Labor Day Weekend, and I must say…..the reviews did not lie! The food was good! We ordered the Jerk Chicken with cabbage and rice/peas and plantains! The dinner options come in 2 sizes small and large! The small is plenty and then some, the large could be shared by 2 people. I called ahead and was told there would be a 30 minute wait for the food and that was right on target. Keep in mind, this is not a FAST FOOD joint, and the food is cooked to order. Fresh tasting, and tender chicken! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

The Stew Chicken is amazing, the flavor the texture. It’s the perfect blend. The jerk chicken is also great. I’m looking forward to also trying the curry chicken. Great customer service and it hit every time for me. They don’t miss at all. Check them out.

The jerk chicken meal with rice and beans, steamed cabbage, and fried plantain were delicious! Call ahead of time and it wasn’t a long wait! They also have smoothies too!!

Last night I came late as they were closing
Which I understand is my fault.

I asked if I could get a plate and how much it would be the gentleman that owns the truck told me it would be $15 so I asked for two for me and my girlfriend. I ended up ordering a salad also because I wasn’t sure what she would eat the total was $56 in all.I should’ve checked the food upon leaving I get all the way home and start to eat it and the chicken was stone cold.The good thing was the Sorrell and rice was the only enjoyable thing on the plates.I come the next day to ask for a refund due to the circumstances and the woman on the truck asked me “you couldn’t just warm it up?” I was appalled from the comment and then asked her if I could get a refund in which she declined.I wouldn’t eat here if I lt was the last thing I do from a first time customer the experience was by far the worst.

Their drinks are authentic from Jamaica, something that we really liked. The service was really good even though it was one guy getting phone orders and take out orders like crazy. We have never eaten Authentic Jamaican food before and we liked it! I will say that the Jerk Chicken had a little bit BBQ flavor but my husband ate it all. I’ve ordered Curry Goat, the goat was cooked perfectly I will say this maybe a little bit of more seasoning would have make it perfect. The amount of food for the price is amazing. I couldn’t finished my plate because it was too much food but I had lunch for next day. I would say this I think is better to order take out then dine in. We definitely will go back again to try the Oxtail and either the Red Snapper or King fish!

The food is so good!! My college friends and I came for food and the worker, who I assume is the owner, kept conversation w us and gave us free beef patties🥹. So nice! We’ll definitely be back again. The smoothie place on the outside was great too!

I tried all the chicken plates, nice flavors & nourishing tasty off the bone, da bredda make our plates really good & worth the wait, patience & give thanks, this is not fast food McDonalds, it’s excellent Jamaican good cooked food, no rush. Gave this place a shot looking for something different than my normal fare. I was not not disappointed. The food was incredibly flavorful and delicious with a portion that's shareable (though I didn't share). I wish I loved in the area so I could eat there more often.

It was a bit of a wait to get my food, and it felt a little disorganized. But everyone got their food and I never felt overlooked.

Jerk chicken is really good. Oxtails and the gravy in the rice is too. You won't be hungry after a meal here!
