Butter Block

This place always has a line of people waiting for it to open. Are they really that good? I would say yes, it's worth standing in line for.

We ordered the almond croissant and the chocolate croissant, along with drinks. Both of the croissants were fluffy and fresh. I think the almond one might be my favorite. You definitely want to get some coffee. It pairs well with the croissant. The chai was nicely spiced, very tasty.

All the ladies behind the counter were very friendly. The vibes were positive. The service is quick, especially if you're just getting pastries. If you're getting coffee, you'll just have to wait a minute or two.

The atmosphere is nice. It's very bright despite being a very small space. Waiting for your coffee can be uncomfortable when it's crowded with only a few people, but there are a bunch of outdoor locations where you can enjoy your food.

Recommend almond croissant and the ham and cheese croissant. So good. Morning bun and pop tarts are also very good! Well deserved rating. Fresh bakery, helpful and friendly staff.

Scrumptious pastries to die for @butterblockbuffalo in Elmwood village in Buffalo NY. In-house bakery at the back. Lovely cappuccino too! Limited seating space inside and gets busy but definitely worth the wait. Plenty of seating in the area outside. The coconut croissant and the hazelnut croissant were unique and divine!

Cool bakery cafe on the block corner of a quiet residential neighbourhood. Very good looking and good tasting pastries with an interesting variety of flavours.

I’m not from the area but will make a point to visit when in Buffalo again.

You can smell the butter just sitting outside the building. Their food is awesome and the place has a really cool vibe. Would definitely recommend their maple bacon croissants.

Really I think everything you have heard from the farmers market about butter blocks amazing croissants and pop tarts is only half of it. I would preorder from here for any holiday. The staff is so kind. The matcha is awesome if you like a less sweet more "real" drink, and they always have desserts that surprise me. Butter block this past mothers day weekend was amazing. The raspberry tart definitely was one of my unexpected desert favorites yet. Yum!

Amazing selection of delicious pastries and baked goods. You have to get there reasonably early as things sell out. As a family, we each got something different. Each thing had a unique flavor and consistency. Everything was absolutely delicious! Great service as well. We can’t wait to return.

Despite the long line, it moves pretty quick. I didn’t know what to get so I looked at what others order but I really followed my hearts desires and filled my box with whatever I thought looked interesting. Pretty pricy, each pastry is about $8 each & it adds quickly. 4 pasty’s for over $30 is a bit much but I think this place deserves every penny earned. Popcorn eclair was fun and tasty. Everything is very sweet & sticky, be careful with how you handle your goods!

This has become one of my favorite places for baked delights. The croissants are my typical go-to but I tried a savory brioche bomb today and it was fantastic. Bacon, egg, and cheese melted into the center of a just-out-of-the-oven dough: I couldn't be happier.

Seriously the best pastries. As good as I’ve had anywhere (NYC, etc). Quality ingredients making an amazing product. Consistently delicious. I have no self control when I’m at butter block 😂🙈 Beautiful space inside too. Love the decor and all the pastries are beautifully displayed with a view into the kitchen.
They have a few extra things they only make on Sunday’s and they are well worth a stop by. The line can get long out the door but if you go closer to opening at 8am it’s usually not too bad.
The pretzel croissant with ham and cheese (sundays) is one of my favorite things they make. A perfect breakfast. The pain au raisin is also really good - they also do a version of this pastry but in a cacio e Pepe I love. (Both also Sunday only)
Any of the croissants and danishes are amazing. Always have an onion Gruyère danish and then one or two rotating flavors. Just had a blueberry one I loved. Kouign amans are also excellently done. As good as dominque Ansel version in my opinion. Love the almond croissants.
Because the pastries are so fresh and high quality, they get stale pretty quick but the plain croissants and the danishes heat up nicely which refreshes them the next day. I just put them in a pan on low heat and let them gently warm up and it gets them pretty darn close to fresh…plus the warmed up pastry is delicious.
Also great monkey bread and eclairs…and a few beautiful desserts. Can’t go wrong with anything!!

Lovely little bakery that serves the best croissants and other delicacies. The éclairs here are highly recommended. 👌 if someone is missing european coffee taste, here you would find one.

It is very clear up on laying eyed on the product. This place is special. This croissant embarrasses every other thing calling itself a croissant. All of those other things that were mislabeled as croissants were simply baking mistakes.

Very noteworthy review here. Place is amazing. World class pastries tucked away in warm and sunny Buffalo.
No review you read will do justice. No picture you see is going to mean anything until you walk in that door and the smell the brioche.
This place is a must try. Already looking forward to going back.

Amazing French style pastries! I just visited Paris a few weeks ago and these pastries are just as good as everything I had there! The lattes are great as well!

This is a divine place!
I bought coffee croissant and latte. Croissant is amazing. It's a good combination of filling with bright coffee flavor and puff pastry dough with a high quality of the butter.
Latte is awesome. Honestly one of my best cup of coffee.
The service is great. The girl who helped me was very nice and pleasant.

We came to know about Butter block recently and visited this place right at the corner. They have croissants , Cookies and others. We went late but we took Plain croissant coconut Croaaant, chocolate salted cookie Danish and coconut cookie. These have amazing taste they are not too sweet and they literally melt in your mouth. Made wKrh Perfection. Will visit again . Only catch they are open from 8 to 2. Will need to book ahead of time. But worth visiting the place. One more place added to my checklist to visit ..

A lovely and local bakery just outside of the downtown core.
If you love freshly baked goods, this would be the ideal place.
From croissants to danishes they also serve up specialty coffees and other treats.
Service is superb and very friendly.
Would highly recommend this hidden gem!

Very good, got two pastries one savory other pan au chocolate. Prices reasonable for a pastry shop. Service was awesome with all the workers being super sweet and helpful! Plus it was also cool how you could see what they were baking through a window!
