My friend and I have had the pleasure of fishing with Jason for 8 years now. We continue to book with him for good reason. Aside from him being a really fun guy to fish with he has taught us countless things about fishing. Many things I do throughout the year with fishing I do because he has been such a good teacher. He adapts very well to his clients. He works very hard for his clients and we will continue to book with him as long as we can.

First, let's talk about Jason Hoffman the man. In the months leading up to our trip Jason and I kept in touch so I had a sense about him. When we met in person it was like we had been friends for years. Jason is an absolute pleasure to be around. There is nothing false or pretentious about him. He is intelligent, witty, charming, and a great conversationalist. We enjoyed his company as much as we did the fishing.

Now let's talk about Jason the guide. I have been bass fishing for more than 50 years and have been fortunate to fish with many quality guides. None were as good as Jason. His knowledge is only surpassed by his drive to make our trip a success. February in north Texas will throw every kind of weather there is at you. Despite the constantly changing conditions Jason had us on the fish every day. He was very attentive to my goddaughter which is what I wanted. He introduced us to some new techniques and had me polish up on some old ones. My goddaughter broke her personal best three times that week including a whopper on the last day.

We have already scheduled another trip for next year. After we posted our pictures several of my friends and family members have expressed an interest in going. I told them fine but I'm fishing with Jason. Thank you Jason for providing me and Mallory with a joyous and memorable week!

We came back this year and have booked another trip for 2025. We not only consider Jason the best guide on the lake but we consider him a friend, a good friend.

In no time he taught my goddaughter to use a bait caster and it made such a difference. I doubt she will ever use spinning equipment again. During the three days we fished, Jason employed a variety of techniques, every one of which produced results, including a big fish bait which I'm not allowed to disclose. You will have to book him to find out. Mallory's 5 biggest fish for the week were close to 30lbs. Her smallest fish went 4lbs. 4oz. Professional tournament anglers would kill for that average. Close to 6lbs. per fIsh!

I consider myself an accomplished angler but every time I step on the boat with Jason I gain knowledge and expertise. Plus the pleasure of his company will keep you smiling all day. I don't believe Jason has ever met a stranger.

The live scope fishing is a blast. You can actually see the bass coming for your bait. Advice...once you see the fish on the live scope, turn away. That will keep you from setting the hook too soon.

During the week we spoke with several other guides and none came close to what we accomplished.

Thank you Jason for another memorable fishing trip. Mallory and I can't wait for next year. Each year seems to get better.

I first met and fished with Jason in May 2023 for a 3-day trip. Even though we were initially strangers when we first met, it felt like two friends hanging out for the trip. Jason's personality instantly makes you feel like you've been friends forever. In my years of going on several guided fishing trips, I've learned that while some guides are good fisherman, most are not good teachers (guides). Jason is a rare breed in that he's a great fisherman but more importantly he's an amazing guide. He's passionate about his job and is more than willing to explain and teach everything surrounding what takes place on the water. He doesn't just pull up to a spot and tell you to start casting. Jason will explain (without being asked) what is unique about each spot as far as structure, key details, and explain/show his clients proper retrieve techniques. It makes a client more in tune with what is going on rather than just fishing. He wants to see you suceed! Having fished with Jason 3 different times now, I've walked away feeling more confident and knowledgeable each time. I'm happy to call him a friend and look forward to each trip and making new memories!

Best guide I've ever been on a trip with! Has everything you need and Jason is just a cool guy to spend time with. I learn a lot from him and we also catch fish! Definitely will be back yearly on Lake Fork to catch more big bass!

We had a dang good time fishing with Jason. In spite of the wind and weather he put us on some good bass. Lots of good knowledge about fishing. Friendly and very helpful.

Highly recommended for serious fisherman as well as the novice or someone with a young person wanting to catch fish.

And as a tour guide for Lake Fork, not to minimize other local guides efforts, it couldn't be any better than Jason. He knows the water and is equipped with great technology on his boat. What a great experience, I knew nothing, having never bass fished. Jason not only gets you on the fish, but he is great teacher. After landing an 8 lb large mouth in the fall was beyond any of my expectations. I was happy not messing up the lines too often.

My uncle and I had a blast fishing with Jason. This guy has an awesome high end rig with everything possible to find the fish. He is extremely knowledgeable, knows Lake Fork inside and out and will put you on the fish. He has all the fishing gear you will need, all you have to do is show up. He puts the lures on for you, tells you what lures you should use in certain spots, takes the fish off the hook for you, etc. Most importantly, he is one of the nicest/easy going guides you will ever meet. All of his reviews are 5 star for a reason. Book your trip with this guy and you will have a great time and be taken care of.

We use guides frequently and are experienced anglers looking for new experiences. This June, we headed to fish Lake Fork and reached out to Jason Hoffman.

Jason Hoffman is the rare guide that brings the same enthusiasm that the client brings into the day. He understands that as it is another work day for him, he is taking someone out that has been looking forward to this experience for months. Jason Hoffman Lake Fork Guide Service is iconic on Lake Fork. I have fished with Jason for many years and I know this from my personal experiences Jason is honest, professional and humble. That is an amazing combination. Over a decade ago I ask on the Texas Fishing Forum who would you hire if you wanted to learn Lake Fork and learn how to be a better fisherman..........I received so much feedback and Jason’s name continued to show up from people who had personally fished with him. 11 years later I continue to fish with Jason. I have sent clients, friends and family members to fish with him. All will say the same, I had an awesome time with Jason.

Jason is a top tiered guide at Lake Fork and has extensive knowledge of the lake and surrounding areas . His boat and electronics are state of the art and super comfortable for a full day out on the water . My dad and I fished with Jason for three fulls days in which we caught multiple fish . Jason worked extremely hard to put us on fish. He taught us several different rigs (we’re first time bass fisherman) and took us to many different spots on the lake. The first day we boated 12 fish and the second day 26 fish. Most of the other boats caught 3 or less.
On top of that, Jason is a real good guy!
I highly recommend him.

Recently fished another trip with Lake Fork guide Jason Hoffman where excellence, teaching, and passion are the common themes for people on his boat. Due to the excellence of service a friend and I have returned every year for the past 7 or so years to fish as there are always learning opportunities for the seasoned angler or for someone that is just getting started. These learning opportunities translate into me taking various techniques back to my home waters and implementing them for more successful weekend trips. The number and size of fish I'm catching on my home waters has dramatically increased since i began fishing with Jason. He has unparalleled passion in fishing and he shares this enthusiasm with those on his boat. The man unequivocally works hard for his anglers to have the best chance at catching a personal best and learning how to be a better angler - lure selection (soft plastics, hard baits, sizes, etc), lure presentation, knot tying, gear setup (rods, reels, line, etc), boating considerations (battery selection, outboard knowledge, electronics instruction, trolling motor use, etc), weather changes (pre-front, frontal, and post-frontal), water (color, temp, depth, etc), seasonal patterns, safety education, and whatever else that we face on the water. The squeaky wheel usually gets the grease for these reviews, but people on the other end of that spectrum, like Jason, need mention too which prompted me to write this review. So if youre looking for a top-notch experience and maybe a personal best then I’d recommend Jason Hoffman.
