Four Cousins Ice Cream

Excellent homemade ice cream served by incredibly friendly folks. We were here nearly every night of our trip to Top Sail and were not disappointed. A couple of exciting new flavors each day with the classics every day. Lauren and crew went out of their way to ensure that we had a great experience - we will certainly be back on our next trip!

I had heard the ice cream here was amazing and we were NOT disappointed. Pistachio ice cream is one of my absolute favorites, and theirs was the best I've ever had!
It's not cheap, but then again nothing is these days, and for ice cream this good, it's worth it. I ordered 4 kiddie scoop cones and I came to $15. My kids ordered chocolate, vanilla, and coffee, respectively.
They alcohol infused ice cream as well, which looked intriguing. I will have to go back with my husband and try those out. ☺
The woman who served us was super friendly and did not seem irritated in the slightest as my kids changed their minds 10 million times before deciding on their flavors.
The outside surf-board tables were so cute and such a nice place to sit and enjoy our ice cream!

You won’t find a better food establishment anywhere in the area. This is a must visit. Best food, cooked and prepared the right way not the easy/cheap way. The customer service and staff are phenomenal. If you’re in the area this is a top of the list place to visit as often as you can.

Worth the drive to Topsail beach for this delicious homemade ice cream! We love the unique and extensive list of ice cream flavors which are top notch when it comes to flavors. The location has plenty of parking, a variety of eating spaces including inside tables/chairs, porch rockers, and outside tables/chairs.

to my knowledge, the flavors change periodically. when I was there, they had alcohol-infused ice cream (I.D. required).

Their ice cream (+ Waffles) and cappuccino are exceptional. Their warm welcome also adds to the overall experience and makes the place incredibly friendly. I highly recommend checking out the restaurant, which is conveniently located right next to them. The quality is superb, and you won't be disappointed.

One thing that stands out about this family business is how they share their special memories with their customers by hanging pictures on the wall. It's a simple but great idea that adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the place. I really love it.

Sometimes, I drive to Surf City just to catch the sunrise and grab a delicious ice cream from this place (+ Daybreak Donuts) on my way back to Raleigh. It might sound a bit crazy, but it's totally worth it.

Four Cousins ice cream is amazing! We went for the first time yesterday and we’ll certainly be back. They make everything there on site and allowed us to sample many of the delicious flavors that rotate regularly. I had two scoops in a waffle cone, my husband and kids had it in cups and we also couldn’t resist splitting an ice cream cookie sandwich on homemade chocolate chip cookies. We ate it all so fast, I forgot to take photos of our ice cream! What is even better than the ice cream is that it truly is a local family establishment. Everyone working was extremely friendly and welcoming. And the owners Holly and Larry were so kind. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Delicious Great Quality Homemade Ice Cream! Same price as competition who does NOT make homemade ice cream. Worth the short drive to the south part of the island! They even have dairy free options! Great selection of baked goods! The PB pie is to die for! Great family who do not skimp on quality! You gotta try it!

Had a good time with my wife, delicious milkshake strawberry. Add butter finger mix together. It was so delicious I recommend this to everybody.

Took advantage of a 70 degree, sunny December day and came out to walk the bridge and drove down to check this place out and it was delicious! Great flavors, all homemade. Very clean and friendly. Deli next door looks amazing too but we opted to just enjoy ice cream. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend stopping in!

As someone that could and often has eaten ice cream for breakfast - I could indulge in the ice cream here for breakfast lunch and dinner. The portions are sizable and delicious. I had the cookie butter and ginger snap ice cream bc their Christmas cookie wasn't out or was out 😅
Not like I mind coming back for it, especially now.

This place almost rivals Jenni's (and should)
Because THEIR gooey blueberry cake NEEDS to be mixed in a tub of cream cheese ice cream - much like Jenni's gooey butter cake ice cream.

So if you're not an "ice cream person", much like my husband, fear not - their bakery has your sweet tooth completely covered.

Highly recommend.

*Edited to add- yes, their ice cream prices SEEM higher, but if you think about the location, quality, and space the lot holds... It adds up and it's not out of malice. Prices are going up everywhere. Small-batch ice cream means you're not eating freezer-burnt gobs of milk and sugar that traveled miles on a truck. If you would like discount ice cream, there's a McDonald's down the road...but who knows if the machine works.

The ice cream is AMAZING!! The 2 girls working there (8/14/23) were helpful, enthusiastic, and gave us all great suggestions!! Homemade everything!! We’ll be back!!

The ice cream and pecan bars are sooo good. Tried a friend's cheesecake she order from their too. Very light and delicious 🤤 will be back before winter ends!

Absolute best place to get ice cream on the island! Everything is homemade Including the whipped cream (no canned whip here!). They also have Delicious, homemade baked goodies to take home. The owners and staff are super friendly and really love what they do. I highly recommend that you make the drive to the South end of the island to visit Four Cousins!

All of the ice cream flavors we tried were really great! We shared the ice cream flight because we wanted to try multiple flavors. The lavender chocolate chip was amazing! Very cute place! We will be back soon!

Excellent home made ice cream! Our party of 8 got a wide variety of ice cream options and nobody was disappointed in the slightest. Atmosphere and theme are very clean, the staff were amazingly friendly! Highly recommend for an after dinner dessert!

Amazing ice cream made in the building by the family. Beautiful, clean, and large place with the nicest staff ever. This place is brand new (July 2023) and I am glad they are here! So go taste the yummy ice cream as you will be so happy!

My family and I recently discovered the most incredible ice cream shop, and we can't stop thinking about it! From the moment we stepped inside and smelled the aroma of freshly made waffle cones we knew this place was going to be awesome. The selection of flavors was mind-boggling, with classics like chocolate and vanilla alongside unique creations I had never even imagined. My favorite keeps changing every day when I try something new. Today’s new favorite was the chocolate birthday cake. OMG I don’t know how they will top this one

The staff were not only welcoming and friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about their offerings. They patiently helped us navigate the array of flavors and even offered creative suggestions for combinations. It was clear that they took great pride in their craft, and it showed in every scoop they served.

After a day in the sun the ambiance of the shop was equally enchanting. The colorful decor and cheerful and joyful atmosphere added to the overall experience. It was the perfect place to enjoy a sweet treat with the kids.

They have only been opened a week and we have been here every day since they opened. I wholeheartedly recommend this ice cream shop. It's a true gem that captures the essence of pure indulgence and elevates ice cream to an art form. Treat yourself and prepare to be dazzled!
