A childhood favorite that is still around. The burgers are SO good. I recommend everything on it minus the slaw. I'm not a slaw guy. Service is awesome the waitress was sharp minded with a welcoming energy. I love the old diner feel to the place. The only thing they could change in my opinion is just let that jukebox jam. It's only 25-50 cents per song but man wouldn't it be cool if it played all day.

A 1950s diner that is perfect for any year or generation! Dinner was affordable, staff friendly, patient and pure Carolina class and courtesy.
Dessert has earned its reputation here as tops in Topsail, and one of the best on the East Coast!!

Great little beach diner that offers something for everyone! Eat inside, get it to go, or have an ice cream cone outside; there’s plenty of options. The menu has all the classics that can be customized and made to order.

Unfortunately, finding the sort of cheap burger meal that diners have been known for is getting harder and harder. Their cheeseburger has increased by $.75 in just the last eight months but only increased by a $1.75 in the last four years. The tough economy has been hitting everything hard and that’s a shame.

Pictured is the single cheeseburger “Delight Style” with a side of French fries. This option is great if you like all the classic toppings plus a special house sauce. Service was quick and friendly! They did an excellent job handling the many ice cream orders while also serving dine-in customers.

This is a VERY cute vintage cafe that offers burgers, hit dogs, shakes, ice cream and more. The fried mushrooms are perfect! Well, everything was delish!! Yummy place!

Can’t believe we’ve never tried this place before! Been coming to the island for years and just now visited. Craving a hamburger so Google led us here. We were greeted with a friendly smile and instructions to find a seat so waitress could come take our order. Coloring pages for the kids. Cool atmosphere and decorations! Food was good! Wife said double cheeseburger was delicious and kids said chicken tender sandwich was amazing. You can tell the food is fresh and made-to-order. We will definitely be coming back here every year from now on!

Hershey’s ice cream is delicious! Lots of flavors to try and. They have soft serve as well. Cute place. Nice outdoor seating as well. Family friendly. Clean restrooms.

We have been coming to the Topsail/Surf City area for over 10 years and neither of us had ever eaten here until this weekend (I think we always thought they only served ice cream). We went on the recommendation of the sales associate at Bert's and we were VERY impressed! The decor was very kitschy and very retro ... lots of cool stuff.

The food was DELICIOUS! We both had hamburgers and quite honestly this was probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Fries were hot and very good. Service was fast!

HIGHLY recommend. We will be back the next time we visit Surf City.

Good cook to order food, but a bit pricey. We are a family of 4 and spent $70 on food and icecream. Great service with a smile.

Island delights really is a delight. We got a chocolate malt shake, it was so good. The chicken salad pita was delicious, and fries with gravy was some type of comfort food I didn't know I needed lol. The staff were very friendly, the diner was kept very well clean, and everyone had smiles on their faces while exploring all of the neat items and old fashioned games. Will be returning. Highly recommend!

Our server was prompt, friendly, and courteous. The hamburgers were fixed fresh, so they were hot and delicious. The orange aids were a blast from the past. Even though we ate at 3:30, and were the only people there, everyone was still eager to serve us.

Our family stops in every visit to the beach for burgers and ice cream. Great service and atmosphere with a 50's themed layout. A visit to this establishment has become a tradition for us; make it one for you too!

Old fashioned burger place with nostalgic atmosphere with great old fashioned items, good quality food, and very nice service staff. We came after the beach, sun burned, exhausted and hungry and they delivered a wonderful experience. I have 6 kids so they know how to handle large chaotic parties as well.

This is a great Ol' Timey, burger place. The vintage items around the restaurant are wonderful to look at. There's an old juke box in the corner to add to your experience. The food and service are great. After your meal, get some dessert with a cup or milkshake from thier hand scooped ice cream counter. It was the best.

LOVE this little 50's style diner & all of its memorabilia! I have been going since moving to Hampstead in 2011 & it remains my favorite for casual dining, for the nostalgic atmosphere, kindly service, & good food. You cannot get onion rings & fried mushrooms everywhere, ya know. Order ahead, like I do, & grab it to take to the beach with you on your way in...

We came at a really busy time during the lunch hour and our order got misplaced, so it took a really long time for our food to finally come out, but when it did, the food was excellent! And, the manager came out and made things right by offering the family ice cream, compliments of them. Nice family restaurant! We will definitely return when coming back to the area.

Best Hamburger place on the island. You know summer is near once they open. From the minute you walk in , are served, and have eaten, you feel great. The staff is amazing. The quality of the food is terrific.. A true must stop either for a meal or just for ice cream.

Excellent Burgers and Fries….the single is good size! Very good shakes. Working old Jukebox bring your quarters to play your favorites!
