Took my Salsa in to upgrade the drivetrain. They took great care of me, updating me on the wait time for the kind of niche parts I wanted, and helping me source my own parts as needed with their guidance and suggestions. Price was very reasonable for all the work, and my bike has been an absolute joy to ride after the upgrade. I've also bought a lot of accessories from them too - great selection! A valuable asset to our local bike shop ecosystem 🙌🏼

Dropped off my bike to get the brakes bled for the season. Mitch and Brett were awesome! They were super cool with my 1yr old daughter walking all over the shop checking things out. It’s great to have a neighborhood shop close by that cares so much about high quality service delivered with complete honesty. Highly recommend you come here to get a new bike or keep your current bike up a running. They have a good supply of accessories in items for little kids and toddlers in stock. It’s a cool place. These cats are awesome! I came in on Saturday with a rattling in the front end somewhere, and they were able to 1) diagnose it (rogue bearing in wheel hub) and 2) fix it in about 30 minutes for a VERY reasonable price. They were the only folks open for the holiday weekend, and I am very grateful that they could fix my bike the same day. My bike is my main mode of transportation, so being without it would have been quite stressful. Thank you so much!!!

Couldn't have had a better experience, brought my vintage BMX in for a tune up and they were more then happy to take on the project. Always kept me in the loop on the estimated time and did a great job getting it smooth as butter. Would give more stars of I could! Highly recommend them for all bike repairs and will be returning if I need more.

Best bike shop in town! The guys are all so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful! Even the shop itself is a really good vibe. I knew what my bike’s purpose would be and not much else, and they helped me narrow down sizing, brands, and components. They have a really good selection of different bikes/brands and TONS of gear/accessories. I’ll be coming back for service and accessories for sure! Whether you know exactly what you want or not, I highly recommend having a chat with the team at Black Saddle, they won’t steer you wrong.

Great local bicycle shop & service! Went here looking for a solid new bike for year-round commuting and fun rides, staff listened to my needs and experience and made a great recommendation, the Surly Bridge Club. Assembled the bike quickly and set it up with all the accoutrements I was looking for. The Base Miles coffee mix is also delicious!

Since moving to Madison this has been the best shop to go to for anything bike related.

They did an excellent job bringing a classic bike back to life. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Great job.

This shop is amazing. They were able to repair my kids bike super quick and then help us get the right hardware for our rack. Super prompt and kind service. I'm glad they are in the neighborhood.

One of the mechanics here performed a challenging fix on my husband's vintage bike. The spokes were poking through too far into the rim causing frequent flats. I'm writing this on behalf of him... It sounded like it entailed a lot of tricky/tedious handwork. Two other local bike shops failed to properly diagnose and fix the issue. We will absolutely keep coming here for bike maintenance needs. Cool people, cool shop.

My new favorite bike shop. I got a great deal on a new bike for my daughter (check out Jamis bikes for entry level bikes). Staff were super helpful. They carry lots of different brands too. 5 stars all day.

This place is the bee's knees! I have recently been riding a bicycle MUCH more and even invested in an ebike. No matter the problem or issue, the folks here will take care of you, and even took some time to fix my chain on a moments notice. They are respectful and get the job done. The tune up they offer is complete worth it and made my 2014 Verza feel brand new

Great experience. Brought my bike in for a spring tuneup, and it came back cleaner than it’s been in years. The mechanics got my bikes breaks working great, and shifting perfectly. The work was done within my budget and the owner even offered me a cup of coffee. 5/5 would recommend!

Great new(ish) shop that focuses on repairs. Mitch was extremely thorough in his inspection so I didn't have any surprise expenses. My 17-year-old commuter rides like new again. I also appreciated the nod to Black Flag in the shop logo. Will definitely go back.

My wife and I visited Black Saddle Bike shop in hopes of finding a pair of new bikes. We unknowingly walked in the back door finding ourselves in the shop area. We walked out the front door with 2 new bikes and accessories. Mitch was friendly, knowledgeable, very low pressure and a pleasure to work with. We drove an hour and half each way to get there and will not hesitate to go back.
