Everything about Forge Southern Comfort is just top notch, down to the darling napkin rings. We came for the Sunday brunch and our server was just fantastic. Forge is able to elevate southern comfort food without falling in the trap to being pretentious. It is everything that you want in a great restaurant. It was by far the best meal we've all had in quite some time, to the point that we're talking about driving up the two hours just to go eat at Forge.

My husband and I visited here for lunch after searching for restaurants who served shrimp and grits. We were seated shortly after arriving. It was a nice atmosphere with tvs and good music. It was so many great choices on the menu so we opted for the scallops for our appetizer and a side of collard greens. They were so juicy and flavorful. I ordered the crispy chicken and waffles which were served with pecans. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. We were not disappointed! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area looking for a great meal. We can't wait to go back to enjoy more of this menu!

First time here and definitely won't be my last. Everything we had was absolutely phenomenal. Frog leg gumbo was fire as well as the shrimp and grits. Staff was very polite, and service was on point. If you haven't been here, you're definitely missing out on the best food I've ever had in North East Maryland.

Absolutely incredible. The chefs' passion for their craft really carries through in their innovative spins on classic comfort food. The whole team really cares about what they do and your experience. All around a place worth returning to, repeatedly. Looking forward to next season's menu!

A 6:30 dinner reservation started with cocktails and a gratus cornbread in the skillet. I ordered the pork loin special and my wife the crab cakes. The cakes I’ve had before. They are excellent. The star of the meal was the flavor of the pork loin sauce and sides. I was reminded of the Disney movie, Ratatouille, when French food critic tastes the chef’s specialty, his look of surprise and appreciation. Chef Tom, you have created magic!

What a great dining experience! Great food and nice serving sizes (not too little and not too much) with a nice Southern style to it. The waiter was attentive and made great effort to highlight all of the evening's special dishes which they were offering. The menu is delightfully smaller than many places and seems very carefully and deliberately curated. My experience with establishments that offer more limited menus is that the dishes are usually mastered and exceptional and, in this respect, Forge did not disappoint. We were treated to a wonderful corn bread with a citrus butter which has led me to believe that all butter should have a touch of orange or maybe lemon. I ordered the Roasted Red Pepper and Crab Cream soup, Lemon Balm Pesto Pasta, and Key Lime Pie and enjoyed all of them very much. I would like to imagine that all of their menu items as expertly prepared as what I ate.

Great food, drinks, and service. Worth the drive from Lancaster county

I had the cocktail winter in white and the salmon fish. Both crafted and excellent. Will be returning soon!

The food here is amazing. I had gumbo and arancini, my friend had roasted red pepper cream of crab soup and fried catfish. Every bite was cooked to perfection and seasoned well.

Amazing place with creative and delicious dishes. Love the seasonal menus and that there’s always something new to try. You can’t go wrong with the chicken and waffles but last night we were absolutely amazed with the new pork belly appetizer. Love coming here when my family visits or for special occasions. The food is not only delicious but you can tell it’s a labor of love and creativity

Absolutely wonderful spot! Everything we ate was delicious. Nicely cooked & well seasoned meats. The ribs were flavorful with a balanced BBQ sauce. The small cornbread & whipped butter at the start was a nice touch - it almost had a bit of a faint citric taste. Would visit again!

I don't know how anyone can give this place anything lower than 5 stars ✨. The food is DELICIOUS. The ambiance gives me Philly & New York vibes. Service was great. Highly recommend ordering a mocktail. The chicken and waffles 🧇 are Soooooo good.

Okay this place is amazing! I have no idea why such a high quality restaurant is in the middle of nowhere but they really blew us away. You have to stop in and check it out!

Our server was Kimberly and she was the most helpful and friendliest server I've had in ages. She talked us through the whole menu, really made us feel like we were old friends, and just had a wonderful demeanor.

We tried the chicken and waffles which was amazing, the shrimp and grits, the flourless chocolate cake, the pineapple capirinha, and the smokey cocktail I can't remember the name of and it was all 10/10. I definitely recommend this place.

The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one is that the cornbread they served best when we sat down was a little cold but still very good.

Kimberly was amazing! She has a perfect memory and very attentive. This is a million dollar restaurant in Chicago where I live. Come support small business.

After a long day out in the cold, this was the meal I needed. The chicken and waffles hit the spot. Sorry for the photo, was so hungry I dove right in. The crisp fried chicken with the soft warm waffle drizzled with jalapeño syrup pasted my expectations. The portions so large I’m going to take it home for a second meal. Thanks to the wait staff for a great experience!!

A great restaurant is made by providing a great dining experience. What a great place! I just had one of the best restaurant experiences that I've had in a long time. The food was carefully prepared and delicious, the cornbread was the best you'll ever have and the drinks were tasty craft. The hostess/owner was warm, welcoming and accommodating. The bar manager was attentive, friendly and fun. And at the end of our meal, the head chef/owner stopped by our table to check in on us. Thank you Forge Southern Comfort, we'll be back!

Dinner and service were top notch ! From start to finish we had an amazing meal all locally sourced. Everything was prepared to perfection and served promptly. Our server Payton was superb! Payton’s signature Watermelon Hibiscus cocktail was the perfect starter for the evening.
Here are some pics and our menu from our date night… we loved this place and look forward to returning !
Atmosphere a 4 only due to volume of sound throughout. Recommend additional sound baffles to muffle volume. On the bright side, the sound was loud because ALL were having a great time enjoying one another over superb meals ! 😁

Starters:
Hot Nashville Spice Rub | Local Honey | Scallions Wings
Homemade cornbread with maple honey clover butter with a hint of citrus. Served in individual cast iron skillets

Main Meal:
Chicken Piccata
Chicken & Waffles

Dessert:
Key Lime Pie / Fresh Whipped Cream | Lime Wheel
Peach Shortcake / Peach Burbon Jam | Fresh Whipped Cream | Brûlée Peaches -

Keep up the great work !! Forge is a tucked away secret of Northeast ! Looking forward to returning soon!
Thanks for an amazing meal we will not forget!

What an excellent first time dining experience at Forge. Immediately greated and seated. Our waitress was superb, she was on point and friendly. We started with the caprese, light and refreshing. Our cocktails were also refreshing and tasty. Hubby enjoyed the forged in smoke apple pie. I kicked back with the elder goose and twilight crush. Now for the main course.. my cowboy 18oz ribeye (I shall suggest they introduce a 20oz cowgirl ribeye 🤤 on their menu).. it was cooked perfectly, tender and delicious. The brussel sprouts.. nom nom.. crisp, fresh doused in amazing flavors and the potatoes were tasty as well. My only regret is, I left no room for dessert. My hubby had the herb crusted lamb, he was pleasantly surprised with the large portion paired with the quality and flavor. He was very pleased with his dish. We were both skeptical, as we had our little one with us, and the dinning area is large and open. However, I believe we arrived early enough to beat the dinner crowd. There were plenty of other families dining as well, so it is definitely family friendly. We left very happy with our experience with our bellies full and satisfied. We are already looking forward to returning.

Wow... I sat at the bar and had a drink while my Togo order was being made. I grew up in the south and no one up here in Maryland understands grits, or chicken and waffles for that matter.

This place reminds me of the south. The only downside is the price. This is cheap soul food down south. However I still give it 5 stars because it's the only thing that comes close to good southern food. The chef is brilliant.

Wow

Thank you for the deep south taste this close to the mason Dixon. If you don't believe me... eat the shrimp and grits then fly 4 hours to new Orleans and get in a car and drive an hour south into Houma Louisiana and try any mom and pop shrimp and grits. You will see why this is worth it way up here in Maryland.

This is one of the most amazing, down to earth, culinary experiences we have had in a long time. The drinks were an experience all their own, well thought out, flavorful and with a bit of flair that actually adds to the taste.

The oysters were fresh, flavorful and with a Maryland down home twist that made them interesting and delicious.

My husband had the salmon and I had the stuffed rock fish. I promise you, you have never had these dishes so well done outside of a Michelin rated restaurant. The owner/chef came out, spoke to everyone and was part of the special touch making it worth the drive.

Our server was also a special treat, recommending dishes and just overall being a treasure to experience. Please patronize this establishment, I want to be able to visit for years to come.
