A small part was needed to protect the ignitiin key slot. I ha called several stores listed as local not in stock, heres an address or a phone number out of state ect.
Then i called Fairwinds they had 4 in stock.
Said I would be there shortly. When I arrived it was on the counter with my name on it waiting for me. When they were ready toring up the sale my account was still in the system.

Couldn't ask for anything better.

It’s the only place I will take my boat for repairs the mechanics or trustworthy.. And they only fix what is absolutely needed. They will let you know upfront what it will cost. I think it’s the best place in Maryland for boat repairs.

My name is Joe and I am not one to write reviews, tweet, share, post or any of the trendy on line stuff that people seem to find time to do however, I MUST voice my view and experience that I had at Fairwinds. I am not entirely new to boating but it has been a long time since I owned or operated a boat. After many years of waiting, looking and researching we finally decided it was time to buy a new boat. Actually, Fairwinds was not our first choice. Sadly we had gone to a big, multiple location national dealer. The short version; I think if we had been in the market for a million dollar boat we would have been served better. I was ready to give up. then I happened to Fairwinds. Larry, Richard and the rest of the people at Fairwinds could not have been more accommodating and understanding of our needs. the service was stellar. Buying a new boat should be a happy experience and the people at Fairwinds did that perfectly. My only regret is that I didn't find them sooner. I am looking foreword to a lasting relationship and will continue to do business with them.

Amazing customer service with a shocking amount of inventory.

Purchased one of the rental boats from Larry and was very pleased with the transaction both in terms of communication and the condition of the boat. Also appreciated the walkthrough of the boat / engine from Chuck. I would highly recommend working with Fairwinds and would trust them with either service or a purchase.

I took my boat into Fairwinds marine after being told by 2 other marine repair shops that I need new shift cables, and additional other service. I had heard they were under new ownership and thought I would give them a try since they are closer to my home. I gave them a list of items to check out. and they did. They got to the boat when they said they would and estimated very timely. They told me I did not need new cables, but rather just adjustments. All the repairs they made were good and the adjustments did fix the shift problem. I was going to sell boat since it is getting older, but now have decided to keep the boat since I have found a shop that is convenient and that I can trust. I strongly recommend them

Both my good buddy and I keep our boats at this marina and could not be more pleased with the service. Staff is al ways helpful and kind. The marina itself is well kept and manicured. Larry even helped us out late in the day when we were in a pinch. Overall, highly recommended for anyone who needs wet or dry storage for their boat. Great place!

A nice, quiet place, nestled in the Cape St. Claire neighborhood. It has a little beach area.

I was recommended by neighbor. I have been a bit hesitant to go to another mechanic after my many issues with a shop in my area that was completely incompetent. Chuck nailed the diagnosis and the repairs were better than factory. The diagnosis was written and detailed plus my old parts were returned. It’s been nearly two months and she runs like a top. Very satisfied!

The new owner has really transformed this business. If you hear about any problems, chances are it is folks experience from the past. Give them a try! Have done outstanding work on all our Youth Sailing program Yamaha outboards each year. Fairwinds cares about their customers, and supports the local boating and sailing community.

Safety in the storm! Thanks so much to Bill and Brian who let us tie up and wait out a fast moving thunderstorm. Our kids loved the ice cream! :)

My experience at Fairwinds Marina was totally professional. Couldn't ask for better service. I will surely be back, I was blown away by they're classic and antique outboards. They have some real nice stuff, not junk as I read in one review. Sure there are some parts motors but they are marked as such. I was half afraid of going there after reading some reviews but was totally satisfied with the experience. I've purchased a lot of outboard motors and after paying for them I was left to haul them to the truck myself. These fellas made sure they carried everything to my car I just showed them where to put them. Most times folks leave reviews its because they're dissatisfied, just remember there are two sides to every story. I had a great time ! Check out they're ebay store there is a reason they have 100% positive feedback

Larry was awesome throughout and after our purchase! We had some minor issues with fabric & decals before and after the sale and Larry made it right! Very professional and outstanding person. Thanks Larry we love our 222 Wellcraft!

I have used services at Fairwinds Marina since August 2011. Services included storage, winterization, de-winterization, bottom/outdrive painting, engine and outdrive repairs. I have consistently been satisfied with the service provided and prices have been reasonable. Since Larry Goldberg and his daughter, Joanna, have taken over its ownership and operations a couple of years ago, I have witnessed a significant improvement in the property and professionalism of its staff. Recently, the staff was most helpful in getting my 2004 Crownline ready to sell. Joanna effectively arranged and coordinated most of the activities such as painting, maintenance services, launching, and storing it on a stand and in a slip. Chuck (lead maintenance tech) and Richie did a superb job of repairing a compression problem with the engine and subsequently doing de-winterization maintenance to ready the boat for launch. The paint crew did an equally superb job or removing barnacles from the outdrive/propeller, painting the outdrive, and bottom painting the hull. When it came time for the boat's buyer to do a sea trial, Larry (the owner) expedited getting the boat in the water by operating the lift himself with the able assistance another staff member, Bill. Bill was most helpful in getting the boat refueled and identifying a slip to put the boat in after the sea trial. The boat performed perfectly during the sea trial. Just prior to closing on the sale I noticed a noise coming from under the boat's head. I asked Chuck (lead maintenance tech) to check it out -- within two hours he had identified the problem (stuck float on the sump pump under the head) and provided guidance on how to resolve the problem. The transfer of ownership of the boat went without a hitch due in large part to the support I received from the Fairwinds staff. I am a very satisfied customer and strongly recommend Fairwinds to others.

Great mechanics shop
Chuck fixed my very old Evinrude 8HP outboard motor at a very reasonable cost.
I was afraid I had blown the head gasket when it overheated but Chuck properly diagnosed that only the impeller and thermal sensors had failed

I had my boat serviced at this facility twice and both times were a pleasurable experience and the work was done right the first time. They also have a huge inventory of parts and seem to have what I need in stock.

Need parts ? Need older parts that you thought you'd need to mail order, give Fairwinds a try. I rarely come away from the store without finding what I need, from hardware, paint, epoxy, trailer parts... you name it. IF they don't have it, they can get it as well.

Excellent location to points North, East and South on the bay. Close to the bay on the Magothy. Plus, the Magothy is a beautiful river.
The people I've met at Fairwinds are friendly and very helpful.

I had an unpleasant experience with the owner last summer. I rated this place one star. The owner found me and called me. He remembered the incident and apologized. Thank you. Seems like it was just a misunderstanding.

A long established marina with engine service, ships store and lots of slips. The docks need work pretty bad though, so hopefully the get on it. A seawall or wave interruption wall needs built as well, most slips are wide open to waves from the Magothy River.
