Holland's Shelter Creek Restaurant

Great little place we stopped at on our way out of town from a week at the beach. They had a large choice of bar food and some seafood options. We had a burger, chicken tenders, chicken wrap and scallop special. They give the table a free order of hush puppies that was cool! Service was quick and friendly.

This small town seafood restaurant is one of the absolute best places to eat outstanding seafood in the area. The restaurant is clean. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and fun. Its about a mile off US Hwy 17 in my home town, Holly Ridge NC and only 4 miles away from Surf City and the beach. I try to eat there every time I go to visit my family. I definitely recommend stopping in and enjoy the small town atmosphere and the wonderful food. I took more leftovers home than what I ate in the restaurant. Love, love, love it!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had not eaten here since they moved off of highway 53. The food was good, we had fried scallops, shrimp and flounder. We had enough for us to take home for dinner. The waitress was attentive and polite. We had been to the Honey Bee Festival in Holly Ridge so we were in the area. Nice treat for my 91 year old mother who loves seafood!

Only downside was they allow dogs in the restaurant. Can’t get used to this concept and can’t believe the health dept allows it.

Wonderful place for seafood. Portions were too big to eat in 1 seating. So happy you had frog legs on the menu. They were delicious🐸!
Allowed us to sit outside on back porch, didn't want to disturb anyone, so dog could join us and not be left in car.

This was my first time eating at the new location. It was very nice. The food and service were outstanding. I recommend the Cajun catfish and shrimp. It's delicious. They also have a full bar now. Check it out for a good meal.

Loved this restaurant, they made us feel like family and the food was always excellent! Ate there at least once a week over the past 5 months! We travel a lot so we know our food! Hope to one day cross their path again so we can enjoy another delicious meal! Definitely going to miss them. ❤

I always enjoy visiting HSC Restaurant. The meals are always delicious and served in ample portions. Show up early - there will be a line! Well worth the wait. There is seating out front for the wait. Oh - there's outside dining available, if you prefer, as well.

Very nice lil hole in the wall. Food was great and portions were big. Everything we ate had great flavor. Service was good and friendly and the decor was lil bit of everything.

This was a lovely restaurant, food was a amazing and the server was precious. I really wish I got her name to give her credit.

Although it's in a different location now, this has been a great seafood restaurant for decades. The prices are very reasonable and the food never disappoints. The staff is always southern style friendly. We actually met the owners this past trip and ended up chatting with them for over an hour at the bar. Great people.

Tge restaurant is still working out the kinks, but overall the service was tremendous. The wait staff was warm and friendly. The refilled our drinks timely and were very accommodating to an elderly couple sitting behind us the expected them to bring them the moon. The food was a significant wait,however it was crowded and tasted very made to order so no complaints in that area. Will visit again for sure. We had frog legs, catfish, shrimp and bbq at our table. The shrimp should be listed as popcorn though, just fyi. Great portions and reasonably priced (average 15.per person )

I had the small oyster plate with okra and cole slaw. It was awesome you get a lot for your money and I promise, you won't go away hungry. The service was top notch as well. It is definitely worth the stop.

This is the same crew from Holland's Shelter Creek Restaurant in Burgaw, but reborn, bigger and better in Holly Ridge, NC. They serve some of the best seafood around. I enjoy all their catfish, Cajun, and country style entrees. Very southern decor, with lots of antiques and pictures. There's traditional seating inside, a banquet room, a screened in porch, and an open air deck. There's also a huge back yard, with so much room for activities! The bar area is large with two big screen TVs, full liquor service, and several beers on draft that rotate seasonally. The staff is friendly and full of southern charm. Get here early or you'll have to wait. Tonight I had the fried shrimp and deviled crab combination platter, my favorite on the menu.

Went to Holland's tonight for seafood. It was very busy and we had to wait but it was worth the reward. The shrimp were delicious and hot. Just opening this week the staff is working very hard to make sure everyone is happy and the food is hot. Do try this place out and be patient it will be worth it. Say hello to Steve Holland when you go!!

First time going to this new location. We really miss it not being in Burgaw anymore. Went for my birthday dinner with my life long friends 🤠. Tastes just like it used to. Everything really good. Had a birthday drink from the bar. The prices have gone up very little since having to relocate to Holly Ridge. We all enjoyed it!!

Lovely restaurant with a down homey feel, good food, friendly staff. Service was amazingly fast, including the hot complimentary hush puppies. A good value for the money. We will be back soon!

Enjoyed fresh, hot seafood. Pleasant atmosphere & perfect service. More than enough for 2 meals.
