The Human Bean

Human Bean in Atascadero, hands down some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Not only do they serve up one of the best Chai’s, the service and experience is stellar. I was greeted by friendly faces, amazing service and great coffee. 11/10 would drive 30 minutes just to grab another fire side chai and the little chocolate bean they give me on my drink.

Human Bean has amazing coffees and delicious mocha! They have good hours and great employees. Today they shared with us here at Planet Fitness!

Good coffee and unique drinks. You can’t go sit inside and have coffee, but there’s an outdoor walk up window and a drive thru with a nice and easy to read menu. I like all the various flavors they offer for their coffee. Just the right balance of caffeine and sweetness.

I used to drink Starbucks all the time, and thought that was good coffee until I had a coffee drink from here. The coffee is delicious and not weighed down with other ingredients.
I had chocolate macadamia drink and it was so good and not a lot of carbs for when you want something special.

Love the Java chip smoothie, sooo good! They were out of kids cups which was a bummer. Service is a little slow, but the drinks are delicious

Always friendly, good coffee. The kids smoothies are a great size and flavor, my toddler loves their mango flavor.

It's better than its competitors, and it's definitely a superior value.

I cant say enough good stuff about the Human Bean! Honestly, this place has great coffee and non coffee drinks. It's amazing that I can go to the Human Bean in Templeton, order a drink and it will taste exactly like the same beverage from the Atascadero Store. I could order the same drink 20 times, it will taste the same everytime. This is the kind of consistency I look for in a coffee place. Ice gone to other high end coffee shops, ordered a beverage that I had last week and it will taste totally different. I thought there was a mix up and I received someone else's coffee. No, it was the same beverage. This has happened to my husband and I several times. We just quit buying coffee from these places. HumanBean has restored my faith in coffee drinks that come with whipped creme. I have had to make a resolution not to drink so many Frozen Hot Chocolates with 2 shots of espresso daily. I try to keep it down to once a week. The staff is so sweet, too! They are friendly and they work fast. I try to show them my appreciation by leaving a nice tip. I encourage everyone to leave a tip. They really do earn their wage/salary at the drive in coffee shops. There is no down time. When there are no cars, they are cleaning the store and restocking. I saw this first hand when I ordered drinks for me and a friend and was waiting at outside the tables at the Templeton HB. After they gave me my order, they immediately went into cleaning mode, restocking and whatever the duties entailed. It was very impressive. My favorite drink is the frozen hot chocolate. They have plenty of non caffeine drinks also. There is always something for everyone at Human Bean.

I can not express in words how much I thoroughly enjoy coming to this place. Great coffee, great food, amazingly, friendly service and it's all greatly priced! Whether early in the morning or late at night, the staff are always welcome and ready to assist which just makes me eager to come back for more. Keep up the great work guys!! (this place is better than Starbucks, change my mind.)

I've been there 2x and I love it. What's great is their regular coffee is not bitter and the other drinks are great too. You've got a new customer. Sorry Starbucks!!!

Drove through here today for the first time. Not sure if today was the opening day but it seemed like it. Menus are a little bit confusing. They don't have a list of any of their food offerings so you have to ask what they have as well as their alternative milks which if I'm remembering correctly are: Almond, Coconut, Oat, Hemp, and Macademia milk. They also don't show all of their seasonal drinks on the menu (pumpkin and caramel apple) They also don't take AmEx. Drive through is a little confusing. If you go too far you'll miss the drive through lane and end up back on El Camino. This is also not a sit down joint. It's only a drive through.
Coffee is excellent. Tried the Irish cream and the Caramel Hazelnut mocha. They are not too heavy on the sweetener and have a nice mild flavor. All employees wear appropriate gear (masks and gloves) They're also very friendly and helpful and each of your drinks come with a chocolate covered coffee bean!

Yes ! GREAT Iced White Mocha ! Really nice people . Finally a drive thru I feel good going through. And the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Gluten free granitas are going to be a great treat for my son who has celiacs. Couldn’t be happier about this new addition to our community!

Great friendly customer service with a great selection of different drinks, not just limited to purely coffee. Worth checking out if you haven't been, seemed to have some really fun flavors I will be going back for.

The staff at Atascadero’s newest coffee spot are extremely friendly, well trained, and provide the speedy service you can want from a drive-through stand.

When thrown curveball orders and questions, they were quick to accommodate and worked well as a team to answer a question the window team member didn’t have an answer to. Very impressive service, especially considering I was visiting on opening day. Props to the management team for their obvious attention to customer service, speed, and attention to detail when training team members.

I ordered an off-menu Orange White Chocolate Frappuccino (I learned blended drinks are called Granitas), and when asked if my order was complete, was also told of their food offerings which I’d previously searched for online and not found. Great job on the polite, unobtrusive up sell.

My Orange White Chocolate Granita was perfect, not overly sweet, great flavor, and the right consistency. I also appreciate that they asked if I’d like a straw rather than giving me one by default.

The only suggestions I have for management are minor:
- Invest in a contactless payment terminal that can be held out the window so customers don’t need to hand their phone to team members when using Apple Pay. This is especially beneficial during the COVID Pandemic.
- Look into using biodegradable cups rather than plastic. As much as I love seeing the beautiful creations through the clear plastic, I care more about the environment and the impact of billions of single-use plastic cups from coffee shops. Reducing straw use is a big step, but there’s more we can do.

I love this place. Super friendly staff and really good smoothies. Love all the options compared to other places. And my dog loves the pup-cup!

This place has a good mix of items available. Coffee drinks, smoothies, and various seasonal items. As well as a few munchies.

The staff is always very prompt, and extremely polite

10/10 best coffee shop in Atascadero. Coffee and bagels were great! The staff was extremely friendly! Buy the chocolate covered espresso beans and thank me later.

This place is awesome! The young people working there are all, everyone, kind and always cheerful and smiling. This place is way better than any other coffee place hands down.

Best customer service of any coffee chain I've ever tried. WAAAAAAY better than Starbucks and delicious little chocolate covered espresso beans that come with each drink.

The smoothies are my favorite and I love that they have Red Bull drinks. The customer service is always great they’re super nice and friendly.
