Cowfin Bar and Grill

Me and the wife originally went to Surf City to try another spot, but it was closed and we decided to give this place a try. It was close to where we were at and they had smash burgers lol. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. Multiple tvs. Not a football fan though so didn't watch to much. I prefer hockey or mma. Anyways the staff was friendly and took care of us. The smash burgers were AMAZING!!!! I got the one with bacon and mac and cheese and my wife got the bacon, peanut butter and jelly one. The frys were good and the corn casserole was good. We will definitely be back. My one and only complaint is the portion sizes. The burgers were kinda of small for the price and the sides ...although good....we're also small. I got home and ate more after lol. We will be back though bc the burgers were that good. I'd recommend this place for sure if you like good burgers, drinks and TV.

The beer was cold and great price! I had a chicken wrap with sweet potato fries yummy.. my boyfriend had the hamburger steak and liked that as well. We enjoyed it

Small but good bar & grill. Stopped by for an early dinner. We started with the moo fries(sorry no pic), then phillycheese steak w/ fried squash, and triple decker club w/ mac & cheese. Everything was delicious & friendly service. With a try!!!

Cowfin is a sports bar and restaurant just off the Topsail island in Surf City. Their menu is typical bar food with a large selection of smash burger hamburger, loaded mac and cheeses and other appetizers, sandwiches, and salads. We had mozzarella sticks, wings and bang bang mac and cheese and it was all phenomenal. Oh and Don't forget the Moo fries. All were phenomenal. The wings were a tad smokey and perfectly crispy. The fries were amazing with the grilled onion making an oddly tasty addition to cheese fries. The bang bang shrimp were good but could have used a little more sauce. Beer and vodka were on point too. Our server Megan gave great service. 💯 A great spot for lunch or dinner.

I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to discover this gem! As a self-proclaimed smash burger aficionado, I give the classic burger my seal of approval 🤩
Our server was a total gem. She had a easy going vibe, but was also sincere and super sweet to my baby!
The cheese fries were so good I had to order two (diet, who?!), and the collard were perfect! The decor was super eclectic so if you decide to dine alone, you’ve got a lot to look at.

I can’t wait to go back!

TLDR; family friendly, get the burgers, get the moo fries, service was excellent.

We visited Cowfin for the first time tonight and I can without a doubt say it will not be the last time. I think we found our new favorite restaurant. The smash burgers were the best we've had. My husband had the Mac Attack while I had the Smokehouse BBQ. Both burgers were phenomenal. My son ordered the kids cheeseburger which was a GREAT size! We also had the moo fries as a side, my son tried the onion rings, and we tried the Mac n cheese. It was outstanding. We were not disappointed in the slightest with anything. We look forward to our next meal at Cowfin. So happy to have something so delicious so close!!

Visited for dinner on a busy Friday night, the dine in seating area is rather small so we took a seat at the bar! Great drink menu although we didn’t drink this evening. Service was prompt and the smash burgers are legit & SO dang good! I had the Carolina Classic with sweet potato fries (which were THE best I’ve had, like EVER) my husband had the Smokehouse Burger with the moo fries and he thoroughly enjoyed his, too! Our food came fast and it was piping hot- which I love!!! I was watching other orders come out and everything looked delish on those plates as well. The atmosphere was great- you won’t be disappointed here!

My husband and I were on vacation and came here for dinner one night. They were quick, friendly, prices were great, & the food was amazing! I got the bang bang shrimp Mac n cheese and my husband got seafood. We loved our meals and definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!!

Super good food! For just opening, the servers were awesome and everything was great. By far one of the better places in the area. The portion sizes are almost too generous. This place will definitely be on our list of regular places to eat at.

Best restaurant not only in Surf City but all of North Carolina!!! The drinks are off the chart! The atmosphere for football Sunday is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of the menu items and to top it all off, everything is homemade!! Chef fou really knows how to throw it down!! Whenever I am in North Carolina I will always make sure to stop at Cow Fin!!

I had the chicken fried chicken with fried okra, hush puppies, and mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was delicious and the portions were large.

There was a wait but the food was worth it. The restaurant is not very large. They have a good menu selection. I love the burger and fries. I wish they had Dr. Pepper. Our server was excellent!

If you're looking for a place to eat, stop. Check this place out! Blew Daddy Mac's out of the water!!! We've ate there, Rick's, and a few other places. This was our favorite so far. We got the peanut butter bacon smash burger and the mac attack burger, they2 were amazing.

Finally, at long last excellent fried flounder! It was perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. I was excited to add the deviled crab as it was my childhood favorite, but seldom seen on a menu these days. Terrible let down. It was a tasteless mush with no real crab flavor due an apparent scarcity of crab. The sides (coleslaw and potato salad) were really good. As was the service and ambiance. I am very glad to have checked out Cowfin, just mornful about the deviled crab.

Fantastic food! Best burger in ages. Small establishment; if it's busy, it's a little crowded. However, the food is worth it! Great service ~

We had a party of 11. Came in on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent. Steven was our server & was quick, friendly, & on top of things! Food was great as well. Would def go back if ever in the area again.

My lord. I just ate a burger that had peanut butter and spicy bacon jam on it and I feel as if my taste buds may not ever be this happy again. The Moo fries were decent, but were definitely overpowered by the flavor explosion going on in that burger. Get the burger!

The pulled pork Mac n cheese was yummy and the chicken tenders were solid, too.

If we lived in the area, we'd definitely be back.

Everything was delicious, The food was accurately described. Staff was very nice. The mushroom Swiss burger was perfect. Cowfin sauce is great.

Husband had the burger and fries, I had the bang bang shrimp Mac n cheese skillet, my kids had the chicken tenders, Mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes.

Everything was really good and came out hot. I didn’t get a refill on my drink, however if that’s the only complaint I had I’m not doing too terrible.

I had tons of questions for the hostess on the phone who took my order. The hostess was great and answered my questions. Our (slightly complicated) order was perfect and had silverware and plenty of condiments. Food was delicious!
