Great local library thrift store outlet. Wide section of newer and older books. As of this review, they are doing a Buy One Get One BOGO sale on autobiographies and biographies. We stop in every time we're in town.

This is my family’s favorite bookstore. We’ve found many great vintage children’s books at decent prices. The staff is friendly, and the environment is inclusive.

If you love books or are in search for that special book this is the place. Very helpful volunteers and knowledgeable. We found a book that completed one of our collections, so great.

Currently the best used bookstore (price/value/selection wise) in the LA area (and to be absolutely clear this would include Half Off Books that moved from Whittier to Fullerton and the Last Bookstore (gasp)). Certainly the best used bookstore associated with a library in Socal.

Kudos to the staff. Last time i was there, place was supposed to close at noon. I got there five after. they stayed open well past 12:30 for the love of running a Bookstore. Someone came in after me and asked when do you close today. Someone said we were supposed to close at noon but we will close when we are ready to leave.

Love this place so many titles to explore and great prices. Nice to meet so many people who love books. Employees are so helpful in finding old titles that you might be looking for.

It's a small building filled with books and hard working people who take care of them!

If you are overwhelmed by books, this is the place to take any excess reading material. They pack & move the boxes, and it helps the library. Win/win.

I always find great books here and they often have good deals. It’s even better when they have their parking lot sale!

One of the best places in all of Whittier!! As a teacher, this place has been my go-to spot for my class library. I started as a new teacher 3 years ago, and I have a HUGE class library now thanks to this location for a very reasonable price. I love that they have started selling donated art now too!! Excellent prices!!!!

The Friends of the Whittier Library is a literary treasure house and worth a pilgrimage for any lover of printed media. The amount of books packed into this space will keep you combing the stacks for as long as you’re able to physically hold all of your finds. A favorite place of mine!

This place is awesome, everyone is friendly and ready to recommend a great read if you are on the hunt! Definitely a hidden gem. They have a lot of variety and for cheap. I got kids books, money management books, meditation books and a Japanese dictionary all for 11 bucks! The plus is that you are also supporting a great cause.

Love this little used bookstore. Always something to find. Great prices. Get a bunch of stuff for like 20 bucks. Great volunteers too. Always helpful and full of info. And supports the local library.

Children's books are my favorite.

So much random stuff here, not just books. Super cheap. Absolutely loved the little old lady who cashed me out. She may have a walker and oxygen but she is very good with math

They have a lot children's books and great prices. I particularly went because my friend told me they that a section of children's books in Spanish. I wanted to buy so many of them but I had to choose only about 20 to stick to my budget.

Absolutely love this place. Volunteers are super kind, are always willing to help if you ever need anything. This place is like treasure if you like reading. The place is so well organized and always have different types of books coming in. Always remember to bring cash, as it is cash only.
