Great running store! They have a wonderful selection of shoes which you can try on a treadmill. I recently bought a Nathan hydration vest and they did a great job explaining how to use it. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff and definitely local, so they know info on races and everything

I'd never been to a running store in FoCo before but seemed like people only spoke highly of this place so I wanted to give it a try. I'm not an experienced runner by any means so I came in with a lot of questions but left feeling more than satisfied and confident with the purchase I made. Shoutout to Cade for all his help getting me set up with a brand new set of HOKA's that I am pumped to start using. He was friendly, knowledgable and above all a genuinely good person (not motivated by making a sale). He shared his own personal experiences with different brands and based off of what I'm training for, provided advice and a handful of options for me to try out. This place lived up to and exceeded my expectations so I'm very glad I stopped in last night! Thanks again to Cade for all of his help and wishing him the best as he trains for his first ultra marathon this Summer! Can't recommend this place enough if you're in Fort Collins.

We went here on New Year’s Day and they were so very helpful! I do not know their names but by the far best experience I have had at a shoe store. Helped us find the right shoe for what we were looking for!

I cannot say enough great things about this local running store. I'm completely new to running (literally started in sandals for the heck of it), and Mike (I think that was his name!) went above and beyond any customer service experience I've ever had to get me a great pair of running shoes.

To start, he had me run on a treadmill in store, and took a video of my stride to identify what kind of shoes I might need. (Neutral, supportive, corrective, etc). Then, after discussing this with me and explaining what he saw, he measured my feet and brought out literally 10+ types of shoes for me to try on. As I tried them, he thoroughly explained the relative benefits of each brand and type of shoe, showing no bias or push. You could really tell he knew what he was talking about, and wanted to find me the right type of shoe without pushing towards a more expensive pair or anything like that.

After I had tried on 10+ pairs and discussed what I liked and didn't like about each pair, Mike found me the absolute perfect pair. They weren't exactly cheap ($160), but they were actually cheaper from Altitude than anywhere I can find online or elsewhere! tbh I would have paid $100+ just for the consultation, not to mention the shoes.

I will never go anywhere else for future running shoe purchases. These folks are just gems.

Altitude Running is absolutely the place to go for shoes! I felt supported every step of the way and believe Altitude Running will be my sole shoe store from now on (puns intended). Special thanks to Scott, who is such a gem; he spent a lot of time with me--teaching me about various shoes and their correlated purposes, helping me understand my feet and gate, and providing space and time for me to make the right shoe choice without brushing off my concerns or pushing a sale. My feet and I are very happy and excited to finally run without pain for the first time in a long time. * <-- that's another star. 6/5 stars.

They have very knowledgeable staff that can help you find the right shoe for the right circumstance. They have a treadmill and camera system to record your walk/run and fit shoes to your body. I got a great pair of shoes there and had to return them because of a shoe defect, which they swapped out with no hassle. Great store and I get all my running gear from there.

This running store is fabulous - it’s a gem. Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable about the brands and had an astonishing level of detailed understanding about how each shoe was made and how it related to a runners goals. She took a lot of time to help us chose the right shoe- clearly the people here are passionate about running and the outdoors -
They have a treadmill and an iPad app to further help determine any issues, they take the interest to ask a lot of questions about ones individual running needs to get it all right! Highest Recommendation.

I had a good experience finding a new pair of running shoes. The sales person was very helpful in her recommendations.

Edit: I came back and this place was absolutely the most helpful store ever. The guy was slammed working alone and he still made sure everyone felt like they had his attention.

The best spot to buy running shoes in Fort Collins. They were able to hook me up with some older models, and have always been super helpful. Owner is awesome, always look forward to buying here.

Great customer service. The representative, whom i unfortunately forgot her name, spent easily an hour or so trying on almost every shoe. I settled on the New Balance 880. Great people good prices. Definitely some place to check out. They have more than just shoes. They have clothes and methods to find the right shoe for your foot.

Altitude Running is an amazing business! I have a lot of health issues, and it's always been difficult for me to find a good pair of shoes I can use for exercising. The pair I have consistently bought the past few years hasn't been supporting me well anymore, and I went to many stores and tried on many different pairs of shoes before deciding to go here. I first bought a pair here that didn't work out well outside of the store, and was able to exchange them. When I met with Mike my second time in I couldn't believe how knowledgeable, kind, and thorough he was. He spent over an hour with me, recorded me on the treadmill and explained what he was seeing, answered all my questions and provided explanations on what he knew, went through many pairs of shoes and inserts, and listened to all my concerns and needs. I am so grateful businesses exist like this, and am thankful for their commitment to quality and care. I highly recommend them, and will definitely utilize them in the future.

Stopped in to see if someone could help me tackle some pain I was experiencing as a new runner and Mike was exceptional! He listened to the issues I was having, explained some of the reasons why I might be experiencing pain in those areas, helped me to understand some new concepts, and made really great recommendations for ways I could mitigate those problems. Left with some new shoe inserts that I'm confident will help me become a much better runner. I look forward to coming back when it's time to buy a new pair of shoes!

Have tried shopping for shoes online and at few other stores and second time ended up buying them at this store! Highly recommend the knowledge and service that you receive at Altitude running. Every question you have is answered and you are treated with respect and everyone is always very polite there! My sales representative David completely made my day with the shoes that we finally found for me! Thank you and I will be back again :)

Had a fantastic experience here picking out a new pair of running shoes. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient as they tested to see what type of shoe was right and let me try many different shoes on. They also have a great selection of different types of shoes and brands. Highly recommend this store for all NoCo runners!!

This store is for the Pro's and the Novices.

I've ran so I'm not a Pro, but I'm not exactly a newbie. The staff is amazing. They take the time to listen to your habits, your needs, and fit something to better your performance.

They even take it to the point of making sure your strike pattern is perfect IN THE SHOE. That's service, and that's not all of it. Their prices are typically the best around. They always want to help, and love working to find you the perfect shoe.

There is never the feeling of being sold too, which I despise. However, they will work hard to find exactly what you are looking for, or maybe not aware of which was the case with me.

I was recently surprised by a great customer service experience with Altitude running. I had purchased a specialty shoe there 6 or so months ago and was disappointed to find wear through on the heal causing blisters. I brought the shoe back in to ask the experts how to prevent this, but I also fully expected to buy a new pair of shoes. The shoe specialist agreed that the shoe was defective and I left with a new pair of shoes and my mouth hanging wide open! What a refreshing experience to see a shop stand behind their product even though it was clearly not their fault. You have a customer for life! Greg Evans

Altitude Running is an incredible place to find your perfect pair of shoes. After my wife got her shoes here, I went to get myself a pair and was impressed with the level of expertise and knowledge the staff brings to every customer on an individual basis. Mike helped me find a pair of shoes that fit perfectly, and function for exactly what I need. I highly recommend this store for anyone purchasing shoes, whether you are a walker a runner or just need a good pair of shoes!
