Wonderful atmosphere if you are into laid back, off the beaten track places with DELICIOUS food. Outdoor eating and take out only with jazz music playing on their sound system. They catch fresh clams and oysters daily in the a.m., and you eat them in the p.m. Does it get any better? Also, the staff/owners are very nice! Can't wait to go back again!!!

What a hidden gem! Gorgeous view, great service, lovely ambiance. Sadly they were out of oysters when we went, which had been our goal, but we went late Sunday afternoon. We had some steamers instead, which were great! Really looking forward to going back!

Fresh seafood! Friendly staff ! We bought shrimp and stuffed fluke they were awesome! Great place for oysters as well, didn't personally eat them but one of their regulars raved about them!

Very unassuming location but certainly a hidden gem. Been here a number of times for special events and raw bar. Will certainly make an effort to go through this winter whenever I crave oysters.

This place is an absolute treasure. After a night out in AC we stopped here on the way home. Shared a cold seafood platter. Everything was delicious. It doesn't get fresher than Maxwell Shellfish. Stop and grab a bottle of wine or some beers and hang. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to stop here again.

My wife and I had an excellent time with their Classic Salts Oysters and Butter Poached Oysters.

Great! Clean, friendly staff, and of course delicious fresh fish 🐟. I am so glad I discovered this place as the seafood available at the local grocery store is limited, frozen, and contains chemicals. Other fish markets are also lacking. This now is my Friday go to for great seafood for the grill.

Hidden gem with amazingly fresh seafood. The atmosphere is beautiful and cozy. This family owned business makes you feel “at home.” Couldn’t ask for a better place to visit either by boat or car. We’ll definitely be back!!!

Incredibly friendly customer service, incredible prices & among the best oysters & clams I've ever eaten

I thought I did not like clams and oysters, turn out I love them, they were delicious and the staff is warm and welcoming, highly recommend stopping by here

Got there later in the day, but still a good selection. Bought one dozen of their local oysters and one pound of scallops. Paid for that, but received 15 oysters and over a pound of scallops. Everything was super fresh. Both oysters and scallops were much cleaner (sand) than I'm used to! Flavor on both were great. Oysters were very tasty and plump. Definitely making this a regular stop from now on. The woman who helped me was very pleasant and friendly. I recommend Maxwell Shellfish very highly!

I came back here due to a visit last year. I finally stepped inside and the counter staff...they are polite and courteous! The seafood is fresh and sourced locally. Picked up the house favoured Manhattan clam chowder that was robust and flavuorful. Picked up four fresh crab cakes that were one of the finest o have ever tasted. Recommend this place and if I could give more stars...the screen would explode!

We are always greeted with a smile, and friendly service. Not to mention the seafood is AMAZING! Always fresh, with a nice selection.
Their smoked whitings are SO good, so is the salmon. Great shellfish as well.

Excellent customer service and friendly neighborhood touch. Bridgett offered great ideas for cooking to bring out the flavor of the salmon we purchased.
Will definitely go back through the Summer for additional seafood and maybe even some recipe ideas!

If you are local and want seafood, skip the grocery store and head here instead to support this small business. Right on the water, you can get fresh, locally caught fish and shellfish. You can eat their oysters, clams, and shrimp on the dock outside if you're so inclined. Go early- their stock goes fast. We grilled up their flounder and scallops same night we got them- delicious!

Just shucked some delicious oysters & clams on the half shell. So fresh & reasonably priced!

We attended an oyster and clam shucking class here. What fun! I only went because my husband loves these shellfish, I don't eat them and part of the class was the opportunity to eat what you opened. It was terrific. The staff explained the process of growing and farming oysters and there was plenty of chance to open both clams and oysters. Afterwards we bought crab cakes in the store and they were delicious, lots of crab and not alot of filler. This family run business is a gem.

Very fresh seafood of good variety. Bring beer or beverage of your choice and have fresh oyster on the half shell sitting in the sun. Wonderful!

So yummy! Little pricey, but totally worth it for the ambiance. Made sushi for the second time ever! Smoked salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll and sashami salmon roll. Very fresh fish and nice helpful staff. Thank you ❣
