My first ever paddle boarding experience and the gentleman at the store went above and beyond !! He was so nice, and he put a soft rack and the board on top of my car for me (I’m old). The whole family had a blast! Easy, very affordable, great experience!

Great store with very nice workers. I bought my first surfboard here and they helped me with everything I needed.They also helped put it together and gave pointers. Definitely best surf shop on topsail island.

My wife and I love this place! They have the best smelling candles and some of the softest tees, and it's within walking distance to my favorite taco place. I've bought sandals, skim boards, graphic tees, hats, you name it from them. It's quality! Their surf house is super clean and the staff is really nice! I bought my first legit skim board from them when they were at their old location. Still got it 8 years later and rides great!

I bought the Aventon Adventure from Zach and it was a great experience! They assembled the bike for me at the same coat for me to buy it online. They also filed for the free battery promotion. Now, I want another bike for my wife and won't hesitate to go back to 50 South. Thanks!

Favorite surf shop on the island! We have bought all our boards from 50 South! They threw in a leash when I bought my first board! They have a great selection of clothing to go out in town, beach wear for everyone in the family! They also have a lot of great keep sakes if your visiting, like candles, stickers, jewelry! They carry Billabong and Katin which is my family’s favorite brands! We also rent bikes when we have family come in town to visit! They even have toddler bike accessories! Can’t say enough great things about 50!

Great shop! Super nice owner and staff. They look to have everything you might need and more for a day or week out on the beach. Quality swim wear, clothing, wetsuits, boards, etc.

Owner, Rocky, is a super sweet dude. Very cool store upstairs and you can rent any water toy you can imagine from there. Ebikes too. Cool vibes!

This is the first time that I have rented from 50 South Surf Shop, and I can honestly say that it will now be a permanent part of our yearly beach trip!! It was so convenient, since the bikes were already at our rental when we got there. We loved exploring our little part of the island by bike. We even enjoyed it on a rainy day. Rocky ROCKS!!! My son purchased a bike from there a few years ago. Last month I noticed by back tire looked "funky". Yesterday I got on it to ride n about a half mile from our place...BOOM! I pushed it back. Called the shop n got an estimate. Asked since I'm a "weekender", could I take it in for repairs n pick up later. We took it n had them put on 2 new tires. A few hours later, Rocky called n said it was ready. Told him I had access to truck, but couldn't load it n he said "no problem". Long story short...reasonable pricing, excellent customer service n even did some extra work at no charge. Had another "issue" that he also handled as "warranty" work. I HIGHLY recommend you give them your business!! Way to go, Rocky!

Great time! Me and my fiance went there today while we were waiting to be seated at the restaurant across the street. The two gentleman working were very nice and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the products they were selling and gave us all the information we asked for! If I want to buy a board I'm doing it there. Great place!!

The crew at 50 South Surf Shop is hands down the best. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. Selection of items are great.

50 South was the perfect spot to rent our SUP boards! The staff was kind and helpful, sharing with us the perfect south end spot to spend the day. They take care of you from start to finish. Book early, as they fill up quick. We will definitely rent from them again!

We didn't end up using 50 South but I'm reviewing because of the so kind and excellent service. It was not feasible for us to rent paddle boards from them. So they directed us somewhere that we could rent and put into the water without needing to transport the boards. Now that's good customer service! I would recommend to anyone because they'll give you advice and information that is best for the customer without concern for their own interest.

The whole experience was so easy! We rented a board online the evening we arrived and it was delivered to our rental property promptly the next morning. Communication was superb and the board itself was perfect for our needs (beginners flopping around in some waves for fun) :) Highly recommend this business!

50 South rocks! Nothing on Topsail Island comes close. We have been renting our stand up paddle boards from 50 South for several years now and have been super pleased with their outstanding service, competitive prices, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. We could have chosen other outfitters but after looking around, we have chosen 50 South and they've never let us down.

Very friendly dudes. We rented 2 surf boards and 2 boogie boards. We were able to swap midweek for a different style board to help the new surfer.
They dropped the boards off and picked them up. Super easy to deal with. Easy to recommend.
