This was the first time I ever heard of this place. My wife and I decided to check them out. And boy was I glad we did. If you need or just want old beams, boards, or trim work, then this is the place for you. I picked up antique hinges, door knobs, and many other things to finish some of the projects in my house. I will definitely be going back!! I have a feeling this is going to be our new favorite place.. A must check out!!

We found a near perfect oak craftsman exterior door for 1/5 of the cost of new. Guidance and advice helped make the best decision for us

We have been to so many places like this and I have to say by far this is the most organized architectural antique store we have been in. Very well kept. You can tell this is a labor of love. Our house was built in 1864 and we found a grate that we have been looking for, for years!
Loved, that you actually offered your customers some free things before you donated them!
Some nice antique boxes, jars, crates, crocks, bottles, jars, and tins also.

Awesome place! Friendly owner and staff! My girlfriend is an artist and she found some really cool old drawer inserts for displaying stickers and such. If you're looking to add some vintage uniqueness to anything...stop here.

Picked myself up one super cool cabinet refinished by these people the other day.
We were there because we needed wood and for some projects, this is the go to place to go.
Walked out with several things.
My only gripe is their lack of open hours.

Edit:
took an inspiration picture and used it as a shopping list to get everything needed to make this potting bench.
Great experience.
The wood is cut for you and loaded.
I appreciate help I got with the bungee cord and honda'stupid spot UNDER the car too.

Fun place to find those old things you need for a restoration project. I was able to find some red bricks to fix my front porch. Lots of doors, windows etc....

Awesome Place! Like walking through a museum. The Gentlemen there helped me find some parts for my older style door lock. Very helpful as I was able to get my door lock at my home working again. Will definitely return soon. What a great place.

I first found Deconstruction around 2005 when it was a somewhat disorganized yet magical place filled with fixtures, building materials, mirrors, hardware and more. Today it's still a magical place but extremely well organized and consistently updated with reclaimed building materials and lots of vintage and antique decorative pieces. Decon has been my reliable source for finding both inspiration and materials to decorate a number of businesses over the years: Context, Settle Down Tavern, Oz by Oz and Turn Key. The owner and crew are helpful, knowledgeable and fair. I have yet to leave without purchasing something. A gem of a resource for those who are impulsively creative and prefer repurposing and recycling over buying mass produced materials from big box stores. Pop a squat on the timber beams in the parking lot and watch the sunset after you load up the truck. 15 stars.

I’ve used Deconstruction Inc. over the years for a number of design projects, including two recent Madison Area Builders’ Association Parade of Homes houses. I’ve worked primarily with Mark and Afton, and can count on them to be knowledgeable, quick to respond and easy to work with. Their inventory is always unique and I’ve found their prices really reasonable for things that I can’t find elsewhere. Not only is it great for client work, it’s also just a cool place to visit if you appreciate architectural salvage or antique decor. I find something I need every time I visit! Highly recommend.

My husband and I have found some real treasures at Deconstruction! From vintage ceiling tiles to salvaged windows, to antiques and beautiful reclaimed wood, we always leave with something new (old) for our house!

Deconstruction is one of our favorite places to take visitors when they come from out of town. It’s just a nice place to poke around and reminisce about days of old. My 99 year old grandpa loved going here and seeing tools and antiques he hadn’t seen in decades!

Mark and his staff are all super laid back, friendly and helpful which makes the entire shopping experience a complete joy!

We went to Mark to search for some unique items for my sister’s wedding and we thrilled with Mark and his entire team. They were able to help us make our vision a reality. I was really impressed on how they took the time to ask questions and really understand what we were looking for. I highly recommend for any home project or decor!

I have been coming to deconstruction INC for over 6 years now, from the very beginning, way before it was deconstruction inc. There is a reason I keep coming back for every single project that we do. Mark and team are amazing!!! They help you, they work with you and they really try to understand what you are trying to accomplish and help you accomplish it. The products are simply amazing. Put one of there boards, doors, windows or any other amazing item in your home will simply leave you feeling amazing every time you look at the most amazing pieces of wood that you can find. If you are looking for boards, doors, windows, etc that have character and love then this is your place and these are your people!

My husband and I wanted to add some rustic details to the interior of our new home. The people at Deconstruction Inc were so helpful in making our vision into a reality. We were able to find wood beams, a beautiful pocket door, and interior doors many of which had a story that came with them. That is what we loved most. Thank you Mark for sharing your love of all things old!

This is the most amazing shop ever. We love exploring at Deconstruction as you never know what you may find (always new and changing). We’ve gotten some awesome wood here for a few remodeling projects around our house and wouldn’t hesitate to go back or send friends if they were looking for something similar. If you’re looking for reclaimed wood in the Dane County area - this is the place to go.

Great selection of hardware, plumbing fixtures, lighting, windows and doors. Everything is very organized and the staff are super helpful without hovering. Found a great door for a great price and they carried it out to my car! Definitely will be going back.

Purchased great Douglas Fir floor boards for a renovation in my house. Also picked up a great slab of bowling alley for a bar top. Deconstruction has great options, a staff that is knowledgeable and willing to help you select the right product for your project. I highly recommend this business if you are looking for unique, reclaimed items!
