We brought our cat to Nor-West Animal Clinic from Thunder Bay a couple of weeks ago with some feminine issues. We ended up spaying her. The cost was much cheaper then where we came from. We even received an unexpected discount. The staff were professional and wonderfully inviting. The surgical site looked absolutely perfect. Each stitch was perfection. With how quick routine spays and neuters are, you can really tell this/these surgeons take care and have pride in what they do. Thank you so much for taking us right away. Sadie, is doing great! We've seen this vet for most of our dog health needs over the 20 or so years we've been here with the 5 akita's we've had throughout that time. From the first moments with a puppy to the last moments with our senior babies, the staff and doctors have always been helpful and compassionate.
Recently they were able to squeeze us in quickly and check in on our current old man, Romeo, to evaluate a few minor issues he was having. Everyone there is great about managing everyone's dogs and their needs, and are very kind and friendly (my dog didn't hesitate to ask for belly rubs). The doctor is very knowledgeable, and explains everything clearly and easily understandable, giving you all the information and options and outcomes to help you do what's best for your baby.
When it comes to the care of my dogs, my parents and I keep coming here for the great care and compassion for us and our dogs, no matter how big or small the matter is we're facing.

Very knowledgeable and kind staff. Everything from booking my appointment, answering my questions to our visit was wonderful. I appreciate the helpful information about pet food and vaccinations. The social distancing practices were also well organized and went very smoothly. Hopefully, we’ll be able to shop inside soon!

I have been receiving care for years from Nor-West Animal Clinic. All 3 of my beagles have been patients over the years, and every one has received EXCEPTIONAL loving care. Every member of the team treats you like family and goes above and beyond for your pets. Fort Frances and surrounding area is so lucky to have such an amazing team to care for our furry loved ones!

I have moved out of the province and twice when I was visiting I had to unexpectedly bring my beagle to the vet. The team went above and beyond to fit us in!

Very kind and compassionate staff. The whole office seems to know my dog by name and they all seem to be genuinely interested in my dogs progress. As I don't live in town I really appreciate their mobile clinics and how accommodating they are about getting your supplies to you through arranging others to bring things back to your town.

Amazing care from a kind and compassionate staff. Dr. Dan has such concern for his patients and and is backed up a likeminded staff. They all make you feel so confident that our furry children are in wonderful hands. Thanks to one and all for caring so very much for our pets.

While in vacation, our dog woke up with what looked like a nasty eye infection. We were over 6 hours away from our regular vet and didn't know what to do. We called Nor-West and despite having a packed schedule, they managed to work us in within an hour of calling. They give our dog a thorough exam and a successful treatment plan. They also took the time to talk about a good first aid kit to have on hand and to make sure we knew about fungal spores that were common in that area that could affect our dog months after we got home. The visit was cost effective and we liked that they did not order a slew of unnecessary tests. We really appreciated their high level of service and highly recommend them based on our experience!

First time using their services during COVID and couldn't be happier with the process. Also they treated my Lily very well and gave her plenty of compliments. Thank you for treating my puppy

The staff here are fantastic. They seem to understand my pet is my family. Dr. Dan saved my cat's life, charged me an arm and a leg, and I'd do it all over again, because Dr. Dan was and still is really good at what he does.

In mid October 2020, when ALL the animal clinics in Thunderbay failed me ... Nor-West although very busy, not only took my appointment but went above and beyond to help me sort out my dog Luigi's International Health Certificate so we could travel back to Panama where we reside. It is a complicated and tedious procedure to get Luigi back into Panama. They were very understanding of the fact that I had to drive 3 hours to get to my appointment so made the extra effort to make sure the paperwork was all filled in correctly. Karen at the clinic was stellar! I am very grateful and they totally made my 6-hour drive worth it!

The vets and staff here are absolutely amazing! They genuinely love animals and really care for our dogs every time we've had to bring them in, whether it was an emergency or just for regular shots.

Excellent care.

Be aware though, that they are inundated with clients so unless it is a true emergency plan on 6 weeks to get in and 6 months for planned surgery (spay/neutering).

So thankful to the staff at the clinic for helping my Gibbs get back to his goofy attitude. They fit us in on the same day I called and within hours of bringing him home he was hopping all over the place again.

This animal clinic is truly amazing. I brought my Amazon Parrot to thedublwho had dislocated his wing! 😔

We were in visiting from out of town. We tried several vets in Thunder Bay and none would take a look at our dog who was cut and had an infection in her leg. One call to Nor-West and we had her in and out and fixed up in no time! Wonderful vets and would recommend them to anyone!

Excellent place to bring animals,. Great ppl to deal with,. Very in-depth explaining surgery's or stuff being done to animals. They don't do anything without ur permission which I like. I take my 2dogs and cat here😀

Our dog was well looked after and they provided us with a very imfomative report on his condition. Very pleased with the service.
