Our Wedding at the Private Estate couldn’t have more perfect. The grounds were immaculate, the weather and view exquisite & everything ran seamlessly with all of the vendors. Obviously, Jack the grounds caretaker was a big part of that. He wears many hats and really cares about coordinating the best possible day for any couple getting married. He knows many of the vendors and wedding planners and is definitely a massive bonus when committing to the venue. Ripley, the owner, is very easy to work with and very responsive with any questions we had. The carriage house was perfect for the bridal party to get ready in. I am so happy we booked A private estate and highly recommend it for future couples!

This is a gorgeous property for a wedding--the barn is amazing, the setting by the river just beautiful. Unfortunately the day of our daughter's wedding was in a torrential rainstorm, so we had some logistical headaches. But Ripley, the owner and Jack the caretaker were outstanding. They helped supervise what needed to be done to help our guests arrive in driving rain, Jack put mats out on the muddy grass to get people into our tent, and thanks to them, everything worked out beautifully. Our guests were blown away by the beautiful barn and tented dance floor and so were we. We also rented the carriage house on the grounds to stay in over the weekend and to do the wedding prep and that was perfect too--clean and just lovely. And a great fully stocked kitchen too. Highly recommended!

With an original 2020 wedding date, we had an unexpected layer of stress during the planning stages — but all of that was dissipated and reduced by the Private Estate dynamic duo that is Ripley and Jack. We postponed our wedding twice (from 2020 to 2022) and they were both extremely accommodating during the process. From being flexible to providing valuable advice (on everything from wedding day flow to tent placement), Ripley and Jack are THE reason to choose A Private Estate.

Of course, it's one of the most beautiful venues in the Hudson Valley with stunning grounds and facilities but it's the additional planning support, vendor relationships and day-of management that make this the premier wedding venue. They went above and beyond to make sure that we, our family (who also stayed in the Carriage House on the property) and our guests had an amazing time. Another big advantage to A Private Estate is access to the neighboring property, Holcroft House, a beautiful historic home where some family stayed and where we took our first-look photos with gorgeous views.

And Jack!!! A true jack of all trades felt like our right-hand man the entire weekend, even helping assemble and build some of the DIY elements and decor that we made. It was a huge help and another advantage to choosing A Private Estate. And when it comes to the property (that truly shows off the beauty of the Hudson), it's like having 10 venues in one, full of multiple mini locations where you can use for multiple events from the welcome area, ceremony site, cocktail hour, reception and more.

We originally opted for the barn for the reception but ended up changing to the ceremony tent site due to the impeccable views. After saying "I do" at the ceremony site, we had cocktail hour by the pond and to the left of the house so we would have unobstructed views of the house in our wedding photos. Honestly, I could go on and on about how phenomenal the A Private Estate venue and team are.

I don't think words can adequately describe how magical of a day our wedding was! The whole weekend felt like an absolute dream. Ripley and Jack go above and beyond to make sure every couple feels special and the day goes perfectly. From the ceremony to the reception everything went seamlessly and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location. The grounds in June are incredible and there is something about being nestled in the mountains on the river that makes everything feel a bit more magical! A bald eagle even made a guest appearance during our ceremony!! Our guests raved about how beautiful everything was and our stay in the carriage house was the cherry on top!

I had the opportunity to MC a wedding as part of MVP DJs and Entertainment. From the moment we arrived for set up, Ripley, Jack, and their team were incredibly helpful, making sure we found where we needed to be and had everything necessary for smooth sailing for the ceremony , cocktail hour and reception across the beautiful, sprawling property. The Hudson River and Catskills made for a breathtaking backdrop, and the meticulously restored barn is an ideal setting for a charming, rustic wedding. We traveled 3 hours each way from downstate to A Private Estate, and we can't wait for our next opportunity to come back.

Our wedding at A Private Estate was truly a dream! The natural beauty of the surrounding nature and the regal estate created such a timeless and organic setting for our wedding at the riverside tent-site. We received so many compliments on the location, the spectacular view of the Hudson, the privacy, and the entire outdoor experience. Ripley and Jack also provided truly incredible and accommodating service from start to finish, and Jack worked tirelessly to ensure us and our guests had a truly exceptional time. If we could get married again at A Private Estate, we would! We highly recommend A Private Estate to anyone looking for a venue in the Northeast!

My husband and I chose A Private Estate after falling in love with the landscape and view!! After visiting multiple other venues along the Hudson river, we found that A Private Estate felt most "untouched" and would truly allow our guests to experience the quiet and natural beauty of the Hudson Valley. We liked that we could use the tent site and customize our wedding to our taste with the beautiful landscape as our backdrop. Ripley and her team are amazing! They've hosted many weddings and have their best practices, which are helpful since for most of us, it's our first time planning a wedding :). We happened to have a high chance of rain on our wedding day and ultimately had to go with our plan B for the ceremony, but never once felt stressed about it. Special shoutout to Jack (Ripley's right-hand man)! He worked behind the scenes the wedding weekend to ensure that everything went smoothly and was so easy to work with. We would highly recommend going with APE for your special day :).

I photographed a wedding here recently and was blown away by how gorgeous the property was! The owners were so sweet! The property is so serene, relaxing, scenic and has everything you could possibly look for in a wedding venue! Look no further!

Despite seeing this location for the first time in the depths of winter with thick snow on the ground it didn't detract from the spectacular view which is stunning. From the moment we met Ripley and her Estate Manager Jack I knew we were in good hands. Alix and Ben wanted an elegant rustic style wedding and that's certainly what they got. We had several meetings on site (including accommodating us on a Sunday as I live in the south) and nothing was too much trouble. Ripley gave us a list of recommended vendors, all excellent. Don't be deterred by the fact there are several moving parts getting guests from the ceremony and cocktail location on the river and up to the barn for dinner. Jack's organization and coordination on the day of the wedding was first class and everything went like clock work. As the mother of the bride I couldn't have wished for a better day and am thrilled that my daughter had the wedding she dreamed of. I highly recommend this venue.

What a fantastic place for an event! Attending a wedding here recently and the grounds and venue were amazing. Cocktail hour overlooking the Hudson river and mountains while the sunset, and a rustic barn for the reception. Only thing I didn't care for was that there was an upstairs of the barn, which may isolate some people, but for smaller size weddings is perfect.

Ripley at A Private Estate was wonderful to work with. Once Covid hit and unexpectedly put a damper on some of our wedding plans, Ripley and the rest of the staff really was great in helping us make everything work and helping us with local vendors that were willing to work with us given the change in circumstances. We are also so glad that the venue was out doors, otherwise we really would not have been able to have a wedding at all with the current rules. We were just so happy with the entire experience and it made for a simply perfect and elegant day. The venue is beautiful and my wife and I can't recommend it enough.

This is a fabulous place for any special occasion. I have been a guest for several celebratory events and have been thrilled with the stunning views, the tasteful and comfortable way that things were set up, and the sense of utter privacy. The main lawn area, with its dramatic overlook of the Hudson and the mountains beyond, is a memorable setting. The barn complex has a fine floor for serious dancing, with plenty of space for live music. It has all the conveniences of home, with very nice bathrooms. This made it a pleasure for the older members of our party. The youngest guests were enchanted with the activities, set up for them on the lawn. We were also lucky enough to be able to stay onsite in one of the lodging options on the property. I don't know how soon a wedding will be in my future, but this would be a dream venue (assuming my daughter agrees).

My niece recently had her wedding here and it was just beautiful. It was the most picturesque setting I've ever seen for a wedding ceremony - on the banks of the river with the Catskills behind. The indoor space is very versatile and can accommodate a lot of different types and sizes of events. The serving staff was really helpful and professional. If you're looking for a wedding venue in the Hudson Valley, be sure to check this place out!

I recently had the pleasure of shooting at this beautiful property and to say I'm impressed is an understatement. From the barn to the carriage house to the ceremony location on the front lawn, this is an absolute dream venue (and as a wedding photographer, it's truly perfect for photos. The photo spots for portraits and ceremony and even getting ready is incredible!) It's not easy to find a venue that combines gorgeous mountain views overlooking the river, sprawling property, and stunning architecture all in one place! If I could go back in time and pick my wedding venue, this would hands down be it :)
