This is one of the last Chinese restaurants/places in Pittsburgh old Chinatown district. There are other Chinese restaurants and Markets in Pittsburgh, but this restaurant has that traditional western Chinese cuisine vibe to it.

I ordered moo Shu pork, and my wife ordered Lamb with vegetables. The portions are gigantic. For the price, and quality, it is well worth it. The duck sauce and mustard sauce seems to be homemade, it has a much better texture and flavor than any other Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. Their shrimp egg roll is delicious and well worth the 3.00+. Definitely put their duck sauce in the egg roll for extra flavor.

I wish Pittsburgh still had a Chinatown, like how Washington DC has a decent China town, and NY has a great Chinese district. But, for a small city they have some gems. This is one of them.

The service is incredible. The staff is so swift, attentive, and friendly. The food was delicious in so many ways. The portion sizes are very generous and the flavors were stunning. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in town.

This was a very good experience.
My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary on the Monday the 27th.
The food is very plentiful, the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful, and the service was great. I had never eaten in a place like that before, and I felt pretty comfortable and content.
The servings were large for the price and the dishes came with rice, tea, and water automatically, so it's a good deal overall.
Everybody was friendly, the place was clean and they were right on it to clean the tables as guests left. They also give a bill for each member of the party so you can pay separately which I think is really awesome. I had a good time, and would recommend Chinatown Inn to anybody looking for a good spot for Chinese food in downtown Pittsburgh.

Outstanding food outstanding service!!!!

Though the restaurant is average in size they more than make it up with outstanding (yes using that word again) authentic Chinese cuisine!!!!!

They also have traditional menu items that will blow you away..... don't believe me......try their super sized egg rolls!!!!!!

When busy the restaurant is a beehive of activity but the staff handles it all with the grace elegance and precision of Ballroom Dancing!

By virtue of Chinatown Inn's constantly being crowded obviously they are doing something right and I completely concur!

Went for a birthday gathering and it was pretty good. It was very chaotic, but we were all on separate checks and the staff handled it very well.
The food was pretty good, portions were quite large. The egg rolls were as big as a jar candle. More importantly they were delicious. Home made duck sauce and hot mustard were truly a tasty treat. We will be going back for sure. Thank you Chinatown Inn.

Absolutely love this restaurant and always make sure to stop by when I am in Pittsburgh. The food is always great and the portions are very generous. This landmark restaurant is a multigenerational family business that has long stood the changes in this city. The staff is always very friendly and gives the best recommendations. The atmosphere is very authentic and relaxed. Highly recommended!

Chinatown in 1 Building! But it still holds up after all these years, and their egg rolls are Huge and delicious. I'm glad they've survived (RIP House of Chang ✌🏽) and are still dishing out solid fare. They don't list it anywhere on their website or menu, but they do have a decent bar with great cocktails and mocktails too.

Fantastic Asian cuisine conveniently located in downtown Pittsburgh. Full menu of Cantonese, Szechuan and Hunan cuisine. Large portions for a great price. Clean and stylish environment. Friendly and attentive service. Free parking on weekends and after 6 pm weekdays. HIGHLY recommend!!

As tradition, 70 souls have made the yearly pilgrimage on the wise doctor’s orders. As tradition, the food and service are impeccable. A symphony of shouted orders brings the venue to life as dancers swoop in and amongst the assembled crowd.

I had the sesame chicken. As tradition, it was a very good value.

Excellent food and service! Ambiance is old school and makes you feel like you’re in China! Diner style booth seating and 4 seat tables. The decor and lighting is really well done. The food is tasty and quick. Good prices for the experience you get out of it.

The Chinatown Inn is a family owned restaurant that is owned and managed by the Yee family. It's history spans over 30 years. It is a delightful, Pittsburgh staple and one of the last places that remains that was once a part of, Pittsburgh's "Chinatown" the menu consists of Hunan, Cantonese, Thai and Szechuan recipes. You can get the level of spice tailored to fit your preference. I personally like a lot of spice in my meal and they absolutely delivered! They have the best, Hot and Sour Soup that I have ever had. Everything that I ordered was delicious😋. The service was outstanding and the restaurant's interior was immaculate. Their menu selections were reasonably priced and they had something on their menu for everyone to enjoy! The Chinatown Inn is a great place to take your family to eat. Parking is limited but there are many places to park nearby.

Enjoy tasty food, quick service, and a very historical location marking a remaining part of Pittsburgh's Chinatown. The Special Wonton for two is a broth filled with noodles and wontons, chicken, and shrimp to start off a meal wonderfully!

Recommended to us by Ming-Na Wing at Steel City Comic Con. We had the triple garlic delight and crab raccoon for appetizer. Sooo fresh and delicious!

I always love going here, sometimes I literally just get egg rolls to go. They are the biggest and most delicious egg rolls ever. I like their fish tank also.

For Pittsburgh is pretty good! I always order online but finally got to go to the actual restaurant. Atmosphere is a bit dead. Fairly Americanized to the point where they just assume you do not want chop sticks.

However nearly everything i have had is good and reasonably priced!

I will definitely go back!

I've moved a lot...and I've never found Pittsburgh to be good at Chinese/Japanese food in general. However, this is incredible. Every bit of my meal was fantastic. The tea, the entree (crispy spicy chicken and fried rice), and the crab ragoons. Since moving back up north from Phoenix, I've been disappointed a lot - but this restaurant is a GEM in Pittsburgh. I'm absolutely coming back, and I'm so grateful that the two bars nearby weren't serving food so I was pushed to come here. This surely beat beer and burgers!
Thank you so much for your delicious food!
