Recently visited this gem. We bought a sourdough loaf of bread, olive rosemary loaf and pepperoni sourdough. We also got a chocolate dipped macaroon. We've had a chance to try each and they were all delicious and beautiful!! Look like they were straight off of Pinterest. Will definitely return and do recommend!!

A coworker shared the bakery with me and mentioned the homemade sheetzas on Sundays only. My husband and I have been going weekly to try the different flavors. One weekend he went when they opened to snag the sheetza but they don’t hit the counter until 11. 😂 The baked goods are delicious and we always end up getting some extra. If you’re in the area or driving thru, definitely make a pitstop. The staff are extremely friendly and you won’t be disappointed!

Bolivar Bread Bakery in Harpers Ferry, WV, has once again proven that their commitment to customer satisfaction goes above and beyond. In a recent and unexpected turn of events, the bakery closed early because of the weather, but what ensued was an experience that showcased their dedication to exceptional service.
On a day when I had been eagerly anticipating a visit to Bolivar Bread Bakery, I called to reserve my bakery goods to pick up later that day. I arrived only to find that they had closed their doors earlier than usual because of the snow. I was sad since I was anticipating the fresh baked goods. To my surprise a note was left on the door. My disappointment briefly settled in, but that feeling was quickly replaced by surprise and gratitude. This unexpected act of kindness has not only reinforced my appreciation for the bakery's exceptional treats but has left me with a lasting impression of their unmatched dedication to customer service. Bolivar Bread Bakery continues to stand out as a beacon of warmth and excellence in the heart of Harpers Ferry.
Let's talk about the star of the show; The classic Wild and Wonder Sourdough bread! One of their best sellers! Crafted with dedication and a meticulous process that spans several days, the sourdough at Bolivar Bread Bakery is nothing short of extraordinary. The crust is perfectly crunchy, while the inside boasts a texture that is both chewy and airy. The flavor profile is rich and tangy, a testament to the time-honored artistry that goes into its creation.
Another one of my Fan Favorite items are the apple scones! These scones are nothing short of a revelation. Each bite is a perfect balance of buttery goodness, tender apple chunks, and a hint of spice, leaving you craving more.
Thank you, Bolivar Bread Bakery, for going above and beyond, proving that your commitment to your customers!

Beautiful and delicious bakery in Harper’s Ferry! To say their food is tasty would be a massive understatement. It was incredible! The item I was most blown away with was the Pretzel Pepperoni Roll. They also had an assortment of beverages, local milk and cheeses as well as souvenirs! 10/10 highly recommend this little and delicious bakery!

Who could rate this below a five star?! Homemade sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls slathered in cream cheese frosting, local popcorn, sourdough chocolate chip cookies and gluten free almond cookies.
Friendly, smiling staff too! A must visit in Harper's Ferry.
Parking lot in the back of the store.

Absolutely adore this bakery and it's MANY delightful baked goods! Legit the best pepperoni rolls we've ever had...and we've sampled an inordinate amount being WV residents for the past 15 years! The sourdough bread is like none other. ❤ We live in Falling Waters and drive to Harpers Ferry for this bread! The brown butter cookies could make me cry they're so good. Amazing prices for the quality too! You will not be disappointed.

This is a fantastic bakery. I was super impressed by their vegan coconut cake and vegan Samosa pretzel rolls, in addition to their chewy inside and crusty outside perfectly baked and delicious rosemary and kalamata olive sourdough, and last but not least their amazing Bavarian style pretzels. Holy smokes. Everything is perfectly baked and seasoned/salted. Amazing flavors. Something magical is going on behind those hand cut sandstone walls. Another spot that is among the many jewels located in Harpers Ferry. We will definitely go out of our way for bread, pretzels, and baked goods any time we are in a 45 minute radius.

What an amazing bakery! The smells upon entering were divine. We visited with the owner/baker while there and she was delightful. We left with ginger scones and sourdough bread. The bread was a perfect lunch to carry along on our AT hike. If you are visiting I highly recommend this local gem. If you live near here, you have just found your favorite new bakery!

Wonderful bakery with fun, friendly staff. This place is full of surprises. Come back throughout the day as fresh items are constantly being pulled from the ovens. The pretzel curry roll was seriously delicious. They tossed a couple free sugar cookies at us and - ok wow, maybe the best sugar cookies I ever ate. The large chocolate chip cookies are not to be missed. Raisin sourdough bread? Yeah grab that, too before they are gone. Sorry, we got the last bag of biscuits. Good drip coffee. Lots of little extras to buy if you are just popping into town for the weekend and need basic bread and a cheese pack and butter and coffee and sweets.

My wife and I tried this place on recommendation from our AirBNB host. We tried their peach scones, amaretti cookies, lavender shortbread cookies, and everything bagel sourdough bread. We agreed that all of them were the best scone, cookies, and sourdough bread we’ve ever had. We bought extra scones and cookies to take home. The staff were very friendly and welcoming as well. We’d highly recommend giving this place a try.

Very distinct bakery. Our favorite is sourdough bread. We tried quite a few things. Everything tastes so delicious. We go here after our hike in the weekends. Owners and helpers are very nice people. Very patient in answering questions and accommodating. Can’t sit and eat inside. There are only couple of tables outside. So, be prepared to eat at your cars if you go as a big group. There is small parking lot behind the building.

If this bakery doesn’t end up on the food network I will be absolutely shocked and disappointed. I’ve been to over 40 states (traveled from WA State); and have stopped at hundreds of amazing bakeries—but this ladies and gentlemen, IS. THE. BEST! I got the GF Amaretti cookie and OH MY GOSH…absolutely died and went to heaven!!!! I literally stopped in my tracks while eating there and ended up buying FOUR MORE. Y’all, the cookie was RIDICULOUS. I have never in my life tasted something so darn delicious. I ate it while sipping on my cold brew which was perfect with their caramel syrup and oat milk! Everything else at the bakery looked absolutely mouth watering by the smell of it. I almost risked it all (I have celiac) to take a sample of the GLUTEN DELIGHTS but the cookie sufficed. Will, who I took a selfie with made the cookie as his senior project at culinary school. Will was fantastic, and deserves all the praise for his hard work. This bakery is beyond cute, had other fantastic buys including veteran made jams and honey (which I also bought). I am around WV for the next couple months, and am already planning a trip back before driving back to the west coast. I CANNOT WAIT to be back and see if Will has more fun gluten free creations!

Simple local bakery that has an inviting feel to it. Cinnamon rolls were great, the cream cheese icing was awesome and they didn’t skimp out on it! Prices were also very reasonable.

As a Frenchman, I must say that the bread in this bakery is EXCELLENT, far better than the one you can find in some supposedly French bakery in DC. We tasted the olive and rosemary bread and the baguette "en épis" and both were savory, fresh and crunchy the way it should be. We did not get a chance to se e the interior as we arrived short before closure but could purchase the breads left for self-service on the outside.
Merci Bolivar Bread Bakery!
