This is such a cute & fun coffee shop in Carrboro! Lots of gelato and fun, innovative beverages! There's lots of outdoor seating... They also have a small selection of alcoholic beverages. Overall, it's a beautiful place to just sit and relax.

Very good place, prices aren’t bad for this kind of food. Really good drink options and different sandwiches and stuff. Will be coming back, lovely outdoor seating as well.

Ordered a red velvet latte and almond latte. Coffee and ambience were great, went here twice and would love to go again .

La Vita Dolce has an amazing atmosphere with such friendly workers. When i went it wasn’t too busy our gelato came out quickly. There was so many options for gelato. Samples are free. Everything we ordered was amazing! They have a wide variety of food to choose from as well. I will definitely come again.

Easily the best coffee shop in Chapel Hill & Carrboro. The coffee is excellent (I recommend the Mexican Mocha) and the staff are very friendly. The seasonal drinks are always well worth trying too!

Another cafe in what I'm learning in NC to be intentionally developed to give the old town square feeling even though it's a newer area.

I haven't been in for maybe a year since they're not in my usual 'orbit of daily life', which may be good so I don't have gelato on the daily.

I went a little off my usual reservation of beverage choice and ordered a Cuban latte. Never had one before, anywhere. The condensed milk definitely gives it a little something, sweet, but not overly so, like with a mocha.

I had one of the breakfast sandwiches on my first visit and recall it being good, but since coffee is technically a beverage, this review is only for the service and atmosphere.

The barista I had contact from was nice, friendly, etc, even on a rainy, dreary Thursday.

Plenty of seating inside and out.

3/16/23: Returned to the scene of the crime.

A wonderful little shop that offers gelato, coffee, milkshakes, etc. Went there with my 4 year old son on a blistering Saturday evening. I ordered their espresso gelato milkshake while my son got the chocolate gelato. Both items were delicious and helped us stave off the heat and humidity.

Excellent coffee, so good I ordered it twice! Surprisingly delicious chocolate cookies (somewhere between a brownie and a cookie) that went perfectly with their coffee. The two ladies that were there (Saturday afternoon) were very sweet, friendly, and offered suggestions and made sure you ordered what you really wanted. They were awesome. Space is a little cramped when it's raining, since the extra seating is outside, but apart from that the place is exactly what I was looking for. It was clean, coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was friendly comfortable and very inviting.
I can't wait to go back.

Update review 2021: still a favorite for an early morning coffee stop or midday iced tea /gelato fix. All through crazy 2020 they managed to stay open & adapt to the situation. It’s still a great place to meet up with friends for a chat. Their breakfast sandwiches and espresso drinks are delicious.

Original 2019: It’s our neighborhood favorite for an amazing Chai or gelato. Great place to sit by yourself or meet up with friends wine down Wednesday’s. Staff is on the ball and attentive. Cozy spot on a sunny or rainy day.

Phenomenal gelato. The strawberry and mint chip are excellent, but the chocolate raspberry is out of this world. And reasonably priced to boot. Definitely worth a stop.

Both the Gelato and the in house specialty drinks are always amazing. Staff is always welcoming, hospitable, and orders are moved quickly. While the inside seating is minimal, the atmosphere is comfortable, the outdoor seating is a perfect option! We have always had a great experience!

Love to pop into La Vita Dolce for a small cup of chocolate gelato after having a burger at Al’s in the same shopping center. Staff are friendly and courteous.

everybody’s was extremely respectful towards the community especially children and i loved the atmosphere
