My daughter started her experience with horses here with the summer camp last year when she was 7/8. She loved it so much she begged for lessons which we have now been doing for a year and now she begs for summer camp here again this summer. She loves the horses and feels very comfortable in the environment. She (and I) can tell how caring and compassionate everyone at Blue Skies is about the horses and teaching and Ms. Deborah is very patient and caring with the students. The classes are small and the property is beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend!!

My 11-year old daughter started riding at Blue Skies after attending summer camp last year and loving it. The horses are clearly well cared for, calm and content, and Deborah and her young adult helpers are patient (even with riding newbies) and knowledgeable. One thing I've also noticed is that Deborah is extremely tuned in to how the horses are feeling and behaving, and she is always communicating this information to the kids so they can learn how to interpret a horse's mood, too. My daughter is looking forward to continuing her private riding lessons in the Spring and has said that she ONLY wants to go to Blue Skies for summer camps this year. That's fine with me!

Blue Skies is an amazing stable. The instructors are caring and compassionate to horse and rider alike. They create a warm and welcoming, non-competitive atmosphere.
The horses are calm, sweet, and quiet. Since they are treated with such love and respect, they will often come up and greet the students from their paddock gate, ready for lessons to begin!
What makes Blue Skies truly special is the emphasis that the instructors place on Natural Horsemanship. This allows the student to really connect with the horses and develop deep and meaningful relationships with them.
I personally wouldn’t trade my experience at Blue Skies for the world. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime, and I'm honestly not sure how I would have made it through High School without the love and support of my barn family. I can’t recommend Blue Skies highly enough.

My three daughters started riding at Blue Skies when they were 7 years old. I can't imagine a better place to learn the value of horsemanship. Ms. Deborah is a fabulous teacher and her staff (horses included!) are outstanding. My youngest would live at Blue Skies if she could!!

My daughter was in 5th grade when she started taking lessons at Blue Skies of Mapleview. She is now a senior in high school, and I can not possibly say what Blue Skies has meant to her and to our family. Deborah is the nicest, kindest, most generous teacher. My daughter has gained more than superb riding skills. She has been become a confident leader. She has learned how to communicate clearly and she is so brave! After spending so much quality time with large horses, she knows she can handle anything! I will never, ever be able to thank Deborah for teaching my daughter to ride, to be fearless, to be loving, and to be herself. If your child is interested in horses, Blue Skies is the only place you should send them. Your child will be more than a student. They will be part of a family of riders dedicated to learning to ride and caring for their precious horses. Thank you Ms. Deborah for helping to make my daughter the amazing woman she is today!

My daughter has been attending riding lessons at this barn for three years. The instructors and horses are welcoming and patient. The safety of the riders and the horses is always high priority. It has been a great confidence builder for my daughter.

I have participated in the Women's Intuitive lessons. I loved the encouraging and engaging small group experience. You set your own pace. This is not a high pressure barn, but it is a high encouragement barn.

Choose Blue Skies of Mapleview if you want the best horseback riding experiences for yourself and your children. Owner Deborah Pearson-Moyers has created programs that develop skill, confidence, and strength -- all in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. She stresses safety always, and assembles a well-trained staff for summer camp each year. The horses themselves are sweet and reliable. Altogether excellent!

Blue Skies is the first barn I have ever ridden at and have ridden at for 8 years The atmosphere is friendly, non-competitive, and welcoming. I would highly recommend it for anyone who has never been on a horse or to someone who wants a low-key, relaxed, horse experience. The lessons and camp have taught me so much and Ms. Deborah is a very patient and understanding teacher. The horses are all so sweet and well-taken care of. Blue Skies is a great barn!

My daughter has been riding at Blue Skies for almost five years, in both summer camp and regular weekly lessons, and I have nothing but good things to say about Deborah Pearson-Moyers and her equine programs. I am a rider myself and am impressed with the insightful way that Ms. Pearson-Moyers teaches her students about horses. As a parent, I am grateful for the emphasis that she and her instructors place on safety. I also appreciate that she stresses the importance of fostering relationships of respect with both humans and horses - it is one that I see her model in all of her interactions with the kids. The lesson horses are quiet and great around kids, and the lessons include the fundamentals of caring for horses, including grooming and tacking up. We tried several different stables for my daughter and none of them offered the combination of excellent instruction and warm, caring environment that we have found at Blue Skies.

Blue Skies of Mapleview provides the most enriching experience for students with a passion for horses who are learning to ride. Students and horses alike are treated with deep care and respect, bringing out the best in all. My son loves taking lessons there and learning how to care for horses - the right way! The values taught in class are life values that serve him well on and off the horse. I can not recommend Blue Skies of Mapleview more highly.

I started lessons here almost 2 years ago after leaving a previous barn. I absolutely love the instructors and the horses. The semester lessons are so much fun and I also love that I have gotten the chance to ride on my own during the winter with their leasing program. The leasing has allowed me to focus on what I want to get better or more comfortable with at my own pace. The lessons are also wonderful as they are challenge by choice and we get to focus on activities in which the group is interested.

I love Blue Skies of Maple View and have had the pleasure of riding at this barn for the last two years. Deborah, the owner, cares deeply for each of the horses and you can tell in her understanding of them and the way she approaches learning to ride. This is the place to go if you’d like to build a strong foundation and learn to be present with a horse. A magical thing indeed.

My daughter started her experience here with the summer camp. She really enjoyed it and could tell how caring and compassionate they are about the horses (and all the fun things to do!).
We then took up regular lessons. The property is beautiful. What a welcoming and relaxing place to spend an hour each week (for my daughter and me!). I highly recommend.

Blue Skies changed my life! I've been taking Women's Intuitive Riding, Deborah's trademark riding program, for going on five years. This program takes women who have had a life long dream of riding horses and re-introduces them to all things horse. WIR covers horse behavior, herd behavior, horse communication and body language, grooming, ground work, tacking up and riding, both in the ring and trail riding. Thank you Deborah Pearson Moyers and the Blue Skies herd.

Beautiful location and kind staff. My daughter has attended both the summer camp and the after school program. Not only is she learning to ride, she is also learning to care for, and respect, the horses. They have a great program and we hope to keep participating.

This place is amazing! I started my daughter here as a suggestion from an Occupational Therapist. Truly life changing experience for my daughter. The instructors are kind, caring, & compassionate. The connection with the environment and the horse sense the riders learn are remarkable. Couldn’t imagine a better place to have my daughter.

My daughter has gone to summer camp there and taken lessons. I've taken a private lesson as well. The staff there are wonderful, caring, and patient. They start with the very basics and teach kids about horses and how to interact with them. Highly recommend!

Blue Skies of Mapleview is a great place to take horseback riding lessons - fantastic instruction in natural horsemanship for kids AND adult women...the sorbet down the road at Maple View Dairy is excellent, too.
