So weeks later and my mouth still moistens at the thought, (yep I used that word). Unfortunately, only available for holiday... look out next year!

Since I first went there, many years ago, I've been a big fan. They make great deli sandwiches, hoagies and soups. Their pastry game is top notch, as well. It's a nice quaint place for an afternoon meal.
They could stay open a little bit later, but that's a straight selfish wish in my part. I want their sandwiches at all times of the day. Lol. You would too.

Didn't have the chance to travel to their shop, but had stumbled across them at Bacon Fest in a Easton, PA. There were so many choices that looked outstanding, but we decided to try the classic cannolis... FANTASTIC!

My picky partner agreed that they were outstanding, enough so that he'd consider taking a trip there from our neck of the woods (about 2 hours south).

Great food and sweets, the employees are friendly, helpful knowledgeable of their products. Always stop if going through Scranton PA

Great food, feels like you are in the big city. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Great prices, they have a lot of authentic Italian food and pastries that you can't find anywhere else. Place is spotless clean. Met the owners Eugene and Chrissy treated me like family. Will definitely be back again!👍

I’ve been driving past Carmella’s all my life and honestly never noticed it only until recently. I’m very glad I stopped! Delicious sandwiches and home made goodies. I’ll be back for sure! Very reasonable on pricing also.

EVERYTHING is delicious here. My absolute favorite is the marinated eggplant sandwich with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. I’ve also purchased jars of their sauce on many occasions. It’s so flavorful. Their rolls are always crunchy on the outside, light and delicious on the inside and it reminds me of being at my Nonna’s house. Their pastries are SPECTACULAR as well. Always fresh and there is a HUGE variety. The owners are so sweet and lovely. Just go. You won’t be disappointed.

We just moved here recently and this is the first true Italian deli/bakery I have found. From the very friendly staff to the absolute delicious pastry. We will be definitely be returning! Real taste of home!!!

Love it! I come here with my boyfriend as often as possible! Great food quality, atmosphere, not to mention the awesome staff! I love their raviolis, and they have the best vodka sauce around. If you’re still hungry after the delicious food, I also recommend grabbing dessert here. The chocolate cake is excellent!

Wanting a nice specialty sandwich for a late lunch, Lizz an Old Forge resident of 55 yrs & myself a local stumbled upon Carmellas by chance. Never hearing of this gem in all these years here! Carmellas is certainly worth the visit!
Extremely friendly, nice owners with whome we had a great conversation with as we both sat & enjoyed our deliciously made to order awesome Italian sandwiches. The taste, quality, quantity & pricing were all on the mark with these hoagies! The porketta was just amazing!
We also bought some awesome pastries for take home which were just spectacular. This place of 22 yrs is a gem that we will certainly be back to patronize & tell many others.

Yummm! I only wish I knew of this place sooner. I love the atmosphere and the vibe. I always get the Turkey Supreme and Eugene's famous which is a salad. Its a family owned and run business and it shows. I'm actually going there this Saturday and have been looking forward to it all week. 🥖🥗😋

We stopped to check out this bakery for a potential wedding pastry and Italian cookie order. We were welcomed and treated so nicely from the beginning. They were so helpful going over all the possibilities with us, sharing pictures of items and presentations. They offered us coffee or tea while we worked with them and they gave us some samples to help us make decisions. They were so very helpful with suggestions and more than patient as they worked with four of us and all of our questions. They are very personable and friendly people who made you feel right at home. Oh, and the pastries are delicious. Just what we were looking for in Italian pasties and cookies. Looking forward to continuing to work with them as we plan the wedding.

Hands down the best bakery in Scranton! Everything tastes fresh, the staff are all very friendly, and after trying quite a few items I haven't had anything that wasn't good. The lobster tail pastry and chocolate cake are especially great!

Authentic Italian pastries, meats, cheeses, soups and antipasto. Absolutely delicious. Just like being back on Mulberry and Mott Streets in Manhattan. I am a former New Yorker and drive 2 hours and it was well worth it! I will definitely be back again and again!

This is by far the best place to get true Italian pastries. I found them in Jim Trorpe during our train trip there, and my wife and I have gone back three times and each time this was our first stop. I admit they have excellent pastry and the cost is very fair, and this past week we spent $80.00 so we could bring our family some treats home. Their ecairs are so good, I can not stop eating them, and the apple turnovers are out of this world. If you want true Italian goods you must visit their store or stand at the train station in Jim Trorpe.
