Middleboro Gun Shop

Have purchased the majority if my firearms there. Jim is super nice and helpful and never once did I feel rushed or that I was a bother with all my questions. Like most gun shops its slim pickins in his isles now but before the world went crazy he always had a robust selection.

I visited the Middleboro Gun Shop on the last day of 2018 and had a very pleasant experience. They were low on inventory after the holidays, but not many gun shops are open on Mondays, so I thought I would stop by and see what they had anyway. The owner, Jim, was very friendly. Being a novice, I had lots of questions. He took a significant amount of time to patiently answer all my questions and then some. He knew he did not have the firearm I was looking for, a Ruger Mark IV, in stock, but he was still happy to share knowledge with a beginner and chat.

While there, I noticed a beautiful used 1911 for sale. I went home to do some research. A couple days later, I called Jim to ask some questions about the 1911. He provided all of the information I needed. I asked what time he was closing that day. He said he was planning to leave soon, but would stick around if I was going to come down. I told him I could be there in an hour and he said sure.

When I got there, I saw the sign saying they were closed for end-of-year physical inventory. He had not mentioned on the phone that he would be opening the store just for me, not just staying late. Yes, it’s a potential sale for him. But that’s also great customer service.

Of course, once I got there to look at the 1911 more closely, I had a lot more questions. Jim again spent a lot of time discussing the firearm with me and showing me its condition and how it operated. Even though he had stayed open late to accommodate my visit, I never felt rushed.

I ended up purchasing the 1911 and have enjoyed it immensely. It’s a beautiful piece, and I think I’m going to have trouble keeping my father from ‘borrowing’ it indefinitely. The whole experience was great. The Middleboro Gun Shop is a small owner-operated store, the kind that make this a great country. Jim is generous with his time and knowledge and seems to care about his customers. I would strongly recommend a visit!

Jim is very knowledgeable and went out of his way to share his knowledge about guns with me and answered all of my questions. He was very patient with me and gave me great advice! I am going to buy a firearm from him soon and I look forward to doing business with him in the future. I highly recommend buying your firearms and accessories from this store because they have great customer service and quality products along with great prices and if he doesn't have it in stock he will get it to you with fast shipping!

Jim is an amazing guy makes it so easy to buy and transfer firearms. He is very knowledgeable about laws supper helpful when you have family in other states. I highly recommend his store

Here's my experience:
I went there yesterday, 12/18/2012. I am new and not very knowledgeable yet about my firearm and was shopping for cleaning materials and guides on how to clean my gun. I didn't even know how to take mine apart. I had read the poor reviews about this particular shop and was nervous about asking "beginner type" questions.

When I approached the guy behind the counter (Jim, the owner), he couldn't have been more helpful to me. Even though he was elbow deep in work, he took my pistol and showed me how to take it apart. He didn't stop there. He spent about a half hour with me even though his phone was ringing off the hook and he had customers stacking up behind me. Not only did he make sure that I was comfortable with disassembling my gun but made sure that I knew where to clean and how to oil it and then reassemble it. When we were done, my gun was clean and I knew how to do it myself. I no longer felt like a newbie.

I think that people have to realize that gun shops, above most others, get frequented by nitwits that just want to touch guns and bother the employees with ridiculous questions only to leave without buying anything. I found Jim to be a sincere and incredibly helpful person and I will not buy from anyone else going forward.

If you need firearms or supplies, you owe it to yourself to give this shop a try. I hope that you do.

Good knowledge Jim and his father were both helpfull the dad especially as my dad and I were there to get my dad his first pistol the day he got his ltc and the younger jim deff had plenty of knowledge and so did his dad with helpfull attitude and helping my dad learn the takedown of the ,40 mpS.W. we got ..If you want a good educational firearm purchase experience this is the place to go. Prices were a few dollars more then some other shops and a whole lot less then others...and if youre bitching about prices of guns at this shop you shouldnt be buying them at all. Will deffinetly be returning.

Jim, spent hours with me in his shop answering questions and sharing his experience and opinions with me and I was a 1st time customer. You just don’t get that level of service at many places anymore.
I would definitely recommend Middleboro gun shop.

Went down too see jim yesterday once he opened on 3|29|18 . Pulled up about 9:30am i had drove from new bedford when i say customer service at its best i mean it strongly .

The best gun shop around got my self a new gun the other day the gentleman there was so knowledgeable and helpful and was not like other shops and was not pushy to sell something to me I forget his name but thank you very much I will be going here for my next purchases
