Everyone here is super nice and friendly. Bought my Halcyon BC at this place. Lonnie not only helped me put it together but also gave me a quick history lesson on cave diving & GUE :). After that I went in for a couple other things I needed and was happy every time. It is THE dive shop that has everything you need.

Been using House of Scuba for 4 years not knowing these guys opened this shop 2 years ago. Oh the time I wasted at HOS, when instead SDD shop has been here!
For comparison, at HOS, even air fills were done next day, and half the stuff I ordered was screwed up.
SDD on the other hand, OMG! Same day VIS on my tanks! While you wait Nitrox! Their front desk staff are Tech Divers with tons of experience with New Divers and Seasoned alike!
Seriously, I'm a beach diver with 500+, cheap and easy so I can dive before or after work without pissing off my Mrs is all I'm looking for.
San Diego Divers have renewed my passion for exploring the sea (and maybe saved my marriage) ! Thank You!
Plus, Sorrento Valley is super convenient to drive to! Just 10 minutes to Del Mar, or 20 to LA Jolla Shores. GREAT DUDES! YOU WON'T REGRET CONVERTING! LOVE THIS SHOP!

When I describe Lonnie from San Diego Divers to other people, I tend to use the phrase “Dive Dad”. There is a reason this man is a local legend and sometimes he feels like family to me. Being new, he has taught me everything I need to know about my equipment, helps me make the best decisions for my current and future dive goals, and doesn’t try to sell me on things I don’t need just to run his business. I can honestly look back at all my purchases and tell you I wouldn’t have changed one single thing.

If you're a tech diver in San Diego this is the shop for you. Knowledgeable staff and owners that know a thing or two about diving themselves.

This place is great. I've bought quite a bit of gear here because of the service. And I figure that net net I'm saving money over buying online or occasional big sales. A couple examples: I needed a new set of regs. Malcolm came out and helped me understand I didn't need (or actually want) the more expensive model as it was truly just looks and performance I'd never use. He then convinced me to just service my old primary to use as a secondary, so that saved me a bunch. Another time I needed a new seal on my dry suit - which are expensive and I considered buying online to save a few bucks. But, I bought them at San Diego Divers, and was glad I did. They made sure I got the right size, and when I asked a few questions about installing them, Rob just took me in the back and showed me how to put them on. No charge! And when I bought my drysuit training was included, not so at other places I'd looked, and certainly not the case if I'd have bought online. I think I paid a few bucks for the card or something, but other training courses were a couple hundred bucks, and no way I was diving that without training.

Anyway: they're great. And I feel like other options are penny wise and pound foolish.

Stopped by to gear up for my Maui island adventure and was blown away with the customer service 🏝 Everything they recommended was perfect and I can't want to get my certification in October with this team! Thank you for an excellent customer experience, definitely found my dive shop!

So far this place is amazing! I called to inquire about getting my open water cert and they were incredibly helpful. I can tell that everybody that works at this establishment is very knowledgeable on the topic of diving. Within minutes I was driving down there and a few minutes after that already had my book and online class code in hand!
I am currently waiting on a class date but will be sure to update this as I progress!
Bottom line: Hands down, amazing customer service so far!

We made a visit to San Diego Divers this weekend and WOW - we will be back for all future gear. The staff was very knowledgeable and incredibly accommodating. If you're looking for snorkeling gear skip the chain stores and head to the professionals. Reasonably priced and great quality! Very impressed with the standard and service. Thank you!!

Best dive shop in San Diego! Super helpful and knowledgeable staff with good prices on classes and gear or rentals. I had a great time in my refresher dive and nitrox class.

I purchased the Halcyon quick cinch harness kit. It arrived promptly. There was one small part missing. When I communicated to the Lonnie about the issue he immediately mailed out the missing piece.

I also had some gear questions that Lonnie answered for me.

They are very friendly and knowledgeable. They also probably have the answer to any question you have. There prices are fair and there rental gear is in good condition and well maintained.

I can't say enough amazing things about this shop! As my husband and I are new to the area, Janet spent an enormous amount of time going over San Diego sites, what to look out for, giving us recommendations etc. Great prices on rentals and just over all great customer service! Janet has gained herself some customers for life!

Lonnie, Bernabe, Roy, honestly the entire team at SDD is amazing. There is such a wealth of experience here, in addition to the group being really accommodating, helpful, and considerate. If you want the best scuba dive shop in San Diego, I highly recommend coming here.

My trusted dive shop for gear and servicing. Lonnie, Malcom, Janet and the whole staff are very professional and experienced. And they love diving. I trust them with my life support equipment.

Really friendly folks. I go there for 4,500 PSI fills for my air rifle. Fills are $4 when purchased 10 at a time. Very satisfied, will continue going there for my fills.

My new favorite local dive shop. Very knowledgable and friendly. Janet helped me find exactly what I was looking for in a replacement BCD. Their air fills are priced right, quick and full measure.

While they are primarily a tech shop (with rebreathers, even), with a large tech customer base, they are also friendly and helpful to rec divers. There's no "you must dive tec or die!" vibe :-)

They listen to how you want to dive, how (if) you want to progress to higher levels of training, and help you do what you want to do.

I've heard good feedback on their classes from friends, but not taken any myself (yet).

This place takes care of divers! I got solid advice on a new regulator setup after my ole trusted Sherwood Oasis died. They promote diving not dive business & they don't 'nickel & dime' you for everything like Ocean Enterprises.

Very friendly and filled my SCBA tank (4500 PSI) on the spot for only $5. I will return for my HPA needs. They also do Hydro on site for a very reasonable price.

Received my basic open water certification from this group. Excellent teaching and I felt very comfortable throughout the process. Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed.

Awesome staff, friendly and very knowledgeable. Much larger inside the store. Don’t let the online photos fool you, LOTS of gear and staff inside! Thinking this will be our local dive shop for a while until we move back east. -Semper Fi!
