Astoria Bait and Tackle

If Google allowed 10 star reviews, I'd leave one - we had an excellent day!! And I mean a full day on the water, chasing and catching fish, swapping great stories, learning about the river and local history...it just went on and on. I'm sure there are lots of great guides for the Columbia River operating out of Astoria, but I can't imagine any of them being better than Jason. He obviously loves what he does for a living! As a side note, it was clear from the very beginning that Jason took our safety seriously and I never had any doubt about his boat skills. (If you've spent time on the water you'll know what I mean.) Anyway, don't hesitate to book a trip with Astoria Bait & Tackle - you will not regret it!!! PS: There were two kids on the trip under the age of 12 plus my 18-year-old son and Jason connected with all 3 of them and was friendly and funny! He does give direct instructions when the pressure is on but everyone on the boat (6 of us) sure appreciated that!! I guess if you're looking for someone to coddle your kid and tell them they're doing great even as they throw a fit or drop their rod overboard, Jason may not be the right guide.

Jason also does a guided fishing charter! Jason was an excellent guide out at buoy 10. We fought monster salmon, had a great day out and thoroughly enjoyed his company. Clean well maintained boat, excellent client care. Full fish cleaning and bagging for the ice chest at the end of the day. Jason was willing to stay out as long as we needed to get our fill. The equipment provided was all top notch too

Very friendly and helpful they have frozen bait on hand but for fresh bait you need to order the day before. They deliver to the nearby dock or you can pick up order from a locker after hours.

Friendly people lots of gear. We couldn’t find lead weights at England Marine , but we found them at Astoria Bait and Tackle.

What can I say - you need it and they've got it! They also have one sweet gal behind the counter!

They have whatever bait you need and the tackle selection is incredible. Definitely my go to shop now.
