Amazing small shop with top choices. Owner is aware of each of his bottles, there uniqueness and how they will fit with your palette. He'll steer you toward moderate price wines unless know what your tasting.

I just moved to California and already had the pleasure of getting to know this excellent wine store. Not only is the selection excellent, but also the advice on potential wines. I told him my tastes, and he was super helpful in finding the right wines. I have already opened two of the seven wines I purchased... Magnificent!

Stopped here while on a quick vacation, and have to say this will be an essential visit every time I come to Palm Springs!

Absolutely incredible. They do not stock the usual well-worn items. Instead, every bottle I bought was funky, fantastic, unusual. I am spending the winter in Palm Springs, and I will miss this fabulous resource when I return to the East coast.

I used to be a sommelier and have been studying and collecting wine for more than 40 years. In all that time I have seldom met a wine retailer with the palate, grace under fire, and customer service orientation of John Libonati, the owner of Hyphen in Palm Springs. I found his store during an online search as I was preparing to buy wines to serve at my daughter's recent destination wedding in Palm Springs. His orientation is entirely small, family producers of organic wines, often from out-of-the-way Old World appellations. In fact, his online inventory reminded me of Chambers Street Wines in NY, a pioneer of this genre and lo and behold, it turns out John used to work there

We worked closely together on every aspect of the wedding wines, which ultimately totaled about 10 cases and 8 different wines. John was instrumental in the selection process, arranging for certain wines to be shipped directly to him from an importer’s warehouse in LA, and on-time local delivery. The pricing was incredibly fair.

When the big weekend finally arrived, I stopped by the store to say hi. Hyphen is a small, immaculate jewel, full of diverse, fun, funky, off-the-beaten path wines from around the world. This is a place to go if you are open-minded and curious about wines made with love and the health of the planet in mind. It's the antithesis of a big box concept and represents curation of the highest order. There are hundreds of exciting wines to try in the shop at modest prices. What's more, as he did for me, John will source almost anything you want as long as it's consistent with his underlying philosophy.

Visiting Palm Springs for the week and wanted a bottle of wine to go with dinner since my fiancé wanted to eat in for the evening- perfect selection of pre-chilled options and the owner was so thoughtful and knowledgeable about his suggestions! Love the unique take on a Pinot Grigio that I decided to try- excellent recommendation!

Wow! John at Hyphen exceeded my expectations. I wanted to send a couple of bottles of wine to a client who was celebrating his birthday in Palm Springs. The trouble was that I live in Chicago, and it's not as easy to have booze delivered as it should be. John went out of his way to help me choose two highly-rated wines, wrapped them up in lovely gift bags with tissue paper, and then offered to hand deliver them for me! I'm blown away. I'm going to have to go back to Palm Springs for a vacation soon and drop by the store. Thank you!

Great selection of wine and friendly staff. Nothing is overpriced and they offer a various selection of wines.

hyphen- is great! Super knowledgeable and explains wine in ‘non- wine’ terminology. Prices are competitive. Do not go to a liquor/grocery outlet. Service with John is one on one and a great guy.

Large selection of small- production wineries throughout the world. He also offers Saturday tastings. Looks like fun, we'll be going.

John, the owner, has a wonderful talent for picking out excellent recommendations in a very approachable, down-to-earth, and fun-loving way :) The wine is *so* thoughtfully curated, all at a very good price. Naturally focused, and a to-die-for rosé selection. Literal heaven 🍷💕🌞

This place is a Palm Springs treasure for delicious, natural and affordable wines. John has put together a broad selection for every wine lovers palate. He is very knowledgeable and helpful with a true passion for the grape. I am a big fan of Rosés and there is always a great selection. hyphen has so much more to offer than the options at local grocery or liquor stores and it's a fun spot to shop.

We just happened upon Hyphen during our trip to Palm Springs and we ended up enjoying the wine so much, we returned a few times! The staff is very knowledgeable but also friendly and approachable. The selection is varied, not too overwhelming and all/mostly organic. But above all, the wine is just….really good. It’s nice to support an independent business, let alone a new one. Highly recommend!

Love this place. The wines are carefully curated and I can always count on John to steer me towards something interesting. He manages to be incredibly knowledgeable without a hint of pretentiousness.

John is the greatest. Amazing curation of natural wines, easily the best in the area. If you're in Palm Springs and looking for great Pet Nats, he's 1000% the person to talk to

I've been to Hyphen- a handful of times now and have always been happy with the recommendations from the store's owner and it's a bonus that it's all natural wines. Great selection of Rosé too!

Lovely natural wine store in the city center. Parking was easy and the owner was helpful and friendly. And the wine is delish
