COOL SPOT FOR PICTURES !! I wished i asked where they got the neon CTA sign cause it looks dope ! A lot of options and definitely a place to bring friends to explore and take pictures. Bought some ramen there and had many options. I think they also have a place where u can sit and eat in the back. Cool store overall ✔

Cool new store with lots of Asian + non-asian options. Friend and I said it's very similar to a mix of maggianos and hmart 😂 prices and selection also match that expectation

You can get hotpot ingredients i.e shaved/thin sliced beef, good selection of noodles (one shelf/row), and nice snacks like pocky, KitKat, chips

Dope new store owned by young asian entrepreneurs! (Changed ownership, it’s no longer Urban Market) neon directory lights inside mimic an Asian street market & there are a lot of different items from tons of different cultures available alongside your basics. Prices changed recently after they switched to a touch screen system so it’s pretty affordable for the near downtown area. Now they’ve got a food court in the works. Atm there’s a boba/coffee shop, a Turkey ramen place, a fresh bakery, a bar with bottomless mimosas coming in July, & a protein heavy rice bowl spot. Soon they’ll have a sushi spot & a Korean & Mexican taco joint. Excited to try out the new food!

My first impression of Urban Market was...WOW!

I've never seen an independent, family run store with this many quality and locally made products. There is a huge variety of products, many that I've never seen in any other store, and I noticed that many of them originate or are made in the Chicago area. So if you truly want to shop "local", this seems like the place to do it.

Considering that they opened in the middle of winter, during a pandemic induced global supply shortage, I don't know, it seems like they did a pretty good job to me?

It looks like they are still slowly bringing in more products and getting up to speed, but I am already impressed with what I see.

As for my shopping experience...Parking in the attached garage is free with validation and very simple. An elevator took me from the garage and conveniently dropped me off inside the store.

I grabbed a latte from their café and a spinach pie from their kitchen, I'm picky as hell about my coffee and pickier about my spinach pie, so I was surprised when both exceeded my expectations.

As I started pushing my cart around the store I thought about how I don't really enjoy grocery shopping anymore, especially at the big corporate grocers like Jewel {owned by Albertson's} or Mariano's {owned by Kroger's) because regardless of which location you go to, all the stores seem the same to me? Even though they are run by billion dollar companies...you walk down one dingy, narrow, badly lit aisle to get to another. Then you get to the crowded checkout, only to wait in one long line! It always seems the same.

By comparison, Urban Market is family owned store that sells lots of quality local products. The store is bright and just has a sparkly, happy vibe. The aisles are wide, the lighting is vivid and they have a huge variety of neat stuff. It seemed like every time I turned a corner, I was saying "Oh that's cool." "I've never seen that before?" "Oooh I wanna try that!" The layout is open and inviting and the selection of quality imported and local products is impressive and makes shopping there fun.

Lots of people I have spoken to are excited about Urban Market's addition to the neighborhood, and they should be...its an independent, family run business that sells quality products.

Its the kind of store a neighborhood can be proud of.

So urban market has really stepped up the customer service I use to wonder why the staff wouldn't say anything it was weird actually especially at these price points . I went in for my usual and couldn't believe my server from holu steakhouse was there his name is Leo he was standing with a long haired Asian lady he said was his boss and boy when I tell you his energy and hospitality was over the top I just can't shop anywhere else now. That's how you work guys . Whoever the new owners are better take notes from that guy all my friends from the building and I will only come to urban market whole foods better watch out this guy's service is top notch and consistent from restaurant to grocery this is awesome

Great full service grocery and great location for West Town! All new & clean construction in this grocers complex and adjoining apartments and offices. We're in an apartment nearby and visit this store frequently. The area surrounding the store has improved significantly with addition of new apartments, better road and sidewalks and the CVS next door.

Small, local grocery stores are a tough business but this place is really trying to make it work! I love being able to get all sorts of different things at a convenient neighborhood spot. Also, their employees are kind and helpful. Just tonight a very nice man named Leo - he went out of his way to ask if I had everything I needed and if he could help me find anything. Something I can’t remember anyone at Whole Foods asking me since… Amazon bought them.

This store is gradually morphing into a really interesting Asian market with items you won't find anywhere around here. All new neon lighting and a food court in progress.

Really nice store; have been waiting 14 years for a large grocery store to come to the neighborhood. Some reviewers have said that the store carries typical products you can find anywhere. WRONG! There are many unusual products, many locally sourced. Many products for foreign cuisines. A selection of spices, rubs, sauces, for example, that is better than you can find at Whole Foods. A wide variety of nuts as well. Produce is of high quality and fresh. Haven't tried the coffee bar or any prepared foods yet. Can't really speak to how price competitive the store is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Free parking for 90 minutes in their lot with a $10 purchase.

Asian style supermarket with lots of fast food places to eat, including ramen, wok, desert and beer + Wine bar, and of course a supermarket. Anime decoration throughout. Super cool spot if you’re into it

This is a great Asian market in the area! Lots of fun finds from all over Asia, with a canteen off to the side. Fresh bakery and bubble tea.

Urban Market is incredible! We have been going multiple times per week since they opened. The location is amazing and the selection of products is unlike anything in the area.

They have a wide range of local products (coffee, baked goods, beverages, high quality meats) and we’ve tried so many new things because of this store.

Their prepared meats are delicious - we’ve tried the salmon burger, turkey burger, chicken tacos and chicken fajitas and they’re awesome. Our favorite made-to-order item from The Kitchen is the chicken stir-fry! We have it at least once per week.

So happy this store is finally open after watching the build process for about a year. The owners truly care about immersing themselves in the community and getting to know their customers. I can’t wait to try more products and support small businesses in the process!

Really happy they opened. Urban Market has free parking for customers (once validated) and a wide variety of products and produce.

I liked being able to find my every day staples and an abundance of new things to try too.

They also have a fresh, made to order, hot bar that I have been grabbing quick lunches and dinners from. So far all good tasting choices.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Clean facility, fast restocking and good food. A much needed addition to the neighborhood.

We were so excited for UM to open and it did not disappoint. We love this store, especially the quality of the meats and produce. It has everything you need, well stocked and the prices are as good as the larger chains, if not better. And if we do not feel cooking, we love to run over for the hot food bar. My favorite is the wide variety of sushi (give it a try)! This is a great addition to the neighborhood!

As a local resident I have been coming here since it's opened and have watched it evolve. I'm excited for the new branding and food market to open. Please, please, please keep your vibe and selection. You have all my pantry staples plus standard grocery fare. Usually I have to go to Hmart and Mitsuwa to get everything I need regularly and here you have it all. I do miss the selection of indian/middle eastern goods, but I also understand why you had to concentrate down to expand your general selection.

They also have great meat options and their produce section has always been so high quality. I hope you are able to offer SNAP/EBT again soon for folx.

Everything on my grocery list was found here, I did not have to go to different stores to get all the items on my list, I am thankful that my time was saved.

When I couldn't find something I asked a staffer who led me to find it. Very friendly work staff.

The entire store is clean and bright.

The amount of choices in incredible- I live in a house where Keto and vegans live and I was able to find multiple dinner options to accommodate everyone.

Nice layout, wide variety of many nice items. Meats are USDA choice to Prime with good prices. Chicken is comparable to Jewel.

Beautiful store with a huge variety of products. Easy to shop for the week, or for a quick stop. Prepared food is as good as I have ever had. Incredible baked goods and love the café!
Like the convenient garage parking when I buy for the week, but love the easy street parking when I'm in a hurry. Welcome!

In a city of great grocery stores, Urban Market is easily the best. We go multiple times every week and the quality of every product could not be better, from sushi-grade seafood to prime steaks. Considering the high quality of the products, the prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Great prepared food and coffee bar as well.

I’ve been to Urban Market three times since they’ve opened and have been so pleased with the selection and experience there. The staff is so nice and helpful and the prepared food is incredible. The stir fry and pizza are made so well and pricing is so reasonable. They’re still working out some kinks with the self check out but the staff was available to assist. We’re so so excited to have Urban Market in the neighborhood!!!
