West Side Grocery

This is my new favorite grocery in Cookeville.
I was prepared to pay a little more, since most of the produce is organic and local when in season. But, to my surprise, and delight, the prices are cheaper than Kroger. The bulk isle for spices and staples is great, again, very competitively priced. To be fair, I love having a store in Cookeville that carries items I usually have to travel out of town to get, and I would shop here even if it was more expensive. But, in my experience, I’m spending less than I do at the big grocery chains.
For you folks who are traveling through town on I-40, this is a great place to stop for a quick delicious breakfast or lunch. There are ready made salads and sandwiches, and a selection of the best pastries, cookies and bread from Meg’s bakery, next door.
Just get there before 5:00pm. It’s so worth a ten minute drive off the interstate.

This place is so great. The owners and employees are wonderful people and the products are high quality, especially the produce from Shiloh Farm. Bread and pastries next door and groceries to go along with it all in one spot! Treat yourself people

Organic foods are expensive. I wanted fresh baked sourdough bread but decided not to buy any because the 8 dollar loaf was small, and for a family of 4, it wouldn't last us a day. The veggie selection lacked in variety, no fruits, and very few cheeses in the dairy dept., and no bread & butter sampler. The esthetics of the store are visually uninviting; dull. That said, the 2 young ladies working that day were nice & social.
