The Funky Fern is the BEST new hidden gem in town!!! They have the coolest vintage items. I did almost all of my Christmas shopping here. Their merch is so different. If you’re looking for cool with a twist of nostalgia, this is the place to shop.

Whether you’re just visiting or live in the area, they have something for everyone. You will not find the typical touristy items in this shop ever.

The owners Kristyn and Carrie are so sweet! They sell and support a lot of local artistry, as well, which I love, it adds an even more interesting flare to this awesome shop.

Beautifully curated store where you can spend an hour or two just browsing - this place is a paradise for interesting vintage items at affordable prices. It’s nice to see a curated vintage space that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for their stuff! They also focus on supporting local artists, too, which I love to see. I’ve found all kinds of vintage treasures here, and the Appalachian Jules candles they carry are SO GOOD - they burn well and smell delicious. Go to Frog Level just to check out this gem - I guarantee you’ll find something.

This is my most favorite store in WNC. The selection is carefully curated. Vintage furniture, knickknacks, and clothing, locally made candles, soaps, and hats, one of a kind pieces from local artists, and a plant sanctuary are all rolled into one unique and welcoming shop. The owners are incredibly kind and genuine people. My home is quickly becoming a tribute to this incredible gem. All the stars for Funky Fern!

I love this place!! It's like my brain in a store. I wasn't sure if I needed a whole new living room or a whole new wardrobe. The owners are great at curating the space visually -- I wanted to buy it all. Plus I was greeted with a doorway full of bubbles. Forever a Waynesville staple.
