Dollar General

Used Dollar General to create a hurricane prep kit. Pretty much filled it up for about $30, including a lock top bin. They had almost everything on my list at discount prices.

Went in this newly open store. Nice new building with most shelves and cases stocked. There was even two cashiers on duty!
It would be nice of Corporate would have invested money into the DG store in Boiling Spring Lakes that has been around for years and serves a community of thousands!

I had a very disappointing experience at Dollar General # 24629 due to their poor customer service. I visited on several dates and was immediately struck by how unwelcoming the staff were. No one speaks!! No one smiles. Like are you not happy to be at work?! Staff outside in the front smoking cigarettes with their husband who showed up in a red bug in a rug truck. Staff rushed me out of the door to go talk and smoke.

Let me clear up my review. Not all of the staff but the 2 black females that work here are rude!! There have been times where I’ve come in and the two male staff always speak, smile and greet. As a black woman myself this is a disgrace. I asked one of the female staff one time “do you talk, do you speak?” she half smiled and said l do. I responded “you never speak when l come to this store, not when l walk in or even when I’m at your register.” She doesn’t tell you the amount you owe or anything. She was in her phone like my business wasn’t important.

Overall, the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff made for an unpleasant visit. I had high hopes for Dollar General based on its location, but my experience was far from satisfactory. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works on improving their customer service.

I will not be returning and cannot recommend Dollar General store #24629 based on several experiences. They are not about to keep receiving my hard earned money and every experience have been uneasy.

Just got home with a jug of milk that I just got from doller general and I pored me a glass and it was chunky so I didn’t get to enjoy my glass of milk after a long day at work, smh
