I had an amazing experience here! I’ve wanted to get more into running and I had read it was good to go to a running store to have them recommend specific shoes based on how your feet are and the level of support you need and this is exactly the experience I wanted and received. The man who helped me (seemed like the owner?) was extremely knowledge and I felt confident with what I got. I really enjoyed that they didn’t just try and sell you the most expensive shoe in the store either and seemed to recommend quality over quantity. I’ve seen complaints about the price on other reviews but I think it’s worth it to go here and pay a little bit more for the experience and tailored recommendations for what’s best for you! Overall recommend to anyone wanting to get into running.

I had a great experience! The man who helped me, who I believe is the owner, was very knowledgeable not only with the shoes, but with the importance of finding a shoe specifically for my needs. He gave me information about how my foot/ankle moves when I walk and how I would need a certain type of support for that. He definitely had anatomical knowledge. I could tell he was passionate about helping people find shoes to fit their needs rather than just trying to sell the shoes. And he was able to order the shoes in the color I needed straight to my home. Will be coming back next time I need a new pair!

I love shopping local and this is no exception. They've been around for a while and for good reason because their knowledge of running gear alone is invaluable. Great customer service, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, variety of running shoes and gear.

Fantastic service and fantastic recommendations! The staff member who helped me at OK Runner was very kind and helpful. I have very flat feet and they have been hurting a lot over the past couple of years. It’s also causing me knee pain. I don’t run but I workout and haven’t been able to do any leg work or even walk in the neighborhood without a lot of pain. After trying a few recommendations that were made, I settled on this pair of Brooks. I went home and was able to do 30 squats and 30 Kettlebell thrusters without any pain whatsoever! I also like to cook and can be in the kitchen for a couple of hours at a time. After wearing my shoes on the tile for that long, no pain! I am beyond thrilled and can’t believe that good shoes can make THIS much of a difference.

Thanks to the staff for being so knowledgeable and knowing exactly what I needed simply by looking at me walk in the front door. It may sound dramatic but this help and these shoes seem to be giving me the ability to reclaim doing the things I like without the pain I had been experiencing. Thank you sooooo much OK Runner team!

I’ve stopped by twice now and the staff has been nothing but nice. Aaron in particular gave me some great advice on where to run in Norman because I’m moving here and he gave me great tips on an app to download and what to expect in my upcoming marathon. Really nice people, they carry great products, and it’s nice to have a running store where I’m moving to. Give this place a visit!

Incredible locally owned retail, wonderful members of our community great organizers of fantastic events. One of Norman‘s finest families and a fantastic running store on top of all that. Go see them support them get your running gear there. Pick up energy bars goo packs and anything else that will make you run fast.

I've bought a couple pairs of shoes, a running watch and a few other things here within the past few months. I'm overweight and need a lot of help to better myself and the community they create at this store is great! They know their stuff and are willing to help.

Supporting local businesses in all my purchases is my goal, but when that business turns around to support the local community, I will never shop anywhere else for the products they sell. OK Runner supports their community... So yes, I highly recommend them. And as a local dog trainer its even better for me, because they love their dogs.

They have very knowledgeable staff! They helped me pick the best running shoes for me just from asking a few questions and looking at my stance. Will definitely be buying all my running gear from them.

I went here today to find some new running shoes because I don't like the most recent version of Altras and had to find a new brand to wear. The staff was SUPER helpful and knowledgeable and helped me find some amazing new running shoes! They are brands that I didn't even know I liked! Very happy with my experience at OK Runner. I previously bought shoes at Red Coyote and had a great experience there, but they are all the way up in the city. My physical therapist here in Norman (Brett at Select PT) told me about OK Runner, and how they’re the same type of store as Red Coyote but locally owned by another customer of his, and he couldn’t say enough great things about them!

I had loved my current pair of shoes to death, lol, and had developed plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I’m only in my mid-30s and was hobbling around like my dad, who is on his second knee replacement in his 70s. 😬

All I did was walk into OK Runner, take my shoes off, and the sales guy immediately had me sized up and a shoe recommended to me. I was skeptical, so I asked a ton of questions. And the guy delivered. He knew his stuff. He showed me exactly why he was recommending what he was recommending, and I was impressed, even though the results were the opposite of where my feet had been a few years before.

I bought those shoes, knowing I needed new ones, not expecting miracles, just being glad to have clean and shiny shoes, haha. And lo and behold, about a week later, I realized I had no more foot pain.

About a year later, I saw some shiny colorful shoes in a store and bought them, not caring if they were right for my feet, and within a week, my foot pain was back. Went back to my shoes from OK Runner, and my pain went away again.

These people know what they’re talking about, and I am, in fact, heading there now to buy my next pair as soon as they open at 10 am. 😁

I just came from here and it was a great experience. The staff was very helpful and informed on their products, and sold me the best for for my needs and not necessarily just their bottom line. I came away very impressed and thankful for their time and attention to detail. If you want a quality athletic shoe that is for your specific body type and activity, I'd highly recommend going here!

OK Runner in Norman is a fantastic store with great employees! My wife, my son, and I visited on 3/3/21. They had a large selection of shoes. The young man that helped us was great! I cant remember his name though. He took my shoes and examined them to see how my feet planted. He also had me walk to see the strike of my feet. He was able to recommend a few pairs of shoes based on his observations. They had a dog named Mikey that was very friendly, and my son loved. They also offered a military discount which I will be letting all my fellow Marines know since running for us is a must.

Emma was beyond exceptional !
She greeted me as soon as I walked into the store. Emma was welcoming , comfortable to be around and to the point. She listened, FULLY ENGAGED LISTENING , not just waiting for me to finish - she really heard me and wasn’t impatient or interrupting me to tell me what she knows... she HEARD me as I rambled about flat feet and pain...
and then told me her observations and what they meant. Emma was patient & knowledgeable .

The shoe I wanted was a little more $ than I have currently, so I didn’t get them today but due to Emma’s expertise - I now know what size AND what shoe I am getting soon !!!

The other employees /customer interactions were the same. At one point everyone was laughing together. This store has an exceptional team, with a high vibe = making for an awesome experience

This store is about the only "mom and pop" store of its kind in the Metro, and we're lucky enough that it's in Norman. The owners are die-hard runners and heavily involved in the running community. I'm not a runner, but I need specialty running shoes for motion control. The staff are friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and very helpful. They didn't have the shoe I wanted in my size, and they gladly ordered it from the manufacturer. It came in under 2 weeks later and they promptly called me.

If you want expert help in running shoes, go see these folks. They also have socks, support sleeves, and running clothes.

To make your visit even better, the owner often brings his Golden Retriever to work and you can pet the sweetest dog in Norman. If I can get new shoes and pet a beautiful dog, I count that as a great day.

Craig at OK Runner has kept me running and exercising with his great shoe advice for over 30 years. They are so much about helping people and making sure they stay injury and pain free. Craig has also made my orthotics for years. I can't recommend them enough and wouldn't go anywhere else for shoe and orthodic advice.

My new fav place. Family owned and great customer service. 1st responder discount. Selection is great in all styles with newest models. Cannot emphasize how much care they pay attention to your needs to put you in the correct shoe for maximum performance abs customer satisfaction!
