Big Jim's Food Mart

The best way to describe Big Jim's is it's your grill in the country store on steroids! Whereas most grills offer a handful of menu items for breakfast and a few more for lunch, usually consisting of biscuits, burgers, and hot dogs, Big Jim's offers a huge selection of down home meals in addition to the usual fare. You can get burgers and fries, but you can also have everything from fish to ribs, pork chops, stew, bologna, and even chitterlings. Bacon, ham, and several different sausages are also on the menu. Side items include potato salad, cabbage, peas, beans, whatever you would expect to be on your grandmother's table for Sunday dinner in addition to fast food type foods like chili cheese fries. More than a few desert options of cakes, pies, cobblers, and puddings. Service is fast and friendly, food is hot, but it's greasy comfort food. Don't look for vegan options as even the veggies are seasoned with pork. If you're in the Rocky Mount - Tarboro and like this type of food, it's definitely worth a stop.

Best fuel stop cuisine in the county! Recommend everything they offer up. Have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and awesome southern food. It'll make ya smack ya mamma! Keep up the great work guys. When working nearby I'll go out of my way to make a stop

I've never been disappointed with the food. Great cooks! However, they may need additional help because everytime we have gone there the cooks seemed frustrated and really stressed out! Or maybe customer service training would help! Being kind don't cost a thing! 😉

I’m a trucker and while the parking is a little hazardous it’s worth it. It’s real food. It’s grease fat hot tasty and filling. It’s everything that southern food is supposed to be. A big trucker thumbs up and an air horn till I run out of air!!!!!!

Oh man that fried pork chop biscuit with chunk of cheese and coleslaw…. So good it make a bulldog break it’s chain!

Food is southern good country food. These 2 ladies are awesome cooks. The food is awesome beef stew, collards , bread pudding are my favorites!!!!! Yummy taste like my moms cooking
