The Island Store

My husband and I went shopping prior to our arrival on Captiva. Unfortunately, we forgot foil for grilling and needed more coffee to get us to the end of our stay. The prices are definitely dramatically increased because of being on the island. That said, we found what we needed along with a few other items. The guys running the store that evening were awesome! Down to earth, happy and able to answer any questions customers threw at them. Do your major grocery shopping before crossing the bridge to Sanibel/Captiva but if you or your significant other forgot an item or two you are pretty sure to find what you need at the Island Store. PS...Queenie's Ice Cream is no longer available following Hurricane Ian per store employee 😢.

I was shocked at everything this little store could hold! Coming to Captiva, I anticipated having to go to Sanibel for any groceries we needed, but The Island Store had it all! Milk, eggs, coffee, creamer, bread, beer, wine, etc (even the gummy bears my daughter loves). They also had a sandwich shop, great produce, and some prepared items. Also cute items for a gift or a token of paradise that is Captiva.

Great little grocery & deli on the island! Super friendly and attentive employees. Nice liquor selection as well as groceries, sundries and prices that were expected. ❤

Love this little place! Come here for all your shopping needs, groceries and otherwise. They have a surprisingly large selection for their small size, and the prices are actually great! Big walk in cooler and liquor store as well. We visited here every other day on vacation. Excellent spot.

all u need while on the island! love the store! prices are a bit high but it's a island! saves from driving to Ft.Meyers !! people friendly and they have a nice liquor room and wine assortment!

I have been in the hospitality area for 55 years.Visiting this gem was only enhanced by Chris and his staff.

Awesome renovation job, to a island treasure! The store is a great place to pick up items you forgot before you ventured out. The best (and only) beer cave on the island. Great selection of liquors as well. Hats off to the Bailey’s for taking their time and getting the job done right!

Always enjoy going here to pick up a few things. Thank you for your years of making our vacation fun.

Update.... Wow... The place looks great. Also, it is great. It might be silly but I always enjoy going to the store. I love this place and it is an important part of the Captiva experience. Thank you for making my vacation even better year after year.

Really cute general store, with just about everything you may have forgotten. Good food options, great liquor store. Little pricey but you don’t have many options close by other than this one!

Love this place. Good variety of food and drinks if you don’t want to go out to eat or just to get snacks for the beach. Staff is always friendly! Store is clean and parking right in front! Doesn’t get any easier.

Had everything I needed along with a wide range of other items to choose from.
I have read a few comments on this business and others about masks, social distancing, etc... IF YOU ARE THAT CONCERNED AND FEEL YOU ARE AT RISK OF COVID STAY HOME SO THE REST OF US CAN ENJOY OURSELVES. I have seen 4 people on the beach... on the BEACH with masks on.... please stay home if you are that afraid.

Fabulous store! Very friendly and helpful staff. If you have celiac disease, there are lots of gluten-free options. Importantly there is an impressive selection of wine, beer, healthy foods, fresh produce and fresh and frozen meats. Better prices and more selection than the stores at the South Seas Island Resort; it's a short walk from the south end of the resort - totally worth the walk.
One question - I'd like to get in touch to ensure there are some gluten-free favourites available when I arrive. The website doesn't seem function. How can I contact you?

Nice little corner store. Sells all the essentials. Liquor store located next door. I saw complaints about the prices and hours, but they do post that they close at 6pm and it's a general store on an island so I did expect a markup. People are very friendly. Visited this place almost everyday during our stay for snacks and essentials.

Great place to stock up your Villa on the Captiva resorts. A little bit of everything you need to include liquor, wine, frozen pizza's, condiments and much more. Much better prices than the Captiva Provision Company. Very busy little intersection, but worth the trouble.

Great little store with all the basics you need, along with an extensive beer and liquor selection.

Very convenient, not the cheapest place but you can walk to and from if renting a condo near here. Most items are only slightly more expensive than i wanted to pay, was worth it for the conveniences. The employees and owners are great.

My husband went into the store to buy a can of Fix-A-Flat for what we believe to be as a slow leak in our tire. To our dismay it was a complete flat. The gentleman named Richard at the store helped my husband for hours work on his tire to ensure our safety. He reaped no benefit from his efforts, just remarked "that's what we all are here on this planet for, is to help each other". GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT PLACE.
