Harpers Ferry General Store

Cute store. Have visited many times and plan to keep swinging by when able. Some of these reviews are very strange. I’ve never had an issue with the owner or workers. Always pleasant, never spewing political stances, etc. makes me wonder if they are fake accounts?

Nice shop located close to the historic Harpers Ferry National Park. Very friendly staff on hand and their selection of items greatly vary. Highly recommend a stop at this store. Check it out!

Loved our visit here - great trail gear and snacks and wonderful friendly folks to assist. Try the Bourbon Chocolate Bar… surprisingly delicious. .

Joe was the clerk helping me purchase a pair of Ultra hiking boots and was very helpful. Very friendly and went out of his way to help. I don't know who these other people talked to and complained about but It wasn't Joe.

The lady at the counter was incredibly personable and very helpful! We had a lovely time at Harper's Ferry and really enjoyed our stop in at the General Store.

The other reviews on here are strange.. I thought the owner was super nice and personable. I also enjoyed the Grateful Dead playing in the back. I would come back!

There’s something about this little store, that makes me feel at home! Every time I go in here, I always leave with something haha.. The workers are always fun and friendly, and the clothes are such great quality! It’s a perfect little gift shop, right in the heart of Harpers ferry :)

Excellent staff and stock of goods, had everything we wanted, the guys working there were very helpful and friendly!

Great items for day hiking, tourists, and gifting. Owner was darling.

This was in my opinion the best souvenir shop in the area. I could have gone home with half the shop, no problem. I am happy with the items I limited myself to. The shop keeper however is a different story. Very standoffish and inhospitable. The general feeling I got from every other shop owner in the area was so welcoming and accommodating that this was a rude "speed bump" in my visit that definitely caught me off guard. I might go back again because I loved their hats and hoodies, I might just need some liquid patience supplied by the good people at the Rabbit Hole before making another purchase from Lord Voldemort.

Completely agree with the previous review. The owner just cared about chatting with the young hikers rather than helping out customers. He hung outside with them and was chatting with them for hours while I was in Harpers Ferry for the day. But the owner doesn’t care about this review, right? He just cares that “hardly any pretty girls hike in Harpers Ferry anymore and when they do, they are surrounded by 6 guys.” Professional business owner, right?

The young guy at the counter is pushy with his extremist propaganda. I had to rush my family out when he started being beligerent. Who knew that such a racist would work in a town known for civil equality and rights. He is young and apparently very right wing. Hates cops. Why do I know all of this? He insisted on telling me.

Shop offers many great items. Clean and well organized. But the old man shopkeeper was very unprofessional and unpleasant person. While checking out we added a item before he ran my card and he got a little irritated with us. There are many other cute shops near by. And you will be welcomed there
