Hometown Supermarket

This is the biggest Asian supermarket in the Birmingham area. Probably more than 20,000 items in the store including lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a huge assortment of live fish and seafood. Where else can you buy the beautiful parrot fish! There’s even a huge selection of cooking utensils, and dinnerware. These is an unique selection of beers and wines found nowhere else. This is one of the very few places I would say that grocery shopping can be exciting! Check out the pictures and see if you don’t agree.

Amazing place!. Wide selection of many items ... Asian, Indian, Hispanic and other international ingredients. Extensive produce, meats and fish/seafood offerings. Place is HUGE ... clean and well stocked. Friendly folks.

It’s one of the latest places to get Asian groceries, a great place to get fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and fish too. They usually have fresh Banh Mi bread in the entrance, along with fresh Sesame Balls. There’s a huge selection of instant noodles, the frozen section is well stacked too.

This store has an amazing selection of foods from all over the world. Their noodle, rice, spice, frozen bun, and sauce selections are exhaustive. I never buy soy sauce, sesame oil, or rice anywhere else because of their superior price and selection. They have a selection of kitchen ware and home goods in the back. The aisles are narrow, the smell of the seafood selection permeates, and the building is always freezing. The selection and prices are worth it.

I loved going to this store today. I was missing Super H Mart from Atlanta and found this store near my house! It had everything that I needed and then some. It was a very large store to walk through. I loved the varieties of noodles, teas, fresh fruit and vegetables, rice, sauces, sea food, large frozen aisles and so on. They sell food from different areas around the world too. I walked through the home goods aisle and picked up a glasslock container, I love these for food storage. A few items I picked up were kimchi, tofu, mandu, banana milk, kabocha squash and many other great things. If you come across this store, stop and take a look; I am sure you will find fun things to try out.

Great selection! Better prices on Asian rices than even walmart, and they have foods from all over the world. I like the selection of non-food items, too, like pillar candles and dishware. It'd be a good place to shop for gifts, and the boba shop inside is high quality. Im really happy this store is in town.

Came across this place by accident. Sad to say I never knew it was even here. I was so impressed by all the things there was offered. Many different cultures were represented from Chinese, Japanese, Indian. Mexican and on and on. Many items I have not seen before. Can’t wait to co

Best selection of International foods in this area I have found. Fresh and live fish, crabs, octopus, and squid. Lots of rice in large packages. Sauces, spices, veggies. And so on. Found a sauce no one else in Jefferson or Shelby county had.

Biggest selection in the birmingham area. If you need your asian goodies, this is the place to go. Looking for pocky? They have a whole isle. Looking for that legit ramen? They have 2 whole isles. Are you looking for blue crab cheaper than anywhere? Check. Looking for your Asian fruits and vegetables? They got them fresh. Love this store 10/10.

An interesting supermarket with a variety of foods from different cultures to try. Pricing is fair, and checkout is simple and fairly quick.

Hometown supermarket is famous for it's fresh fruits, vegetable and fish. Besides, It's near the downtown.

Every oriental food ingredient you could want as well as Latino, Indian, African, and Indonesian sections. Lots of fresh produce. Lots of seafood and meat selections.

Huge selection of international snacks and sauces. Most impressed by the produce - diverse and gorgeous! From cactus to malanga to jackfruit to three types of dragonfruit. They even have balut (if you’re into that)! Kids loved picking out unique snacks and exploring!

In my opinion, the best Asian Supermarket I have been to in any state I've lived. It took me back to when I lived in Seoul Korea as soon as I walked in!

Not sure when this place opened but I went for the first time today and it feels like a brand new store. Bigger, more modern, and cleaner than any other Asian grocery store in the area (that I've been to, at least). Also they have an aisle devoted to Mexican/Central American foods and an aisle with Indian foods. Huge selection of fresh produce as well as fresh and frozen meats/seafood. Prices are, for the most part, very competitive. This is my new Asian market of choice in the Birmingham area!
