Ichiban Japanese Food Store

This is is wonderful! I was expecting it to be a combo grocery store and Daiso , huge variety of hard to find food, sauces and snacks. I only wish I saved more of my paycheck to buy more. I JUST FOUND THEY HAVE FREEZERS FULL OF MORE WONDERFUL HARD TO FIND STUFF! 😃😃😃

I randomly found this place walking around the Lynnhaven Mall area and I'm glad I did. The goods are straight from Japan and it's Japanese-owned as far as I can tell. I was so happy to find Mitsuya Cider there as I can't really find it anywhere else in the area. I introduced my brother to this place today and he enjoyed it as well. The snacks are also priced better when compared to other shops I've found so far.

Genuine Japanese store in Virginia Beach! The staff is Japanese and speak fluent Japanese.

There is a wide selection of Japanese snacks and grocery items, but I did not see any vegetables. There was plenty of sashimi quality fish on hand, as well as other seafood items.

The prices were about what I expected from a niche shop. If you’re in the area and looking for genuine Japanese products, I highly recommend you check out this store.

Amazing Japanese store! It was my first time visiting, and the lady was so nice to help me find my favorite natto! They had so much stuff, I would love to visit again and take a full look at everything next time. I got there almost towards closing time.

this is BY FAR my favorite Japanese market/shop in town for the simple fact that they have so many options! Not only that, every time I have gone, I have had the most wholesome interactions with the staff and they are all so sweet and will always greet you with the kindest smiles. They are very patient with explaining what different things are for those of us who are exploring new things and can’t read Japanese. I definitely recommend shopping here for your Japanese essentials!

What can I say! They have fish cake, NATTO, frozen ramen noodles not dried!
And probably everything else you need for a good home made ramen dinner!

This store is my new favorite! I LOVE the owner, Tomoko , she’s the sweetest lady ever. She gave us a big pack of chocolate because we just got engaged in Tokyo and she was so happy for us not even knowing us personally.

Also the prices are so fair. This is a little Japan 🇯🇵 here in VA beach and brings all the good memories back.
