Great business they close at 430 and the guy still took care of me last minute even though i only was spending 30$! He definitely didnt have to but he did. You don't get service this good much places anymore !

Chris solved all my issues and I left a happy customer.

I called up Praxair on 7/19/17 to find out if they carried B sized acetylene tanks for a new acetylene-air torch I recently purchased for hobby brazing. I was quoted what I thought was a reasonable price for a re-sale tank full of acetylene and confirmed they had them ready to pickup at their 1210 Nance location. I went to the store over my lunch hour. At first the place didn't look like much from the outside, but once I was inside I was very pleased with what I saw.

The store was was clean and very well organized. Chris, who was working that day was extremely friendly and genuinely pleased to help me out with purchasing a new tank and the questions I had.

The store had a decent amount of equipment and parts for Victor, Smith, and Miller, plus other miscellaneous equipment. I picked up not only a re-sale tank of acetylene, but also decided to pickup a mc/b tank wrench as well.

Chris explained their purchase and swap out policy and made sure that I understood I could swap out any tank I purchased, but if I wanted "my tank" to be filled that it's a two week wait for "my tank" to get filled. I fully understood that it's how it works at almost any place that carries gas. I personally didn't mind owning the tank and swapping it out and receiving another. Some folks are picky on that, but it's a tank and as long as it certified and in decent shape - it works for me.

They have a pickup/drop off area for tanks and a garage loading area as well which I thought was nice - not a dock - but it's in the same building. Chris brought me my tank and had me look it over after I went through the purchase process, which is about the same as anyplace. Fill out receipt of hazardous material, understand there are hazmat and handling charges since it's "dangerous stuff" and then finally get it processed on my credit card and I was good to go.

Most folks don't realized that whenever you go to a "new place" for gas you'll almost always have to go through the process that are buying dangerous stuff, and that you know you have to pay for some hazmat charges for said gas, and then you make your payment - but anytime after that it's faster once you're in the system.

How was the cost? It cost a little bit less than what I was quoted by the office on the phone since I was buying a resale tank and not a shiny new one - which works out fine by me. It was cheaper than a brand new one but still valid on inspection. The cost of refills is about what you pay around town in the very low 30's range.

I was extremely pleased with the process. I was happy with my purchase and definitely will be going back when I have more time to look at all the other welding supplies that were in the store. Neat and tidy, all nicely organized and calling out to me to buy them! It's by no means a huge store, but it was big enough to have enough stuff to make me want to come back.

What they don't have on hand they can order as well, which I thought was nice. Chris was definitely customer oriented, friendly, courteous, and respectful, and didn't come off as the type who wants to show off his knowledge of welding - which some places I've been to has the "know it all" that loves to impart unasked for knowledge at every chance - which annoys me - but Chris was a easy going guy that the place was a real joy to be at. I just wish I had more time to look around!

If I had to give a rating on things on a scale of 1 being just awful and 10 being outstanding I'd give the following.

10/10 Courteous and friendly demeanor

10/10 Clean and relaxed atmosphere
9/10 Competitive Pricing (in my opinion - depends on what you think is fair)

I will definitely be going back and I sure hope that Chris is working when I do since people that are working in the "store" make up at least half of the whole experience when buying things like this.

It might take a little bit of tracking to find the place, but once I got there it was worth it!
