Charm City Run

A small but fully stocked running store right in the heart of Bel Air. I was visiting from out of town and my sister recommended I stop in. The staff were so impressive and knowledgable about all things running. I overheard a few conversations with runners ranging from beginner to advanced and the staff were true subject matter experts regardless of experience. The products were high quality and the staff weren’t pushy. I definitely recommend this shop!!

The staff was excellent and able to help me and others simultaneously. No one felt ignored even though the store was full of customers. The staff was very knowledgeable and checked my walk and jog, looked at the wear on my old shoes, and measured my feet. I left with a great pair of shoes that fit my feet perfectly. I will have a much better exercise experience thanks to Charm City Run.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience today! Josh and Amy were both incredibly patient and attentive as they helped me find a new pair of shoes. I’m not the easiest customer - I’ve been struggling to find a good pair of shoes for work for a while on my own - but they never once made me feel burdensome, even as they handled a large rush of other customers at the same time. And they stuck with me until we found a pair that worked.

This is definitely the shoe store I’ll stick with from now on!

I was advised to choose between a few pairs of shoes to solve some foot pain issues. I chose 2 pairs and purchased both. One pair didn’t feel well after a few hours of wear and I brought them back the next weekend. They gracefully traded them out for a version of the pair that I found to be very comfortable. They 100% complied with their 14 day return policy for their full price priced shoes.

...Insoles of all particular kinds... if you are a runner/jogger who uses the arch or specialty replacement insoles, you can try on with the exact combination for you, all in the store.
Some folks say the prices are high, but it is a specialty store that offers a specialty service and worth every penny.
For me, $$ on running shoes beats time and money $$$$ on counselors or talk therapy. Amortized over time, these custom fitting shoes and the service at Charm City Run is a yearly ritual... sometimes twice a year.
Totally worth it!

I went to Charm City with my new orthotics, as recommended by my Podiatrist. They have a very friendly staff with a selection of GOOD running shoes. I liked the fact that I was fitted and I was not rushed into buying shoes. I was also able to try on several sizes and styles of running shoes... I ended up going with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 and I must have put over 50 miles on them so far and they’ve been amazing.

All of the people working at Charm City are so kind and very helpful. I’ve never felt pressured into making a purchase or swayed towards a specific type of shoe. They listen to your concerns and find what works for you. They also helped fit my mom for walker sneakers and she couldn’t have been happier with her purchase! Highly recommend!

I haven't been in a shoe store needing the assistance of an employee since childhood. So - perhaps my input is a little old. But this place is top shelf! The lady that waited on me was beyond patient!! Probably brought 7 or 8 pairs of shoes out to give me an idea of the range of what I needed. And ultimately had to order shoes in from a Frederick location!. I was astounded! 24k service

I had a great interaction with the CCR team after the Broad Street Run in Philadelphia. Purchased a pair of Goodr sunglasses at their booth and got all the way home only to realize that in the chaos of the expo, I’d grabbed an empty box from the table. I reached out to the team and they immediately responded and told me they’d send me a new pair of sunglasses which I just received along with a handwritten note apologizing for the mixup! Such a small thing but I really appreciate their willingness to help - and I love my glasses :)

Everything time I go to Charm City Run (Bel Air) I have a good experience. The employees are always ready and willing to help, even when the store is super busy. They are are also so friendly and considerate! Of course their products are highest quality only!!

Crystal Owens is the best! I have been in her running group for over a year and she has provided me with great guidance, advice, and encouragement. Crystal has motivated me to grow and continue to push myself. When I started in her 5k group I was so nervous because it had been so long since I had ran and I lacked the confidence in myself and my abilities. Crystal motivated me to keep coming back, giving me the confidence to switch to the 10k group and run my first (and second) 10k, this year! I appreciate the welcoming environment she has created for her groups and am grateful for the friends I’ve made. Aside from being an amazing coach, Crystal is very knowledgeable in the store and always greets me with a smile and hello! CCR is so lucky to have her on their team!

Absolutely delighted with the impeccable service we had at the Bel Air location from the 2 reps who worked with us. First time working with Charm City Run, but not our last by a long shot!! Proud owner of Hoca Bondi 7's and my wife got the 8"s. I asked the reps for their cards but they only had card for store lead, Ben Pickett. Ben, incredible team and experience. Reps should have their own cards though. We'll be back.

Charm City Run is one of the best running stores in the country IMO. Always friendly, great shoe and gear recommendations, happy little thank you notes left in packages shipped to our house. The events they manage are top notch and they are an excellent part of the community with their Live Give Run campaign. We love you guys!

The staff is very knowledgeable and patient. Rachel worked with to order a few different shoes as I have wide feet and am larger than the average bear. Ordering shoes online is not something that has worked for me. They have a great selection in-store, too, for the majority of the population.

This place has excellent customer service. Over the many times I've been there, an employee is always quick to come and give their assistance. They never try to sell you something you don’t need, and have at times informed me what I already have would be fine for my goals (trail running or foot arch support). I will always return here for running gear.

Jenny helped me at the Bel Air store and she was awesome. I went in and said "I'm the most annoying customer because I try on 20 pairs of shoes and nothing feels good." She watched me run and walk and I found out I've been buying stability all these years when I really need neutral. So the first pair I tried on felt amazing as did the next two. I settled on the first pair she brought out to me. Easiest shoe buying experience ever!! Thank you Jenny. You rock.

Charm City Run has super helpful people that helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I came in searching for shoes for indoor workouts, knowing that it was a running store and it might be a long shot. However, they listened to what I needed, fitted me and analyzed my walking, and showed me options based on all that. I walked out with a pair of shoes that have helped with my stability and completely erased the pain I was having with my old workout shoes. I'll definitely come back for the next pair! I understand that they are primarily a running store, but it would be awesome if they stock even more options for things like trail running, indoor gym, etc, in which case they'd be my first stop for all my active shoes.

Bought a pair of running shoes a couple weeks ago that I wanted to love so bad, but every time I would run in them I would get extremely bad pain in my shins/calves, that I wouldn’t get in my old pair of shoes. I called today and spoke with the manager Ben, and they exchanged the problem shoes for ones that hopefully will be much better for me going forward, with really no questions asked. Impeccable customer service! Thank you all. You’ve earned a customer for life.

Went in for a new pair of shoes and was very satisfied with the assistance provided. After a gait analysis they were able to suggest a few shoes that would be best for me to wear and I went with the ones that felt the best. Also, there was an opportunity to actually try the shoes on a treadmill (where else does that happen!?)

Just picked up a pair of cross training shoes. It was great to have someone that knows what they are doing help me pick out the right shoe for what I do. Much better than blindly picking something off the shelf in a department store. Thanks to Rebecca for your help and patience.
