At every step of the process (and believe me, with Medicare and Medicaid, there are a lot of steps involved...), the team at Handi Medical supply was able to help me coordinate between my medical team and my wound care order after a spinal fusion, the faxes and information that needed to be sent from my medical team and forms that needed to be filled out, even when my medical team didn't have the information necessary to appease the insurance requirements.
In addition, I have to give a shout out to Amanda, as well as my many thanks, for her help during many long phone calls attempting to figure out which parts of my medical information had been sent, which parts were still needed, and which parts I could manage to pull from my records or have the staff of my group home assist me with. In complete seriousness, I ended up being 9 days post-op before my wound care supplies were received, only because of my insurance requirements, but I can guarantee it would have been so much longer if not for the help of Amanda, as well as others in the wound care department, such as Kelly and Maria.
I would absolutely recommend Handi Medical to anyone needing wound care supplies or any other type of medical equipment as the staff has proven to be exceptionally diligent, and wonderful communicators as well, keeping me updated on the details of my supplies whenever new information was available.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize Kelly at Handi Medical Supply. My dad was discharged from the hospital on a Friday afternoon. We were told we could pick up a feeding pump on the way home and they (Handi Medical) would train us on how to use it. In addition, the hospital noted Medicare wouldn't cover any of the supplies. In the 15 minutes between being discharged and reaching Handi Medical, their team has already figured out the Medicare benefit and all items were covered. They were surprised to hear we needed training. Kelly was so patient with us, especially arriving with no appointment and having other customers. She went through how to use the pump and Handi sent us with detailed, step by step instructions. She also gave us her card with cell phone number and told us to call any time that evening or weekend. Unfortunately, we did need to call her on Friday evening and Saturday morning - all due to unexpected issues (not on Handi Medical). The hospital sent us home with incorrect bags. Once again, Kelly came through to troubleshoot with us on both days. To have her as a resource was absolutely invaluable and she is someone I will always appreciate.

Julieanin, Sara and Kelli from respiratory went above and beyond to help us get settled in and feel comfortable with all our equipment. They were always willing to come out and be available to answer questions. I loved the fact that it was a small team working for us instead of calling and getting who ever was available. This helped stop a lot of the confusion we deal with other companies. It had the feel of that small town customer friendly company that we all love and miss when doing business today.

Staff at Handi Medical went above and beyond to help us get a loaner chair to use when the motor in my sister’s power wheelchair broke down. Special thanks to Sheldon in service and repair for making everything come together. Finding a loaner chair that met her unique needs was not an easy task. Sheldon pieced together various parts and components and saved the day! Communication was awesome! Thank you Sheldon and everyone at Handi Medical!

Our electric wheelchair broke down twice in 2 weeks! Once a tire broke off. The second time a wire was cut and caused the chair to stop. Big D and Perry put the chair back in working order while we waited. Even when we called that same day and just showed up! My son would be stranded without their brilliant work. They have always gotten my monthly orders to me within 2-3 days. Recently, due to UPS leaving the package outside my apartment building, they responded quickly and offered to replace the items for free without me even asking!
Handi is always my first call when needing any medical supplies and has been so for decades!

Robbi, in Handi's rehab department, has been helping me find a wheelchair cushion needed to prevent a reoccurrence of pressure sores. Finding the right cushion can be involved as a person's condition changes. In my case, it required mapping of the area and finding what options work to reduce pressure to a safe level.
I've had progressive multiple sclerosis for close to 30 years and purchased a complex power wheelchair and a manual wheelchair with Robbi's assistance.
She's had years of experience assisting patients chose the equipment that's right for them and I highly recommend her.

I have no complaints....when my dr's office ordered me a knee scooter...i never got one. These guys had one for me the day i called...reasonably priced for rental. Getting the scooter made my quality of life so much better while recovering from major ankle surgery!!

I've always been able to get what I've needed here in terms of joint braces and PT devices. It's gr8 that you can try them on (can't do that online!). Centrally located and reasonably priced.

I have been attending here for my group home needs for 2 years now. I have never been let down. I see complaints of taking too long, unorganized etc. I have witnessed these complaints in action to be from entitled people that think when they walk in the store you are supposed to drop everything you are doing for them. Or as if you are to rush and hurry through another's experience but take your time with them and them only. In addition to the "unorganized" is the staff going above and beyond to search in all available spaces for the need of the customer. A customer asking for an item that does not appear to be in the correct space, but when the customer and the staff combine strategies they expand their search or even substitution for the need. This store is great, it is reasonably priced, when something is not in stock, they order it and the turn around time is always what they say it is. It behooves me that people are so entitled and self centered. Especially in this specific field. Great demand, and hard to supply. We all could do a little better when reflecting on a businesses reputation. I see no need to tarnish it because you are having a bad day or because you do not know how to adult.

I am a long-time user of Handi Medical and have always had a wonderful experience. I have purchased two chairs from them and whether you are working with the salespeople or the technicians they go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. I also have received my monthly medical supplies from them for over 10 years and recently they made the ordering process even simpler by adding an easy button on their website. All you have to do is login and click the easy button to reorder all your supplies from previous month in one click. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Technician Perry was so helpful a year ago in repairing a scooter that I sought him again, and glad I did.
He tested batteries to determine they were dead, and told me the cables were loosely installed (by competitor) which probably contributed to depletion. I shared info with manager of other business, who then provided credit on new batteries.
Perry's charge for his diagnostic skills and his time: 0. He charged less than he needed to a year ago, also, and likewise provided added value such as extra copies of scooter keys.
A thorough professional who works for a company whose customers are respected, not merely a means to a profit.

We have been working with handi medical for over a year now. We switched after our old supplier became more uncooperative and stopped stocking items we needed locally. Handi always has what we need, and if I forget to order, they get things processed quickly and I can run in and pick up the items I need.
All the complaints about long waits for items should probably be directed at your insurance companies, they are almost always the ones dragging their feet to pay for items. Don't take it out on the supplier.
