Listen, I have been a CVS shopper for years. I only go to Walgreens for occasional needs. Today I was helped by the lovely Patricia. Her customer service philosophy and bubbly personality will convert me to this store from now on. I wish everyone, including myself, had a little more "Patricia" in them during this chaotic year. I knew I had to come home and write this review asap.

I'm going to come back and change my rating if the situation is resolved fairly and amicably. I was wrongly (and nonsensically) accused of "doctor/pharmacy shopping" simply because another Walgreens I normally go to didn't have one of my medications in stock, and the pharmacist there kindly offered to call the Indian School and Tramway location to see if they had the medication. They did, so I made the call to my provider in another city and asked that the prescription be sent to the Indian School and Tramway store. I live elsewhere but have been primarily staying in Albuquerque since late January due to a family emergency which ended with my father passing away recently. It is not rocket science to figure out that people still need their regular medications when they are not at home. I went in to pick up the medication the next day, and the female pharmacist (who shall remain nameless, for now) came to the counter to inform me that I would be having difficulty getting my medications in the future because I had been flagged. Because it looked like I was "pharmacy shopping". I can't really see what the personal reward in my having to go into two different pharmacy locations to get my medications would be, as it seems to me there's absolutely nothing to be gained by such an action. It's rather annoying, in fact, but I understand that things sometimes do not happen the way we would like. However, what was this person thinking, flagging me? She was aware that I don't live here and that another Walgreens pharmacy called her store to see if the medication could be filled there. If this woman had any kind of a problem filling a prescription for me, she should have simply told me she would rather not do it and allowed me to make other arrangements. Instead, she made a rather unintelligent deduction given the situation, and decided to make life harder for me. She also informed me that I had "too many providers" and take "too many medications". Umm, ok. Given that she doesn't know me at all, and has no idea what my health issues are, I fail to see how she could make such a judgment. It was also inappropriate to speak to a customer this way. She further informed me that she wouldn't fill a prescription for me in the future. No problem! I'd rather eat dog food than ever go into that particular store again. There is little excuse for her discriminatory actions. And I will not tolerate it. People must be their own advocates in these trying times. It is unfortunate that there are always those who will choose to "play God" if given the opportunity. Heads up, Walgreens. I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years, but if this situation isn't quickly and fairly dealt with to my satisfaction, next week, I will be making complaints and filing grievances. I'm secretly hoping for a more amicable and positive outcome. Misunderstandings happen, and can only be solved by people willing to listen to one another. We will see.

UPDATE: Even though my one experience with this pharmacy doesn't merit 5 stars, the response I received when I asked for help resolving the issue does merit 5 stars. After going in person to the offices of the NM Board of Pharmacy, and speaking with a very sincere and knowledgeable manager there, I later heard from a Healthcare Supervisor with Walgreens Regional Office (I believe). These two gentlemen not only did their jobs, but they did them with expertise and sincerity, and I couldn't be more grateful. Can't think of any other way to say thank you without publicly posting their names, so I changed the star rating. They deserve better, like maybe promotions and raises, lol. Rather than reacting in a blasé manner, either blowing me off or passing the buck, they both did the right thing. The issue was resolved as far as I know. I'm hoping the actions taken will lower the odds of this happening to customers at that pharmacy. I left my original long review simply because there may be some value in that if somebody else has the same issue. Advocate for yourselves; seek out those who can help.

Best Pharmacy Staff at the Walgreens on Indian School and Tramway who went above and beyond to give my sweet mamma, who has dementia, the covid-19 vaccine. I am extremely grateful for their kindness and understanding. Thank you so very much.

There is NOTHING unprofessional about the pharmacy staff. They are always polite and helpful. Perhaps if you go in with an attitude you get one back, but they have been nothing but helpful to me and my family. Wonderful place.
