El Barrio Mexican Market

I go here to pick up their huge 8.99 breakfast burritos (enough for 2 people ). They open at 7 am. Their complimentary salsa is spicy and tasty! They have a great meat counter..bring home their fajita mix to cook! This is not a restaurant...to go orders with a full Mexican market and gift shop. One outdoor table. Great tacos as well!

Their asada breakfast burritos are SO YUMMY!!! I substitute potato for eggs due to an allergy and they have no problem making the accommodation for me. It’s under $10 out the door for a nice sized burrito (I can’t even eat half of it) The grocery store is fully stocked with lots of goodies. Staff is always friendly. Check them out for the best breakfast burrito in town!

AND, if you’re looking for home decor or gifts - they’ve got that too! Don’t forget a piñata for your kid’s birthday party! The staff are all wonderful, too! 😉

Fantastic food. We went in this morning to get a breakfast burrito. We have found that it is hard to find a good breakfast burrito in town that doesn't break the bank. Their breakfast burritos are amazing. From the authentic flavors to being cooked perfectly. We were excited to see so many new options of ingredients to try as well. Our family loves making Mexican food at home but often cannot find the ingredients needed. This store is a new family favorite. Get their shrimp tacos dude. I haven't tried much of their stuff yet but those are absolutely delicious. Also just sayin, when I buy a bean and cheese burrito I'm not expecting much, but the ones I get there are easily the best I've ever had, idk how they do it but they are way better than the sum of their parts

The food is fantastic and the market is authentic with unique items you can't find anywhere else in the area. I originally left a 3 star review because I had a negative experience with the service, but the business immediately replied to my review and offered to make it right. It's rare to find a business that responds to customer feedback so quickly. Thank you!

FIRST TIME STOPING HERE AND GUAUU LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT JUST AS BEAUTIFULL AS MEXICO

The store has been a great addition to GV since last September. An amazing selection of home items in their "from Mexico" side. Their grocery store has also great items from Latin America as well. Very tasty hot food like tacos, tortas and burritos. Their daily specials are always a hit. I had their Beer battered Fish Tacos and they were delicious. Can't wait to try their next dish the next time I visit them.

I had the birria tacos today and the were so delicious! So juicy and tender. Great amount of meat! It was absolutely delicious! Amazing flavor.

We enjoyed our first visit this morning. When you walk in you can't help but smile. This place is fun! Our breakfast burritos were awesome. The staff is great. Bought a real cool metal Agave for the yard, very colorful! We will definitely be going back. Lunch from El Barrio today. Excellent! Added this cool cactus to our "El Barrio" collection.
We just finished some fantastic tamales and got our newest cactus decorated for the holidays. Thank you El Barrio, we're still giving you 5 stars!

I love everything about this place! Five star rating is absolutely justified! Their tacos and burritos are superior to any comparable Mexican restaurant in town. Tortillas are made fresh. Amazing selection of meats and fish. Well staffed, very clean, and plenty of parking (well, perhaps until more people find out how amazing this place is). I'll absolutely become a regular here. Just what Nevada County needed.

We ordered a taco bar from El Barrio for a gathering of old friends who have known each other for over 35 years. To a person, we all agreed that the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful!! We appreciate working with Mateo and Sara as they made the whole experience a very easy one along with all of the good food they provided!! We will definitely return to El Barrio for us and for other occasions! Thank you.

This is the best Mexican food in the Grass Valley + Nevada City area by far. The market is great and the restaurant is a true regional gem. Try the burrito El Barrio.

Third trip which was just as good an experience as the other two...except we tried the grill today. My shrimp tacos were tasty and my friend's crispy tacos impressed by not disintegrating all the way to the last bite.

Not just a wonderful neighborhood store. I met Haven (an owner) today and she is absolutely charming! So happy that this store has finally opened! Don't let the lack of abundant parking stop you from visiting this place. There is plenty of parking offsite and it is worth a few extra steps. I will be making it a regular shopping spot.
