The Ship Store

Not sure why so many negative reviews. I found several Patriot’s Point/USS Yorktown souvenirs and the employees were all pleasant. This is also a great spot if you’re looking for Charleston themed souvenirs as well during your trip. To top it off, they sell some local baked goods at the front including pralines.

The whole experience was amazing loved the store, and visiting the ships ,being very special since my husband served on the USS Laffey. I bought a lot of things for him and a necklace for myself that I wish I could replace.

Fantastic collection of t-shirts. Quite a collection of prehistoric sharks teeth. A little something for everyone. Don't miss it!

Excellent gift shop. You'll be sure to find something for everyone. I was very surprised at how big it was and what a wide selection there was.

I loved the tees and bags and souvenirs available. Overpriced, like any tourist-y gift shop anywhere, but better stuff. The pricing isn’t exorbitant- just more you’d want to spend at say, Walmart, but you also get something you can’t get there.

It's a good for what it is, a souvenir shop, and the lady that checked me out was very friendly.

Unique gift shop for veterans

This shop has a very wide area of Charleston and
U.S.S. Yorktown souvenirs, there are also a limited of Fort Sumter souvenirs, however the bulk of those are found at the small shop found at the monument. The store can become incredibly crowded during departure and return times, so if you plan to shop arrive early for ease of access. Prices are quite high as well and you can find similar items in other area shops for better prices for the most part. Additionally, as my picture shows, and I’m unsure if this is trying to be funny or was a just stupidly made sign but they were selling “air-conditioned water” which is literally just room temp sitting on the floor. — Additionally if your wanting water you can buy it on the ferry and it’s cheaper.

Too much random stuff that just said Charleston rather than Yorktown or Laffey. I had trouble finding a souvenir that actually mentions the USS Yorktown, and what Yorktown merch they did have was very limited.

The draw for Patriots Point is the USS Yorktown, which is awesome. But The Ship Store was lousy. A collection of mediocre t-shirts, but no long sleeve t-shirts, no hoodies, no sweatshirts, no collared (polo) shirts that had USS Yorktown on them. Two hat designs to choose from. Whoopee! I don't care how much they had that said "Charleston" on it, I wasn't there to see the city I was there for the ship. It's a very poor gift shop for an excellent attraction.

The USS YORKTOWN was an amazing tour. And the vietnam experience was truly something to see. How ever i was dissappointed that at 520 the gift shop closed over an hour early. We didnt want to carry around the goodies so we said we'd go after the tour of the ship. Well that was cut short. I am truly dissappointed by this. There should have been signs or something letting us know that

It was a dark and stormy day we sheltered in this gift shop while waiting for the fort sumter tour our group was harrased by the employees for touching products that were for sale at one point an older gentleman physically removed me from the store just for walking in the door. Would not recommend to anyone 1 star because the USS Yorktown was really cool

Loved the ship tour, but when we got to the gift shop, it ruined our day. The staff there were rude and unhelpful, and yelled at us for trying on the hats. They proceeded to refuse us the right to buy their merchandise, then kicked us out of the store after we complied to their demands. Not a place to spend the weekend.🙂

Had a bad experience with the staff who was rude buy telling us (youth group) what we weren’t allowed to touch even though the products can be bought by anyone. No matter how polite we were even while they were kicking us out they refused to let people buy stuff that they already had picked out. This is what drove me to give out my first review, the one star was because they had free wifi.

Very poor customer service and a sad selection of souvenirs. Exceptionally rude staff and kicked us out of the store for simply browsing. We were reasonable and respectful, complying when they refused service to our "kind" (youth group).Only reason this is a 1 star review is because of the free WiFi. Extremely disappointed.
